  1. They can run their business however they see fit, but when every other gun store I've visited in the Middle Tennessee area - including many of our other vendors - are selling Ruger LCP's for $300-$319, I was a little stunned when they quoted me a price of nearly $350 before tax/TICS. If we were talking about a $1000+ gun, $30-$50 may not be an issue. But on a $300 gun, $30-$50 is a little more noticeable. If I was one of only a few who've had similar complaints about The Outpost Armory, I may find it in my heart to feel bad, but that is hardly the case. Outside of this website, I've not met a single person who visited The Outpost Armory that didn't complain about their prices, when compared to other gun stores in our area. I deal with a great number of customers/business owners in Rutherford County, and every single one felt the same way. Honestly, not a single one has not complained, and these are people with far, far more money to blow than myself. I'm not sure why those of us who compare/notice prices are vilified, as if the average person never does this. For those of us who compare prices, we have other places to shop. For those businesses who want to charge more than almost everyone else in the area, they have other customers to sell to. In the end, I don't think anyone is going to be losing much sleep over this issue.
  2. I'm watching it on my phone, but it looked like he went from closed to open to closed. Ill have to watch it on the big screen.
  3. Oh, now I know why they charge right at $400.00 out the door for a Ruger LCP.
  4. Don't sign the original. Make several copies and sign them. Most places will allow you to fax/email them a copy of your C&R. Yes, if you want to cut out the card and have it laminated, that would be fine. I always keep one or two copies on my C&R in my wallet, just in case I stop into a gun shop/gun show and find a C&R that I want to buy. It will save you the $10 background (TICS) check.
  5. Which personal defense ammo are you using in your Ruger LCP? I'm just trying to get an idea if you've found that your LCP functions better with one brand/type of ammo over another. If you've found that your LCP will eat just about anything, why did you choose the ammo you are using? Thank you in advance.
  6. Like McAllyn said, great customer service goes a long way. Some of these gun store owners need to focus on that department, especially during the hiring process. I've met some really nice owners, but the people they employ have zero business dealing with the general public. Remember, not everyone that walks in the door is going to be as knowledgeable about firearms as you.
  7. If I were to open a new gun store, the following is where I'd start: Glock, Hi-Point, Springfield XD/XDM, Ruger LC/LCP/LCR/SR, S&W Sigma/M&P/J-Frame, Kel-Tec, SIG, Kahr PM/CM, Mossberg and Remington shotguns, various AR's, various 1911's. I guess much depends on your budget/investment for your initial inventory. If you're on a fairly tight budget, I would research the best selling guns over the last couple years and stick with them as much as you can. Once you've built up enough money you can venture into guns that may sit on the shelf for slightly longer periods of time. Try to have a little something for everyone. Not everyone can afford/is willing to drop $500+ on a gun. I'm not sure of the profit margin, but Hi-Points always seem to be on many of the "Best Selling" lists I've seen.
  8. If/When I build another AR, it's going to be in .458 SOCOM. They're not cheap to shoot, but they are awesome.
  9. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the term "White-Hispanic" was created for this story. I can't say that I'd ever heard that term before this story broke.

  13. So many great selections have already been mentioned, but here's a few I'll add. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNHlVo0cPa8
  14. What time is dinner?
  15. David at D&T Arms did say that the pink went well with my eyes.
  16. Ouch! What part of your leg did you break? How exactly did you manage that?
  17. Thanks to D&T Arms for handling the transfer ($15 TGO Special), extra mags and DeSantis Nemesis holsters.
  18. Tried sushi at Fulin's in Hendersonville last night. We weren't very impressed, even for Tennessee sushi.
  19. If someone is simply following you (even if you feel like it's been for too long) and you blast them in the nose, you're going to jail. If Zimmerman's account of what transpired that night is true, once the kid broke the law by physically assaulting him, all bets were off. Whether or not Zimmerman is being truthful is a completely different story. I wasn't there, and I've read that multiple witnesses are giving accounts that contradict each other. If things went down as Zimmerman and at least some of the witnesses claim, I don't think he broke the law. If you want to argue whether or not he should have allowed the situation to escalate to that point, fair enough. But following someone through your neighborhood his not against the law.
  20. I've yet to find anything that Conrad can't or won't do. He's the only person I let work on my bike.
  21. I use TNT Performance Dyno and/or Cycle Gear.
  22. Of course you can speak, but us sheep don't have to agree with your gospel. It's nothing personal, so don't sweat it. If you read enough on this site, you'll find that many of us disagree on any given topic, on a fairly regular basis. This site brings us together as firearms owners/enthusiasts, but that hardly means we always agree with each other all of the time, or even most of the time. Heck, we can't even agree which caliber is superior, 9, 40, 45, etc.
  23. True. But as disturbed as I was by his rationale, I couldn't focus on much more than the random capital letters.
  24. Why not just use ear plugs? That's what I use most of the time.
