  1. My bad - not sure what I was thinking this morning. Iin the instance of filing estimated quarterly taxes it makes perfect sense to apply the refund against the upcoming quarterly payments. Carry on!
  2. I have no clue why anyone would want to let the government keep YOUR money for an entire year, earning interest on it, and you not having use of it for a year...

    Off-Road 4x4

I was shooting for good approach and departure angles... while working within the confines of the existing chassis.

    Off-Road 4x4

I worked on the buggy a little more last night... not much - but came up with a nose design I think I can live with: Let me know if the pics don't show up... I can see them, not sure about anyone else.
  5. It's only pointless to people who can't grasp the concept of an intellectual discussion about a topic.
  6. WBC did not win, WE ALL WON. And I think Alito drew the short straw and had to be the odd man out
  7. Did you call them? I don't see that on the flyer, if so I'll delete it.
  8. Doing away with the hunting and fishing section? Isn't that like 1/3 of the store? That seems insane.

    Anyone do cars?

I am into 4x4's, the far superior relative to the lowly "car"... does that count?
  10. Posted elsewhere, just passing it on...
  11. Read. Your. Employee. Handbook.
  12. Agreed! I think I am going to just pick up a DPMS upper for mine and see how I like it, then maybe do a lightweight build.
  13. Gotcha... could be. If you want a contact for the guy I got mine from, I think last time we talked he had some in stock and ready to ship.
  14. What does "supposed to have", and "shifty people" mean? I know of several hundred out there in use, and haven't heard of anything bad out of them.
  15. That sounds like an excellent plan
  16. When I come to an artist and pay him to create art based on what I want, that he would not have created without me commissioning it - am I the creator of the art, or is he? I don't think it is a stretch to say that I created the art, and he was merely the "bricklayer" who put the "architect's" ideas into action.
  17. I don't think it is all that difficult to understand. The commissioner of artwork owns *that* artwork. Generally speaking - owning *that* specific instance of artwork does not give the commissioner license to recreate that artwork and profit from it as they see fit. The same applies to a building whose design was commissioned by an architect, or any other similar case.
  18. Got tired of layering on the urethane, so I'm calling it done. IMAG0859 by the.drm, on Flickr IMAG0860 by the.drm, on Flickr I think I'm happy with how it turned out, and I may have to practice some more on some of the single shot shotguns in the safe I really don't care about
  19. I was using a wipe-on urethane at first, then yesterday I did 2 coats of a strap on polyurethane I found in the shop. Thicker, but I ended up with some runs - ugggggh. Sanded those down, and did another coat of wipe-on again to get back my satin finish. I think I'll do 2 more coats of wipe-on per day till Sunday then call it good for now. Pics of the completed rifle will be posted then.
  20. See, now this is what I can't stand: Teachers and their supporters threatening the people who give them jobs. I have no problem teaching my children. Were I able - I'd bring my kids home and teach them myself. I might not be as good as some teachers, but I am quite confident I could do as good a job as most of them, and a fair bit better than more many. Not only would I feel entirely comfortable teaching my own children, I have every intention of some day becoming a teacher myself. From the outside looking in - 90% of the difficulties with today's "teaching" has to do with the SYSTEM itself. It seems that the system is designed to introduce hardships. So maybe instead of threatening parents and other citizens who employ teachers, why not work together to fix the system?
  21. You and I are about the same age. Let's assume you start your public sector job the same time I start my private sector job. Now fast forward 25 years. Why is it "jerking the rug out" if we take away your pension, but it's not "jerking the rug out" if my taxes went up to cover your pension? Doesn't that mean less money in MY pension (retirement income)? I'm not faulting you for trying to protect yours, but surely you can see that I want to try and protect mine, too.
  22. You just keep thinking that, Robert
  23. That's a tall order... good luck
  24. Because the alternative is to balance the budget at MY expense. It's the classic battle of you trying to protect yours, me trying to protect mine.
