Yeah, I'd hope that whoever decides to speak with Brian is well-groomed, educated and articulate.

Holy AK/AR!!!!!! Have you looked at Gunbroker prices today??!!?
TripleDigitRide replied to gregintenn's topic in General Chat
Not sure about .45, but there was a decent selection at Springfield of the others you listed. I thought about buying the other 6 50-round boxes of .380, but I decided to be nice. I bought only one of at least 5 100-round boxes of .40, but again, I decided to be nice. -

TripleDigitRide replied to gregintenn's topic in General Chat
Nope. There were 2, and they were $1049 each. The case was full of guns; mostly shotguns and bot-actions. There was also a fairly good supply of ammo. I picked up 100 rounds of .380, and 100 rounds of .40. -

Wal-Mart in Springfield had 2 ARs about 30-minutes ago. One ass being sold while I was there. The clerk said they come in when they come in, but when they do, they are put on the shelf between 8:00 am and 10:00 am. -
how would you argue the case regarding gun control? Are you for or against any level of gun control? What level of gun control is acceptable, if any? Would you do away with or tweek any current policies? If so, please give details. Would you enact additional policies? If so, please give details. What can we, as a society, do to help ensure guns don't end up in the wrong hands?

BOTACHTactical.com seems to have disappeared.

A simple Google search was enough to keep me from ordering from them. -
Tennessee is a right-to-work state. They can fire you for just about any reason, or no reason at all.

Amen, R1100R. All too often, research is optional. Unfortunately, this is all to often the case with right-wing media types, too. I hear our own local radio show hosts talking out their ass, just to have something to say. Grossly misinformed.

Cheaper Than Dirt. Not Selling Firearms? What?
TripleDigitRide replied to Smiddy's topic in Handguns
After CTD pull their price gouging stunt during the '08 election, I can't believe anyone has spent a single red cent with them since. They probably figure that gun owners quickly forgot the first time, they will forget the second time just the same. -
Although not the type of handleI like for EDC, I love that brass and copper knife.

I visited a plant in Canada that was dipping 4-wheeler plastics. It was pretty amazing to watch. -
Anonymous Targets Westboro Baptist Church
TripleDigitRide replied to ironsniper1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As much as I depise the WBC, I find it rather ironic that Anonymous - a group that claims to fight for freedom of speech - is now attempting to quiet the members of WBC. -
Do you mean a Bersa?

Oh, I guess I should have read the entire thread before posting. Still, congrats. -

Man, that is awesome. Maybe I'll get a chance to look at them when/if we meet up on Tuesday. Congrats! -
I went through an ordeal where my 11-year-old daughter poisoned me by adding a mixture of Lysol and ammonia to my jug of Crystal Light. Yes, I got a few big ol' chugs down the hatch before I realized something was wrong. Before the courts would finally grant me full custody of her at age 7, she was subjected to some extremely damaging situations while living with her mother and that side of the family. I knew the likelihood of dealing with psychological and emotional issues was all but a given, but the possibility of being poisoned was something that never crossed my mind. The decision wasn't an easy one (although many on the outside assume it's a no-brainer), but I had her arrested. She (we) went through the process of being locked up, going to court, being placed on supervised probation, therapy, etc. It was a long, heart-wrenching experience for both of us, but I felt it had to be done. We still had our ups and downs for a while, but it all paid off in the end. I still deal with some of the somewhat typical teenage stuff, but we are now closer than we've ever been. It's a constant work in progress, but I'd like to think she will grow up to be a wonderful woman and a productive member of society. Dealing with a child who suffers with mental and emotional issues isn't easy, but much like other illnesses, the first step is the willingness to admit there IS a problem. Where your children are concerned, for countless reasons, that is often much easier said that done.

As one of the commenters said, "Now that's a special kind of stupid."
-
There's no doubt in my mind that we have an issue when it comes to properly treating the mentally ill, but I see an even bigger issue in the number of parents who choose to completely ignore the fact that their child needs help. Many times the mental disorders are noticeable at a young age, but good luck convincing many parents that their child needs help. "Not my little Johnny."
