  1. I think she was more worried about failing, and just figured I'd be her Superman and save her from the bad guys. A female friend of ours decided to take the HCP class, so I talked her into going with her.
  2. The whole shebang costed me a fair bit of money, but after 10± years, my girlfriend finally obtained her HCP. I figured a gun of her own would be the next logical step. I picked up a 9mm Shield (her choice) and had Amendment 2 Custom Coating make it all purdy with some pink Cerakote. With her Birthday and Christmas being only a few days apart, she has somewhat reluctantly accepted the occasional Happy Birthday/Merry Christmas gift. I haven't been brave enough to try and get away with that, until now. With the HCP class, HCP itself, the Shield, and the Cerakoting, I think I was able to get away with it this year. She's super stoked!
  3. Polymer hammer? That's a new one to me.
  4. It was just a matter of time. 300K+ is a good run.
  5. Being full of Christmas cheer and all, I'm giving away two six-month TGO Benefactor Subscriptions. *EDIT* Our very own Fourtyfive has generously offered to pitch in for a one-year Benefactor Subscription. That makes a total of three winners! *EDIT* An extremely generous member of TGO who wishes to remain anonymous has offered to add two Lifetime Benefactor subscriptions to the giveaway. That makes a total of 5 winners. RULES: Must have a minimum 30 posts prior to the creation of this giveaway. OR You must have a minimum of one positive TGO iTrader feedback prior to the creation of this giveaway. If you have ANY negative feedback, you are not eligible to participate. Current Benefactors are not eligible to participate. If you meet the criteria above, simply post "Merry Christmas" to this thread for your chance to win. Two random winners will be chosen on Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas and good luck to all.
  6. I don't know if it's because I'm a Lifetime Benefactor, but I can't see the prices in the TGO Store. What are the prices?
  7. I bought my 2002 F150 XLT extended cab from a dealership five years ago for $8300 cash. It's a 2WD, 5.4 V8, with an automatic transmission. It had 90,000 miles. If I'm looking at very similar trucks that are 5 years newer, the prices are significantly higher. Dare I say roughly double the price that I paid five years ago. If anyone can find me a similar truck for the money, I'm a serious buyer.
  8. Please delete.
  9. I have pretty well decided to keep my current truck, unless I stumble upon a smoking deal.
  10. Some people can easily afford those vehicles. But like I try to make my daughter understand, some can't REALLY afford the new vehicles they're driving. She doesn't quite understand why I go to work everyday and drive a 14 year old truck, while the parents of her friends live in the projects and drive brand new Chargers, Mustangs and Yukons.
  11. According to a friend who lives and breathes RC planes, yes, all unmanned aircraft from 9 ounces to 55 pounds.
  12. Right! One thing's for sure, people don't stay home anymore. How do people pit that kind of mileage on a vehicle?
  13. No, nothing wrong with it. It runs well, and I've kept it well maintained. The only real concern is that the mileage is getting to the point where I'm concerned about taking it on road trips. I could rent for those sort of trips, though.
  14. I've never bought a new vehicle. I bought my current truck five years ago for $8000 cash. It's a 2002 Ford F150 XLT with an extended cab, 5.4 liter V8, and an automatic transmission. I'd like to find a newer version of it. It had about 90K miles on it when I bought it, and I've averaged about 20K miles a year since then. It's been a good truck, but with it pushing 200,000 miles, I get nervous about taking it on an occasional road trip. Based on the price tags alone, I highly doubt I'll be buying new this time around.
  15. Man, I'd love a new(er) Platinum. However, the $40K - $50K price tag is more than I'd like to spend. That almost sounds like another mortgage payment.
  16. My truck is closing in on 200,000 miles, so it's about time to start looking for something newer. Current prices are even more ridiculous than I remember them being when I bought the truck I have now.
  17. I'm not quite sure if this is only for "drones", or all unmanned aircraft, such as airplanes and helicopters?
  18. I'd like to remind everyone to free up storage space in your private messages by deleting old conversations. Once you've reached the limit, you will no longer receive private messages until you free up some space. Thank you in advance!
  19. Well, none of this really matters now. Someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Thanks for the input, OS!
  20. Yes, I have read that "super" indicated adjustable sights. All I know is what I've been able to find via Google searches. I think my description is pretty accurate, but I wanted to double check.
  21. Before I put this up for sale, I want to ensure that I'm able to accurately represent this Ruger Single-Six. I honestly don't know much about it. Based on what little research I've done, I believe it is a Ruger Super Single-Six with a 6 1/2" barrel that was made sometime in the 60's. The last three digits of the serial number are engraved on the cylinder (22 Magnum), so I also believe it is a "convertible" model. I am still searching for the .22 LR cylinder. A partial serial number is 5610xx. While most of the wear you see in the pics is there, I swear the "wear" you see on both sides of the front sight post is not there. I can only attribute that to the lighting. Am I on or off base here? Thank you in advance for any input.
