  1. Some guy (not from here, I don't think) contacted me about some ammo I have listed, and he offered me some reloaded .223 that he bought for .70/round at a local gun show.
  2. If I were on the jury, I'd vote not guilty. End of story.
  3. I went ahead and paid the $29 for the TBI background check. I guess I'll find out how detailed it is when I receive it. Most of the arrests would have happened in or near Wayne and Hardin Counties, which are 2-3 hours from me. In the event I'll need to visit those counties for further information, hopefully this TBI report will give me a better idea of what I need to look for. I'll give an update with what types of information are included in a $29 report, for those who care.
  4. Thanks! Ugly gun, but I'll take just about any free gun.

  6. You better be fast. Gunbot was a great tool before everyone knew about it. And to be honest, I've been notified about in-stock items via email and Facebook at least several minutes before they show up on Gunbot.
  7.  That makes two of us.
  8. I tried doing a search of the Hardin County records, but nothing came up when searching her name, or her son's name. I know both of them have been arrested there. Maybe their system isn't up to date, or I was searching the wrong place.
  9. Looks like he came back the day after starting this thread, then decided to simply move on.
  10. I wish I had that range in my backyard.
  11.     You're it! Thank you for doing this.
  12. Does the $29 background check give info about punishments that may have been handed down after being arrested?

  14. I'm just going to throw this out there as a possible option, and you who know him can decide if you want to go with it or not.   When several TGOers were kind enough to help my friend and daughters in need, most people donated funds via Paypal's "gift" feature. This way no fees are involved. It seemed to be the simplest and fastest way to handle the situation.   The funds are donated and deposited into the account of Don or whoever is in going to be in charge of this. It usually takes 1-3 days for the money to actually be transfered into the bank account of whoever is on the receiving end.    If someone who doesn't use Paypal would like to help out, a check or money order will work, too.   Just my  :2cents:
  15. Is there a way to obtain a background check / arrest record and drivers licence report on someone in the state of Tennessee? I have their name, date of birth and social security number.    And if there is, will it matter that part of the time she was using her married name, and is currently using her maiden name? Or will everything show up for both names?
  16. He has live chickens in his back yard. I think it's safe to say he could use the assistance. In all seriousness, I'm sure we can help in some fashion, even if they don't need financial assistance. It appears that DaveS would have as good of an idea as anyone.
  17. Hush yo' mouf, you filthy reloader, you.
  18. .40/round is about right, considering Wal-Mart sells 100-round boxes of WWB for $40 and some change.
  19. I've been able to stock up pretty good. In the last month or so, I have accumulated the following:   4500 rounds of 22LR from various places/people. Most bricks were about $20, but I did pay $24 for one brick. I paid $8 for several 100-round boxes of CCI.    I bought 5 100-round boxes of WWB .45 for $40/box. I traded them for 500 rounds of 5.56 green tip.    I got a case of PMC .223 for $420   300 rounds of some Winchester 45 grain varmint for .25/round   I have slightly over-paid for a handful of PMAGs, but never over $20 a piece.   I've made some very fair trades for various other calibers, and none were more than I would have paid pre-craze. All was purchased locally.    As has been mentioned before, as long as people are willing to pay, people will continue to ask ridiculous prices. I see some folks listing stuff around here for sale at absurd prices, and I I can't believe when I later see that someone actually paid those prices. I was one of the stupid one's who was not prepared for this latest craze, but I'm not that stupid. I'm not as stocked as some, but I have more than plenty for me, and I am always finding more very fair deals.
  20. A walker is better than a wheel chair. Hopefully that's a good sign. Thanks for the update.
  21. Well, the governor signed the bill this morning.
  22. Our thoughts are with Don and his family. If there's anything his TGO family can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
  23. Here is a good link with most of the information you'll need to know. If something isn't covered, please feel free to ask.   http://www.tn.gov/safety/handgun/handgunfaqs.shtml
  24. I'm pretty certain TN does not require any references when applying for an HCP.
