  1. I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I'm too lazy to go back and look, so here goes: It's manual. There's a switch behind the grip. Left for the left tube, right for the right tube, and middle to eject a shell without chambering a new round. Pretty cool if it works.
  2. I'm pretty sure the Mod 1 has never even been confirmed to exist as an official designation apart from internet speculation. That being said, my own Mod-1-inspired upper should be here this week or next...lol. It won't be a true clone, because I like my specs better. -10.3" Daniel Defense CHF bbl -DD mil-spec upper receiver -DD RIS-II Mk18 rail -DD full-auto BCG -Centurion Arms HK-style BUIS -BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 charging handle -BattleComp 1.0 muzzle brake -Aimpoint H1 on LaRue mount -Surefire X300 -Gear Sector hand stops at 6:00 and 9:00 -Magpul XTM panels and/or LaRue index clips It's going to sit on my Noveske SBR lower until my stamp for my new "special" SBR lower comes back. When it does, it'll sport a Magpul MIAD grip, a Noveske QD endplate, and either a CTR or ACS stock (don't care much for the SOPMOD). I'll be topping it all off with a Gear Sector single-point sling. If you're not already aware of the smokin' hot deals you can get on DD uppers (including the Mk18), shoot me a PM, and I'll pass along the info.
  3. Etc.? Thanks for the image there, Mac. Anyone know where I can pick up a bottle of mind bleach on the cheap? ::shiver::And to the OP, watch your step. A common tactic in the 4th Circuit is for the woman to file for an Order of Protection in Judge Swann's court. Since you are a gun owner, it WILL be granted, and you will essentially be stripped of both your 2nd and 4th Amendment rights pending a hearing. Bear in mind that the hearing in front of Judge Swann is NOT a criminal trial, so there is no burden of proof for your wife, and you can (and historically most likely will) lose your right to possess a firearm for one full year and be asked to surrender any that you own on the spot without having ever done anything wrong. Typically, once the temporary order is granted, your wife's attorney will let you sweat it out until the date of your hearing, and then offer to make it all go away so long as you're willing to acquiesce to her demands. I would tread lightly and keep things with your wife as amicable as possible, if I were you...
  4. Bingo. The TacLite Pros--as well as the TDU's--are a 65/35 blend of cotton and poly rip-stop. I have the 100% cotton basic Tactical pants in black, khaki, coyote, walnut, and tundra.
  5. Couldn't really tell from the first post, but are you wearing the TDU's instead of the regular classic 5.11 pants? 'Cause if so, those DO hold up much better than the standard pants due to the difference in materials. I've got some black ones that were part of my uniform back when I worked nightclub security on the side, and they've been used and abused and still look pretty much brand new.
  6. What I'm about to say may be considered blasphemy, but here goes... 5.11 clothing is not perfect. There! I said it! I have the pants in just about every color, and they do not hold up well to repeated washing. I still wear 'em all the time because of their utility, but the colors have faded noticeably. Also, for some reason, my 5.11 pants have shrunk more than any other pants I've ever owned. I actually have to buy a size up in both the waist and the inseam in order to avoid what I like to call "The Urkel Effect". And if you're someone who's used to carrying your wallet in your back pocket, the depth of the rear slash pockets might be a little bit uncomfortable and offputting for you. Furthermore, the legs are cut much slimmer than a traditional BDU pant, and this can make ankle carry difficult (if you're into that sort of thing). All that being said, I still wear my 5.11 stuff to work once or twice a week, and all the time on the weekends. Just wanted to give you an honest assessment to consider.
  7. Best. Site. EVER.
  8. I just said that! LOL
  9. It's actually supposed to have a 90-degree selector. It actually states on the page linked in the OP that the guns are manufactured by Walther and imported by Umarex. Don't make me Google it for you. It turns out that Umarex actually OWNS Walther. These guns will be manufactured in Walther's facilities, but apparently, so were the Colts. The only thing HK will be doing is signing off on the license and cashing the royalty checks. Like I said before, I wouldn't trade my 15-22 for anything.
  10. Just to clear up some confusion, these rifles are being imported by Umarex, but they're actually being manufactured by Walther. Also, the high-cap mags will only hold 20 rds., as opposed to 25 for the 15-22. I wouldn't trade my 15-22 for anything, but that's just me.
  11. Thank you for this. Just...thank you.
  12. I'm not the OP, but here's the wife shooting my M&P15-22 MOE (with a few additions) on Thanksgiving. Might just be my favorite gun in the arsenal right now, and that's saying a lot!
  13. Had the pleasure of watching a baldy being attacked in mid-air by a couple of ospreys over Melton Hill Lake two summers back. Every time one of the ospreys would dive down at him, he'd roll over onto his back and fend them off with his talons. Quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen in real life.
  14. When I'm shooting outdoors, I usually just wear my regular Oakley sunglasses because I'm too lazy to swap out. Indoors, I use a pair of Eye Safety Systems (ESS) CDI Max with clear lenses. Very nice ballistic glasses, and they were pimped on 'Special Ops Mission' (with Will Willis--AKA "Whiskey Whiskey") on the Military Channel for those who watched it.
  15. Aaaaaaaaaaaand...there went my whole work day...lol.

    S&W 442

Just now seeing this, but sweet geebus you ain't kidding! Not sure what sadist decided it would be a good idea to shoot .357 out of an 11 oz. scandium-framed gun, but I can honestly say that's the worst thing I've ever shot--including hot-loaded .500 S&W rounds. I did not have my 340 long...lol. On a positive note, I can now shoot +P through my 642 all day long thanks to all the nerve damage...
  17. I have a 16" barrel with a 13.2" rail in my RECCE setup. Very, VERY nice upper. Solid as can be, while also remaining relatively lightweight. Still breaking her in, so I can't comment on the accuracy claims just yet, but I have no doubt that she'll perform as expected. Here's some pics of the complete rifle...

  20. BTW, you should have received a special 'thank-you' package by now. Let me know if you haven't.
  21. I've had one for over 2 months, but I have yet to even take the tags off. I'll keep this thread saved in case no one else responds, as I hope to take it out and break it in sometime soon.

  24. Since I got my pics in early--before we busted out the tape measures and scales--I now feel compelled to report that I am 6 feet 5 inches and 245 lbs. of twisted steel and sex appeal. That is all.
