  1. .....so they never have to make a call like this one. YouTube - 14 year old boy shoots his best friend calls 911 (audio only) It always amazes how many gun owners don't take the time to teach their children even the most basic firearms safety.
  2. A female friend of mine purchased one for home protection. She's a pretty big girl, and the LOP was far too long for her. She had to order an adjustable stock in order for her to be comfortable shooting it. Other than that, I'm sure it would be just fine for its intended purpose.
  3. We're not you Facebook friends, so it won't allow us to view the photos.
  4. I can tell you, as someone who is currently a truck driver, nothing has changed. I keep the volume on the C.B. turned down unless I need to use it.
  5. I wish. I found several websites that had the 2010 models pictured, but didn't actually have them in stock. I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty certian my girlfriend pre-ordered me one directly from Cold Steel for my birthday.
  6. Ooops! I posted the wrong photo. Yes, I have the one you've posted. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the 2010 model.
  7. I would also suggest some sort of "safety chat" with your children. By 6 and 10, I think they should be well aware of the dangers of messing with guns. I spent quite a bit of time with my 11-year-old daughter when she was younger, and I've never felt uncomfortable about her messing with my guns. I keep an XD40 and a Remington Marine Magnum sitting next to my bed 24/7. Well, while we are in the house, anyway. She's always been very good about keeping her distance.
  8. Something like this works well. There are a few companies making simialr products. Bed holster bracket
  9. FOXNews.com - Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Closes Fishing From Louisiana to Florida Panhandle VENICE, Louisiana -- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is closing commercial and recreational fishing from Louisiana to parts of the Florida Panhandle because of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. In a news release sent Sunday afternoon, NOAA said the closure begins immediately and will last for at least 10 days. NOAA Administrator Jane Lubchenco says government scientists are taking samples from the waters near the spill to determine whether there is any danger. The fishing ban extends between Louisiana state waters at the mouth of the Mississippi River to waters off Florida's Pensacola Bay. Crews have so far had little success stemming the flow from the ruptured well on the sea floor off Louisiana or removing oil from the surface.
  10. Best looking 1911, IMHO.
  11. Dairy King on Thompson Lane in Nashville is no more.
  12. You may wanna post that here: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/knives-bladed-tools/39354-ill-first.html
  13. No, but a Waaaaaaambulance would be nice.
  14. Anyone ever used a knife sharpener similar to this one? I've seen these (or something very similar) at a few of the local gun shows, but didn't want to take a chance without getting some reviews.
  15. Knives and Bladed Tools - Tennessee Gun Owners posts are not showing up in Recent Threads.
  16. Cold Steel Recon 1
  17. As sad as this is, this storm is going to create plenty of work for some of us. We sell/deliver flooring, tile, countertop, and many other decorative surfaces. We saw an increase in business after some of the more recent tornados, and I'm sure we'll see even more after all this water is gone.
  18. +1 They have been able to get some surveillance video from nearby businesses, and are hoping for more. I thought I remember reading something about New York City installing cameras and bomb sniffing devices all over the city. Maybe I'm thinking of something else.
  19. Yeah, I thought the same thing, but I figured it would be worth a shot. Maybe someone knows someone who needs help.
  20. Someone just sent me a photo of the square in downtown Lebanon.
  21. You're lucky. I'm in Hendersonville, and it's been pouring rain for at least 2 hours.
  22. Do we have any TGOers that may need help because of the storms? If you do, don't be afraid to ask.
  23. You didn't hope hard enough, damnit! The rain is coming down in buckets this morning.
  24. Very bad news for those already under water. The rain is coming down again. Big time!
