  1. I don't know the details, but it appears one of the co-owners (Sheriff's Deputy?) decided he no longer wanted to take part in the business practices of the other co-owner. He decided to part ways.
  2. Unless I find someone who can be at Wal-Mart at that time and be willing to split it with me, I'm out of luck. I leave for work at 5:00 am, so being in line at 7:00 am isn't an option. Do they get deliveries on the weekend, or just during the week?
  3. Welcome back!
  4. I met with him Friday and PM'd with him yesterday or the day before.
  5. Weak. I doubt there's any way they could possibly know the gun-rights stance of more than a handful of jurisdictions. And there are plenty of LEOs who believe private citizens should not own "assualt-weapons" and / or high-capacity magazines.
  6. Yeah, if someone has an item priced right, it will sell. If you've had anything related to ARs, AKs, etc. (whole rifles, parts, ammo, etc.) listed for more than a few days, it's likely priced way too high. Even slightly inflated priced items are selling very fast these days.
  7. Ah, I did not know that.
  8. It isn't likely to stop until people stop paying the higher prices. There was zero talk of banning or limiting ammo, yet everyone went nuts.
  9. No. They are purposely made slightly different. You can but an AR-15 and a .22 conversion.
  10. Sadly, there will be a whole lot of that going on as the retards who paid retarded prices begin having buyers remorse or realize they only wanted an AR because they were in fear of a ban that isn't going to happen.
  11. Some people really amaze me. A very beautiful female friend of mine who's in her mid-30's was recently diagnosed with cancer. She's lost her hair and had a lymph node removed from the side of her neck on Friday, leaving a rather large stitched incision. Yesterday, while doing laundry at the shared laundry room in her apartment building, some woman in her early to mid-20's looked at her with a disgusted facial expression and said "couldn't you have covered your head and gross cut on your neck before coming out in public?" Needless to say, my friend was extremely embarrassed and began crying as she ran back to her apartment in shame. She waited until her daughter came home and sent her to finish the laundry. Some people are stuck on stupid.
  12. I wouldn't sweat it. That thing should last very, very long time. Can you move it into place and leave it there, or does it have to be robed every time you want to use it?
  13. Very tragic on so many levels. As they do all too often, the demons won. R.I.P.
  14. That's one good looking slicer and dicer.
  15. It's going to double as a stage for the range strippers. A few of them are big boneded.
  16. That's it! Ban cops and dish out some old fashion vigilante justice.
  17. Probably the most honest and accurate response on the topic, especially from someone who knows how things work n both sides. And as much as some current and former LEOs would like to believe, it doesn't take someone on the inside to know how the inside works. It's funny how us regular folks aren't supposed to be profiling or assume every LEO is bad (we know they're not), but it's perfectly acceptable for LEO to assume we're guilty until proven innocent. And that's exactly what we're talking about when it comes to these stops made by the drug task face or whatever fancy name they give themselves. They are somehow allowed to steal your money first, then leave it up to you to prove you have a legitimate reason for carrying that particular amount cash. This goes completely against the wives tale "innocent until proven guilty". In order to be proven guilty, one would need to go through the courts. Problem is, many of these people are never even charged with a single crime. The cops simply steal their money and/or possessions and send them on their marry way. I don't recall if it was this head or a similar one, but someone mentioned how these people must be guilty because many don't wade through the court system to get their money back. First of all, as someone who's been wrongfully accused of a crime, I can tell you firsthand how damn expensive it is to clear your name. And I lived 10-minutes from the courthouse. Most of people who've had their money stolen live several states away. Between attorney fees, travel expenses for the multiple court dates, lost wages, etc., a person could easily burn through $10,000 - $20,000 trying to get their $10,000 - $20,000 back. In many situations, it's simply not feasible to fight for the money, and the LEOs know this. As a matter of principal, I wish every single one of them would fight to have their possessions returned. It's easy to brush it off and label it as "cop bashing", until it happens to you or someone you know. And I sure as hell wouldn't expect a LEO to agree. Like Dolomite said, it's that "us vs. them" mentality. I try very hard to keep an open mind and not lump all LEO into the same group, but as someone who was forced to go through the system to clear their name, it's not a very easy thing to do. The rest of my life could have been ruined over some of the biggest bunch of bullshit you've ever heard, yet some expect me to brush it off, as if nothing ever happened. I've come a long way over the last 12-14 years, but it's always in the back of my mind.
  18. In my opinion, you'd be much better off in Clarksville than Cookeville.
  19. I'd like to know actual figures regarding the number of vehicles they stop and harass compared to the number of of stops where they actually find something. I drive I-40 between Nashville and Dickson and I-24 between Nashville and Manchester on a very regular basis. This is where those Cocaine Cowboys are most active in this area. I see them searching vehicles on a daily basis, but they're only bragging on the local news every few months or so. Are they really that productive? I happened to be stuck in a parking lot near the side of the interstate a few years ago. They already had this vehicle pulled over when I got there, but I watched the rest of the 2+ hour event unfold. They searched and searched, and even removed the seats from the vehicle right there on the side of the interstate. Although I can't say for are, it didn't appear they found anything, because the "suspects" ended up driving away when it was said and done. Bottom line is, unless they have enough to prove a crime has been committed and arrest the person(s), they have zero right to take any property from anyone. No one wants the average citizen to distrust LEO, yet so many find it perfectly acceptable for LEO to assume everyone they come in contact with is guilty of something. The war on drugs is a complete waste of money, and if it didn't employ so many people, it would have been done away with a long time ago. It's been proven time and time again that they don't care about the drugs, only the money.
  20. I tried living there about 15 years ago, but there was no money to be made. I most liked the fact that it was centrally located between Knoxville, Nashville and Chattanooga. About 1 - 1 1/2 hours from all three. I found the cost of living to be little cheaper than where I was previously living in Nashville (not the greatest part of town, by any stretch), but again, there's no money. I was a driver for one of the large van lines in Nashville. I got a job with the same van lines in Cookeville, doing the same exact job, but had to take an almost $4.00/ hour pay cut. They tried to use the whole "cost of living" BS, but it wasn't that much cheaper. I suffered through a handful of jobs during a 2 1/2 year period, but finally had to come back to the Nashville area so I could make living. I didn't have any children at the time, so I can't speak too much forth schools in that area. When people ask about Cookeville, I always tell them it's a decent area if you're looking for a somewhat out of the way place to retire, or you have an "in" on a decent job. What kind of work do you and the wife do?
  21. The purchase of those should be tax deductible as a charitable contribution.
  22. Sad, but :biglol:
  23. Investigations and words out of the mouths of LEO tell me what you just said is inaccurate. See the investigation into such a stop in Monterey, TN. They can test the money for traces of drugs all they want. Do you have any idea how many lines of coke and meth are snorted through rolled up dollar bills on a daily basis? A whole freaking bunch. I'm sure you've carried around more than a few bills containing traces of drugs and the sweat of a strippers ass. Does that mean you snorted lines of coke from a strippers' ass?
