This was actually mentioned on an episode of the The History Channel's "Top Sniper" a few months back, believe it or not. Seems like a win to me. FWIW, it was also noted that the the USMC would be cutting down the barrels and increasing the twist rate on their M40's in the very near future, as I recall.

No problem, and as I was telling someone just the other day, Noveske is still giving away free blem lowers with any upper or complete rifle. Hope that doesn't tempt you too much... Also, to the OP, is the orientation of your hand-stop intentional? Normally, the hand-stop is positioned toward the front in order to prevent the hand from accidentally slipping in front of the muzzle. Not trying to pick on you. Just genuinely curious as to why you preferred it that way.

Congrats from another Noveske super-shorty owner (5.56 Diplomat for me)! Oh, and I have a Geissele SSA also, but it's in my LaRue RECCE. Love that trigger, but not in my CQB gun. The stock Noveske trigger is just fine for that purpose, IMHO.

I vote middy, also. In my mind, the ONLY advantage a carbine has is the slight--and I mean VERY slight--reduction in weight.

Well, it actually goes a little beyond that. There's a school of thought that says that the Bible was not intended to give us the Earth's life history, but only to tell the story of man. This line of thinking concedes that the planet is indeed far older than an overly-literal interpretation of the Bible would lead us to believe, but that the history of life has been marked by mass extinction and renewal. I wish I knew...lol. I have no intention of framing her as 70below and SUNTZU have implied, but I literally haven't had a single opportunity to hit a range since I picked her up. My little girl is playing football this year, and that--along with working 6 days a week and playing competitive softball--is consuming my whole life right now. I'm hoping I might be able to find a little bit of time before the little one's game this Saturday, and I'll post a range report if I can. Until then, she looks awful purty and tacticool, right?

I have one that's black and desert digi-camo that I had custom-made by a member here. It's got a 7/8" SS ball inside the fist, and a little skull with eyes that glow in the dark above it. Nicest fist I've ever seen, and 2 of my friends have bought from him as well after seeing mine.

If massive quantities are your thing, then I would HIGHLY recommend Pizza Inn--directly across the highway from the Expo Center. Their buffet is the best deal going right now. The wife and I ate like fat kids there tonight, but I've got no problem going again.
