Whittaker's just posted this to their Facebook page.     That makes about 40 AR's and 250 stripped lowers in the last few days. Our local shops need to get with the program.

I never said that I agree with their procedures. I was merely sharing my opinion as to why they were handling the situation this way. As far as I am concerned, if they've been watching him for several years, they should have enough to charge him with something before raiding his home and business. Based on what information has been released so far, it does appear this guy was up to some shady stuff. With that being said, the .gov is pretty good at making someone appear guilty before being proven so.

My point is, if there are retailers who are still selling hot items at "normal" prices, they also must be purchasing the hot items from distributors at normal prices, or something pretty close. You're probably not seeing to many normal prices because they are out of stock before you get there.

If the stupid people quit buying at the inflated prices, the prices would quickly return to something that resembles normal.

I purchased a bolt for an AR build, and I want to make sure I order everything else to go with it. Do I need anything other than the firing pin, firing pin retaining pin and cam pin? I'm also in the process of hunting down a carrier with gas key. Will I need anything else? Thanks in advance.

I've spoken with 2 TGO vendors in the last month, and both claimed that distributor pricing hasn't increased that much on most items. The fact that many retailers are still selling hot items (ARs, ammo, etc.) at or near pre-shooting prices makes me believe them.

This story was posted when they first raided his home. The fact that no charges have 'yet' been brought against this man doesn't mean much. The .gov is just making sure they have their ducks in a row before officially charging him with a laundry list of crimes. If they have years invested in watching this guy, the last thing they want to see is him walking on a technicality.
