  1. Yes, because they belong to two different people. I just posted the second one as a comparison.
  2. One of her supporters sent me her own ID card that has been issued to her because he husband is in the military. Why would her card say "yes" under civilian. while the card belonging to the person who I believe is fraudster says "no" under civilian. They appear to be the same type of card.
  3. So, it saying "no" under "civilian" just means that she is was a dependent at that time?
  4. Can any of you shed some light on this ID? She is attempting to use this as "proof" that she was in the military. I can see the birth date is correct, but the date on the card was from around the time she was married to her ex-husband who was in the Army at the time. Under "Civilian", it says "No". Would that be correct if someone is just a spouse of a soldier?
  5. Yeah, we're done with her. I've warned folks on a handful of local Facebook pages, so I've done all I can do.
  6. I also found her to be a member of several military and firearms related Facebook groups, mainly for the middle Tennessee/Clarksville/Ft Campbell areas. She was actually a member of a couple of them that I'm an Admin on, but I had no clue until I began digging.
  7. Just found these. Looks like she's had more than one run-in with the police. This is what he Facebook profile looked like as of last night.
  8. I was able to get in touch with some people who are very close to her. She was NEVER in the military, not even for a single day. She is a con artist. I feel so damn stupid.
  9. She claims her ex-husband beat her while stationed at Ft. Campbell or Ft Knox, causing the disability. Based on everything I can find, he was in the military, but she was not.
  10. She claims to have been a combat medic. I haven't been able to find any evidence of that, but I have been able to find evidence that her ex-husband was stationed at Ft. Campbell.
  11. Whether or not she is a disabled veteran or not isn't the issue, unless she's lying about being a veteran. I'd like to think I'm a pretty understanding guy, but not when it comes to something like that.  I have been able to speak with an Afghan veteran who owns and operates a landscaping company in the area. From what he's telling me, he was forced to call the police on her over a dispute involving payment for services he performed. According to him, the police officer (also a veteran) informed him that she had been kicked out of basic training after three days.
  12. What information will that provide? Anything other than the fact that she was actually in the military?
  13. To make a long story short, a single mother, with another child due in December, is on a local Facebook group that I run, and she appeared to need some financial assistance. The fact that she claims to be a disabled veteran was enough to nudge me into helping her. We've given her a few items for the baby, assisted another couple into organizing a baby shower that's supposed to take place between now and December. From the very beginning, she cannot have a conversation (online or in person) without pressing the whole "I'm a disabled veteran" story.  She clearly knows this pulls at the heartstings of many of us. As much as it pains me to say it, I'm convinced something isn't quite right with her story. She's also constantly telling EVERYONE that she cannot receive food stamps due to making 40 cents over some sort of limit. She doesn't work, so the only income that I'm aware of would be the military disability. Would the military really pay a disabled veteran 40 cents over the limit, just to prevent him/her from being able to collect food stamps? I'm not even convinced that she saw any sort of action while in the military. From what I've been able to gather, I think she may have been beaten by her ex-husband who was also in the military. Based on things she has said, along with the fact that she clearly has some unresolved mental/psychological issues, I believe she MAY have suffered some fairly significant head injuries as a result of the beating. I'm kind of assuming she wasn't lying about the beating taking place. I am not assuming that she's messed up in the head. There's NO doubt about that. To the point, I'm really surprised the government has allowed her to have custody of her daughter. I could go on and on, but I'm wondering if there is any way to verify anything this woman is saying about her military career?

  20. I've been debt-free (except for my home) for most of my adult life, I have a great credit score, and I pay almost everything with a credit card that has NEVER carried a balance or costed me a single penny in fees or interest. If you can use a credit card only for purchases that you were going to make anyway, they can be great. The problem is, many people use them to buy crap they can't afford to be buying in the fist place. I hear people saying that a good credit score isn't important if you have saved at least 20% for a down payment on a home. That's simply not the case. While having a 20% down payment will HELP offset a low credit score, you will still pay a higher interest rate than someone who has the 20% AND a high credit score. A fraction of a percent can make a significant difference throughout the life of a mortgage loan. Every little bit helps. In the end, do whatever works for you. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  21. Thank you. I sent the information to the local news outlets, and it appears at least a couple of them have decided to spread the word. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  22. That would be great. Thank you.
  23. Yes, standard practice. When I was in the moving business, moving companies were required to insure your items, but the minimum requirement was 10 cents and 60 cents per pound. I'm not sure if those minimum requirements have changed since then. Most reputable companies will offer additional coverage, at an additional charge.
