I have a different view.   Here in the country I hear strange and unusual noises all the time. Sometimes it's the well pressure tank making sounds, sometimes an animal scrouging on the back deck or something in the basement that tipped over... I've had deer thumping on the side of the house getting acorns out of the bushes along the side of my house (that scared me!)   I go "hunting" for what made the noise as a reasonable person would. Most "hunters" carry a firearm with them when they're "hunting" :up:

Been there done that, THREE times in my life.   The first time I went to the ER and learned my lesson. Several thousands of dollars in medical expense for an x-ray to confirm what I knew, a splint and a Rx for pain medication, not to mention the long long waste of my time.   Unless it's mangled or cut off, not much they can do?

What timing?   Just got mine in the mail today also. I almost tossed it as junk mail as I get lots of "official" looking mail, but learned my lesson awhile back when I tossed my new debit card away as more junk mail and a nice refund check to boot. It worked out surprisingly well for me this year as far as a refund.   Got a $347.00 federal refund and spent it on a s/s Ruger 10/22 carbine with a trigger job and after market bolt release. Total cost including sales tax, Tic, etc. $350.00.   Most expensive hand held club I've ever owned :ugh:

I have a nice Alessi holster that will not break in, period. I've inserted it in the holster with the supplied plastic bag, with two baggies and plastic wrap and let it sit for weeks and weeks. The draw is tight but acceptable when the holster is not worn. Wearing it with the slight bow and it almost requires two hands to pull it out. Over time I've used the whole 1/2 ounce of EZ draw and made little if any difference.   I came to the conclusion it was made to tight and I give up. It's the only holster of dozens I've never had success stretching.

Generally speaking, water sheds and creeks are not privately owned and even have easements. Normally they are public property and regulated / controlled by the state but not sure about Tennessee.

I agree with Caster on the Nikon P-223.   I took mine off my AR-15 and put a Aim Point red dot on it. The P-223 went on my new Ruger 10/22.   I think I seen them at the Walmart counter for $149.95 the other day? No .22 LR to look at anyway...

It should be common knowledge that "hate" consumes people physically and emotionally.

I seen the biggest rack on a deer in my back field in the last four years two weeks ago. It was dusk so I couldn't make out how many points but, the rack was 2-3 times its head size.   I thought the bucks would have shed their antlers a couple of months ago? I believe around here they start growing them around June again?

I'm here to tell you, it happens.   Shooting an IDPA match it started raining hard so, I put on my expensive Gortex rain suit. You know the one, with the Velcro everywhere and the dual draw strings, one at mid waste and the other at the bottom. Those draw strings with the plastic clinchers can easily and do get in the trigger guard and / or holster.   In slow motion I slowly, deliberately and carefully re-holstered each time with my eyes trained on gun and holster. I see these people all the time at the shooting range that speed re-holster without even looking at what they're doing, as Mr. Police Chief can attest. Had he been looking...   Until the next speed re-holstering championships, see ya!

I'm guilty, ninety-nine percent of the time I have a weapon within arms reach of me. Except when going to shower or taking care of my bid-ness. My bid-ness has been known to change the color of the bathroom walls, involuntary nose hair electrolysis and vapors even corroding rubber, plastic and especially metal.   I've never had a problem while on the "throne". It has repelled family and friend alike for decades and I see no reason why my perfume would not repel anyone else?   I'll personally play the 99 - 1 odds and not taint my weapon. Many a friend and family member has gone to the E.R. with internal nose trauma   :up:

It's a sad state of affairs indeed. Study after secular study confirm people who neglect / abuse animals sooner rather than later progress on to humans.   I'm no expert by any means but, I believe children have become desensitized and hardened to compassion and humanity from all the violent music, television, video games, and society in general. It can all be traced back (IMHO) to Federal Government intervention.   Our government and society declaring war on God and removing him from our schools, government, currency, etc. in the name of equal rights and not offending anyone but the Christians? I'm not going to rant on but, it's very clear to me how we got here and where we have arrived and where we are going.   Our founding documents expressed these truths to be self evident, and we have trashed our Constitution and decided we are our own gods.   I pray our nation does a 180 and is healed.

