  1. This news is a week or so old. The authorities believe the whole thing is a hoax.
  2. Not enough of the trigger is covered, in my opinion.
  3. I stopped asking for gifts when I was still a teenager. People already know my interests, so I'm just happy with whatever I get.
  4. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/elections/
  5. He's now starting crap with the Williamson County (Franklin, TN) school bus drivers. Both were posted to YouTube yesterday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFTMtc9zWXQ&list=UUF8kc01qnMIlyVBmS_8v7zA&index=2&feature=plcp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iK6xNPw06uA&list=UUF8kc01qnMIlyVBmS_8v7zA&index=1&feature=plcp
  6. The same type of videos are out there for Romeny. This one even has a snippet or two about Romney's support of "strong gun control laws". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_pgfWK3sxw&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  7. There's no doubt our economy isn't what it was several years ago, but from where I'm sitting, I think there are certain groups that would like us to believe things are much worse than they really are. I'm in the decorative surfaces (countertops, tile, hardwood flooring, etc) industry, and we've seen huge increases in volume and revenue over the last year or so. We defiantly aren't doing the type of business we were prior to the bursting of the bubble, but because the type of products we deal in aren't necessities, I think it's a good sign. We've even seen decent increases in new construction. My father is in the demolition business, and he was telling me today that they've also seen a substantial increase over the last several months. The same thing can be said for the local mattress manufacturer where my girlfriend is employed. And all three of us are making more money than we were a few years ago. I'm not going to say things are where we want them to be, but I do have a difficult time buying into the hype that the world as we know it is going to end any day now.
  8. Ok. Was able to vote, using the regular mobile version.
  9. I'm not seeing a poll while using Tapatalk.
  10. I miss fishing at the TVA steam plant in Gallatin. Thanks to 9/11, it's been off limits.
  11. It doesn't sound like he's trying to sell ammunition for the purpose of livelihood and profit.
  12. Based on the entire article, I think the package is supposed to contain what he believes to be evidence/proof that he and his family are victims of criminal activity at the hands of the government.
  13. They are usually about $100. Yes, they have to go through an FFL.
  14. Interesting watch. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the others.
  15. I am in support of Planned Parenthood, ACLU, and I'm in favor of gay marriage/civil unions. I will not be voting for a Democrat in the upcoming presidential election.
  16. Here are at least some of the threads regarding his build. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/49474-pictures-of-the-lightweight-ar-i-just-built/ http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/49052-my-lightweight-ar-build-second-thread/
  17. You may want to talk to Dolomite_supafly. If I remember correctly, he just built an ultra-light AR, or is maybe in the process.
  18. As far as the actual price differences between gun stores are concerned, there are likely many factors, just like any other business. It's up to you to figure out who has "legitimate" reasons for being more expensive, and those who have ridiculously inflated prices just because they know there are plenty of ignorant people who are willing to pay whatever they are asking. I generally don't price-haggle when shopping for a firearm. I've done my research long before I step foot into their store. I know what the average price is, and if they aren't within a certian range, I walk out. This is another advantage of buying online; you don't have to haggle. The online store has the price listed, and you already know it's their bottom dollar. I've purchased both online and through local vendors. Generally speaking, if I'm looking for an ordinary and readily available item, I usually look for the savings online. I don't take into account the tax savings. If I'm having a difficult time locating a specific item or need to utilize their expertise, I'm willing to pay extra for the services of a local shop. For example, I needed some one-on-one time with Joe from Hero Gear when building my first AR-15. For his knowledge and amazing customer service, I was willing to buy everything through him, rather than saving a chunk of change by purchasing the components online. Another example would be when I purchased my Smith & Wesson M & P Pro Series. I was having a difficult time finding one, so I utilized the knowledge and customer service of the guys at D & T Arms. Because they took the time to hunt down the M & P I was looking for, I was willing to pay more than I would have if I had waited to locate one online. While there, I even purchased a couple holsters and magazines that not only could I have found cheaper online, I could have purchased quite a bit cheaper at my local Academy Sports & Outdoors. If you know exatly what you're looking for, in most cases, there's generally not a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to customer service. Unlike your average returnable/exchangeable Wal-Mart purchase, if you have an issue with a firearm you've purchased from a local gun store, you're almost always left dealing with the manufacturer. Some gun stores are kinder and gentler and more sympathetic than others, but almost always will they tell you that there's nothing they can do about it, call the manufacturer. Oh, and just like the MSRP on almost anything else, the MSRP means very little to me when purchasing a firearm. With the invention of the internet, it takes only a few short minutes to figure out an average selling price of whatever it is you're looking for. In my opinion, the MSRP is just an inflated number to make you feel like you're getting some kind of great deal.
  19. Your marriage is gay. Your religion is gay. So there.
  20. With the divorce rate of first marriages hovering around 40%-50%, second marriages hovering around 60%, and third marriages hovering around 70%, it appears the straight folks have already done more than their fair share of watering down the religious meaning of marriage.
  21. One thing is for sure, many religious folks and them homosexuals have at least one thing in common; they love cramming stuff down someone's throat.
  22. I have a 13-year-old daughter in 8th grade (middle school), and she claims that, at no time, has any faculty member told them that it was or wasn't OK to be gay. She says that she doesn't recall the subject ever being discussed.
  23. Yeah, just like they did when it finally became normal for 5-year-old white girls to have "relations" with those yucky black boys.
