  1. I raced cars in a "spectator" class, back in the day. At the time, I was one of the very few to break the 100 mph mark in our class. One of my friends/pit crew members said something about it being a triple digit ride. It kinda stuck. The term is also used in the trucking industry. Sadly, I am not fortunate enough to drive a truck that can break the 71 mph barrier, much less hit the triple digits.
  2. Congrats!

  4. The .gov needs to open sweat shops right here in the U.S. They would be great places for those on welfare who claim they can't find work.
  5. I was raised on Giordano's, and I have the waist line to prove it. The food is the only thing I miss about Chicago.
  6. Smooth sailing so far. No traffic at this time of the mornin'.
  7. [quote name="tdoccrossvilletn" post="1024216" timestamp="1377903393"]On a side note why in the world are you going to Dayton OP? Especially down town. There is nothing good there. I am going to pick up something from a fellow TGOer in the morning. Thanks for the tip, fellas. I wouldn't have considered that route. We'll give that route a shot.
  8. I'm looking for the fastest, not necessarily the shortest in distance. Google Maps is giving me to options, both almost exactly the same amount of time and mileage. One is going through the Cookeville/Crossville areas, and the other route is going through McMinville. Is it faster to use secondary roads on those routes, rather that taking the I-24 into the Choo-Choo, then north to Dayton?
  9. I wish I had so many guns that I couldn't remember where they were at all times. Maybe one day...
  10. So says the guys walking around with a defective Smith & Wesson.  :yuck:
  11. Didn't realize someone already posted. My bad.
  12. Or on the receiving end of the ammo bill.
  13. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that more and more people are beginning to think our government has become too big for their britches. Unfortunately for law enforcement, they are on the front lines and easiest to access. The fact that "bad cop" stories are almost as common as local weather reports don't help matters, either.
  14. If you lose friends over a religious disagreement, they were douchebags to begin with.
  15. I believe I would. I know I wouldn't shoot it until it was "fixed", so it wouldn't do me any good just sitting in the safe while waiting for everyone else to get theirs fixed. Maybe it's just me being overly cautious.  I haven't heard anyone complain about the issue, either. If you're not concerned, I'm cool.
  16. I'm a bit surprised that anyone would consider not sending it back for whatever possible issue there may be. It may function properly the first 100 times, but that 101st could bite you when you're least expecting it. If there's a recall, I'm not taking any chances.
  17. Where there some sort of extenuating circumstances surrounding the shootings? Mental illness?
  18. If he had a joint in his pocket during the shootings, they would have probably given him another 30 to life.
  19. I got the picture from their Facebook page. No mention of .17wsm.
  20. Sorry for your loss. You all will be in our thoughts.
  21. Yes, you're still dreaming. Today's shipment. Like someone else mentioned, their buying power is out of this world.
  22. It doesn't add color, but it will obviously darken the wood, similar to those in the picture at the link I posted. Probably not as dark, though. The grips I did were very similar to your, very simliar grain pattern. It brought out the grain perfectly for my taste. Wish I would have saved pictures.   If you do decide on this method, make sure you use Carnauba that doesn't contain any cleaners. natural/pure Carnauba is what you want.   It all depends on what kind of look you're going for. You can stain the grips, let dry, then use the wax. Again, it all depends on what you're looking for.
  23. Here's a picture to give you a general idea of what kind of finish you'll likely get with the Carnauba wax. May or may not be what you're looking for. It will bring out the natural colors of the wood.   http://www.getgrip.com/main/overview/fancy.html
  24. I did a set of grips using natural Carnauba wax. Hand buffed. It takes a while, but man did they look good. It's not slippery, and doesn't crack, peel, chip. If or when the finish begins to wear, simply add another coat or two of wax.
  25.