Trust me, I've dug more holes metal detecting than all the gophers have in the history of their species, well almost!   No telling what you might find. I've found everything from small lead toys to valuable coins and rings, to tons of nails, pop tops, tabs and washers. Until you get very good with your detector the majority of your finds will be trash. The screen on even the best detectors like Minelab & White's are not all that accurate in identifying what metal it is, i.e. many nails fall into the silver range and will fool you, gold is in the pop top range.   Tip: The most accurate way to identify what metal it is, is with a good set of head phones (Grey Ghosts are excellent) and sound and practice.   When you get hooked then serious about my proposed new Olympic Sporting Event, since they tried to get rid of wrestling in the Olympics (why not?) You'll Google such things as "metal detecting halo effect" to use to your advantage.   Just like on a cigarette package, metal detectors should come with a warning...   WARNING: THIS PRODUCT CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO A RELATIONSHIP AND SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH. :wave:

Some of my most proud moments occurred during my last year of active service in 1973 with the 101st Airborne Div., 2/17th Air Cav. That year I had volunteered and was selected for burial detail for veteran(s) funerals.   Attention to detail, precision and military conduct were paramount. My class A uniform was flawless with ribbons and attire worn correctly. We spent hours spit shining our jump boots (on our personal time) to a mirror gloss. For some reason the command didn't allow a relatively new military offering, the Patten leather jump boot.   The three of us spent many hours practicing the 21 round drill, military movements, marching, etc. The blanks we used and how undependable they cycled and continuing the salute as if everything was still in order. Meticulously folding the American flag and presenting it to the widow, mother or family member and internally reminding yourself not to let your eyes water or show any emotion, you represent the Army. The honor I felt being a small last part of a fellow veterans internment and the gratitude of the veteran's family still fills my heart.   I believe during that year I participated in around a dozen or so burials. I don't remember a time where the family members didn't invite us to the American Legion, VFW or their own homes for drinks and a meal. As a representative of the uniformed service, with appreciation and respect we naturally had to decline.

Any group or person who publically disrupts or disrespects anyone's funeral for any reason, including Jane Fonda's future internment, IMO, is of the lowest moral character and is reprehensible.   Our American flag is a symbol of our great nation and our loved one's who have fought and died, got disfigured and maimed for life to protect our freedoms, loved ones and posterity. Either you respect it's symbolic meaning for which it stands or you don't.   Speaking as a veteran, I've fought for other's freedoms I don't necessary agree with, but non-the-less contrary to popular belief, freedom and individual rights are not free. If I were in attendance at a military veterans funeral and the flag was not draped correctly, I would immediately be the first to correct it and admonish those responsible. God forbid, if I were in attendance at any funeral where intentional disrespect and disruption were openly shown by individual(s), especially a veteran or loved one... It would be my duty and my honor to serve out the punishment twelve of my peers might impose on me in a court of law.   If these groups of clowns believe they have the "moral right" to disrupt or disgrace a military funeral or veterans funeral, sooner or later they're going to run into a veteran with an attitude on such.   If you can't tell, I may not like many of our politicians or the direction our nation is heading but... I'm damn proud of our military, our veterans and their loved one's. I'm especially proud and indebted to those that gave their last measure of self, suffer life long emotional and physical trauma and their families.   I'd like to see an accurate poll of Americans who think Veteran's Day is more about bar-b-que  than those that served our nation?   Rant / Off

 Ummm, actually it's not for me under the current circumstances, 9mm is cheaper.   There's no .22LR ammo to be found around my neck of the woods, period. When you occasionally find it at a decent price there's always a limit of 1-3 boxes, then you add on shipping. If I lived closer to a major city I would be getting some on occasion maybe.
