  1. That's good to know. A co-worker just purchased the tactical model from Nashville Armory. He said it was stamped .233, and the salesman told him what I posted earlier. If Ruger says it's OK, that's enough for me.
  2. Ah, I forgot about that little detail. I think you're right.
  3. I am a member at Gallatin Gun Club. Put your name on the waiting list right away. If there are going to be any openings, they will know by the end of February or beginning of March.
  4. All of my EDC knives must be partially serrated, so the answer is an easy one for me. I could live with or without the tiger stripes.
  5. Here's an informative link to your first question.   http://www.humanevents.com/2011/02/15/223-remington-vs-556-nato-what-you-dont-know-could-hurt-you/   I've always heard that 5.56 in an older mini-14 are a no-go for sure. I have witnessed a few folks using 5.56 in the newer mini-14's. I'm not sure if the improvements to the newer models were good enough to withstand prolonged abuse from the added pressure of the 5.56.
  6. Don't know where, but a thread about this subject has already been started.
  7. That's some good information to know. Thanks for the update.
  8. Gone. I'm gonna have to quit my job and pay closer attention to ammo availability.
  9. I see what you did there. :biglol:

  11. You're doing the right thing for being cautious. You never know who's on the other end of that purchase. This is why many refuse to sell to residents of Illinois.
  12. Cooper is a douchebag.
  13. That's their way of telling you that you don't want to know what the price is.
  14. :biglol: Yeah, that's kinda what I was getting at. I know they do clays at that place off Briley Parkway, but I don't know the name of it or much else about it. I'm not even sure if it's open to the public. I also know Gallatin Gun Club has an area for clays, but becoming a member isn't always easy. And that's a bit of a drive.
  15. Welcome to TGO. Make yourself at home and enjoy your stay.   You can probably find a better deal on a Glock here in the TGO Classifieds section.
  16. I'm not aware of any such laws, but if there isn't, there should be. I think that it's our responsibility as responsible gun owners to help ensure our children aren't able to carry out some of the things we've recently seen in the news. The fact that the mother of Adam Whatshisface didn't do a better job of keeping firearms from her son is beyond me. She obviously knew he was suffering from some serious mental issues, so it's beyond me why she wouldn't keep them properly secured. I've seen other parents in similar situations act just as irresponsibility as she did. Then you have those other parents who are positive their children could not and would not do such a thing. It's simply not worth risking, in my humble opinion.
  17. Are you allowed to shoot clays at Charlie's place?
  18. That's gorgeous, but like you, it's far too rich for my blood, especially for something I'd be afraid to shoot.
  19. I think he was jokingly referring to our solar system, as in our planetary system.
  20. The UPS guy is backed up to the door now. Better hurry and the the overpriced items while you can.
  21. That's basically how things were before my daughter. It is slightly more troublesome to carry a gun around the house, but after years it's become second nature.
  22. Yeah, I feel like I do everything I can. I'm wondering how common it is for gun owners to leave firearms easily accessible to children and anyone else who enters the residence.
  23. In many of these recent news stories involving children who decide to go on a shooting rampage, it appears as if some gun owners find it acceptable to leave their firearms unsecured in the home, even with children present. How about you? While at home, I almost always have a firearm within arms reach. The rest of my firearms are secured in a locked safe. I have a teenage daughter who's been raised around firearms and taught how to safely operate many of them. I would like to think she would never feel the need to go on a shooting rampage, or accidentally shoot herself or someone else. As a responsible gun owner, I feel it's my duty to do everything I can to ensure that never happens.
