Can you give me a few example of the phrases or terminology to which you're referring? I don't expect you to dig through 2000 Martin/Zimmerman posts to point them out. Something off the top of your head will do.

You make good points that I can't argue. Now go back through all these threads regarding Zman...and read the hatred. That's my point. If some of the posters on these threads would lighten up on what they type regarding black and white...TGO..I said TGO (not the rest of the world) would be a better race friendly place to be. Just read a bunch of different post Mark. It's there buddy. Change starts here with us. Period! DSWD I'd like for you to point out some of these "black and white" issues you're talking about. I suspect is more of that victimization mentality that's been going on lately. I've read just about every post, and unless I missed them, I don't recall seeing what I think you're insinuating. Being the uncle of two bi-racial nephews, that type of stuff doesn't usually slip by me.

Very good points Sir, and not arguable on my part. I just don't know where the hatred in these threads here come from. Go back and read some of them. I agree 6.8 on most of your issues. You make valid points. It's the hatred "HERE" that's getting me. Peace Out Bro... DSWD Hatred is a strong word, and I wouldn't consider it an accurate representation as to what's been going on here. This is obviously a very hot topic with very strong opinions on both sides. I wouldn't take anything too personally. I couldn't disagree with you any more on this subject, but I definitely don't hate or dislike you or anyone else around here.

The livelihoods of people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton depend on keeping others convinced they are repressed and due reparations. Thankfully both are getting up their in age. The sooner they die off, the better society as a whole will be. Like the issues revolving around gay marriage and religion, the younger generations are far less uptight about the BS. I wouldn't dare say racism doesn't exist, but it's far less common among the younger generations.

It appeared to me that he was trying to clear his name and get out his side of the story, not being a media whore. If I felt like I was wrongly accused of something like that, I'd do whatever I could to clear my name. If it meant I had to do an interview on every channel known to man, so be it.

The only thing interesting about that article is the fact that a black man (OJ) was found not guilty of killing two unarmed white people, then went on to live a fairly normal life. I don't recall a bunch of rabid animals hell bent on taking the law into their own hands. Obviously some people are a little more evolved than others.

Zimmerman Trial: Verdict Reached!

I have a feeling this is going set the race relations back many, many years. -
There were several shattered store windows, American flags burned, at least one police car was trashed. There may have been more, but that's what I can recall.

I sure hope they are wrong. The FBI already said there was no evidence of racial bias.

We need to flood the NAACP and DOJ with requests every time there is a black on non-black crime.

Yes you will.

Or...

It's probably not Matt Cary.

Not that I'm a fan, but while shopping at the Springfield Wal-Mart today, I walked down the junk food isle to see if they were out yet. Didn't see any Hostess snacks at all.

Our subdivision has a neighborhood watch program. Haven't seen any thugs roaming around, so he'd probably get bored. Seriously though, I'd let him stay in my spare bedroom. I'm not scared.

Unless I misunderstood during his news conference last night, O'mara mentioned that the State will be responsible for a good portion of Zimmerman's legal expenses. I'll have to look into that a bit more.

Zimmerman Trial: Verdict Reached!

You're right, he isn't. If he were I'd have no problem explaining to him where he went wrong and would love for him to fill in the knowledge gaps that were not cleared up in the trial. But he isn't here. I am here though and so are you. You just made an accusation on how I raise my kids simply because I believe Zimmerman went looking for trouble. That is a personal attack from you to me for no other reason than having a different opinion to you. It is so incredibly transparent to anyone reading your statement. I can tell you that you are wrong on how I raise my children and I am disgusted that you would stoop to such a low. Absolutely disgusted. It wasn't a personal attack at all. I was attempting to prove just how ridiculous one's opinion can sometimes be. I guess it worked. I'm sure you're a fine parent. -
Zimmerman Trial: Verdict Reached!

There may be outliers, but I gathered the impression that most folks here who don't consider Z a saint of self-defense who can do no wrong, believe there were two dumbasses out in the rain that night. Now me, I'm a coward and I figger the odds of trouble coming my way are high enough that I don't need to go looking for it. :) Right. Would I have gotten out of my vehicle to see which direction Trayvon was headed? Probably not. With that being said, there was nothing against the law about his decision to do so. And there certainly is no evidence to indicate that Zimmerman had any intention of harming Trayvon. My issue is not that some think he was stupid for getting out of his vehicle. My issue is with those who think he deserved to spend even a single day of his life in prison for getting out of his vehicle that night. -

So to say that Zimmerman acted irresponsibly automatically qualifies me as teaching my son to confront and assault someone? Why take this so personal to hurl unfounded accusations on how I raise my kids? Hey, we're all assuming around here. If someone has a difficult time basing their opinions on the law, common sense and logic, I can't help but question their ability to raise children and own guns. My opinion is no more or less personal than your opinion is of Zimmerman. He just happens to not be here to read what some of you are assuming about him. -

No, my son would not have run. And when Zimmerman confronted him I think it would have ended with Zimmerman putting his candy azz back in the truck and waiting on the cops. Yeah, that's probably the same mindset that Trayvon had that night. We see how well that worked out for him. -

What evidence led you to that conclusion? Since we are throwing out assumptions, if they feel Trayvon had no duty to retreat, it's safe to assume this is the same advice they'd give their own children. Yes, it is as ridiculous as it sounds. -

Obviously we have some members who teach their children that it's acceptable to physically assault someone for doing something they don't like. And to think these people own guns. -

Yes he got out of vehicle but who knows who actually assaulted who? Were you there? No. Neither was any other member of this forum. All we know is one person was obviously beaten and bloody, while the other person was uninjured until he was shot. As had been mentioned countless times by the State's own witnesses, Zimmerman's account of what happened that night is consistent with the evidence. There is ZERO evidence to suggest Zimmerman physically assaulted Trayvon first. ZERO! Creating a fairytale in your mind is hardly evidence. -
Zimmerman Trial: Verdict Reached!
TripleDigitRide replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That would involve me jumping out of my vehicle and coming after you simply because I don’t know you. That’s not happening with me; it’s reckless. So, in your opinion, it's now acceptable to physically assault someone for lawfully getting out of their vehicle to make sure everything is kosher in their neighborhood? -

It's interesting how some of you continually insist that Trayvon Martin was completely innocent. Are any of you willing to let me blast you in the nose and beat your head into the ground? It doesn't even need to be a sidewalk, grass will work just fine.
