He was simply taking the temperature of the room to determine whether or not he would be welcome here. Based on some of the ridiculously ignorant posts that I have seen from time to time, I can hardly blame him.Since we're being "realistic", we have to acknowledge that anyone looking at our little community from the outside could quite easily make some not-so-flattering judgments about our membership as a whole based on the words and actions of a select few. I think you'll find that most of the regular posters here have had similar experiences and harbor the same biases against the John Sevier Range--myself included. As you are personally already aware, I'm driving that boat. I pushed the envelope by leaving the new Arsenal AK I bought a couple months back sitting out in the living room. If you're interested in quad-rails, I have a beautiful Specter-length YHM that I'll ship to you for $100. I assume he's running a carbine-length gas system, so he'll need a low-profile gas block (they're cheap) if he doesn't have one already. The Specter-length rail is designed to completely enshroud the gas block, which makes for a nice look IMHO. For about $15, you can also buy a YHM end-cap that screws into the end of the handguard to complete the look, although it's not necessary. Just PM me if you're interested.
