Actually - yes I do. Several months back I was at Lowe's and saw a $399 tool box set. I took them to the checkout, and asked the guy at the register for the "Super Awesome Person Discount". He said "what"? So I repeated myself. He then asked how much this discount should be - and I told him 20%. He called the manager over, did a price over-ride, and I got my tool box set for 20% less than the ticketed price. My momma always told me "You might not get what you ask for every time, but you'll never get it if you don't even ask." EVERYTHING is negotiable. EVERYTHING.

So... it would be fair to say you feel you are entitled to it? I'm sorry you believes SSI was a "Retirement" plan. I have known since I was 12 years old that SSI would never be there for me. Now I look at my own 3 kids and realize their future is being destroyed by the exact entitlement mentality you have. I'm not blaming you, I'm simply saying this: These government programs are unsustainable, period. So you and I can be responsible citizens, and suck it up and start fixing it NOW, or we can pile it on the backs of our children and their children so we don't have to feel the pain. Are you ready to be a responsible citizen? I know I am. And if that means I have to suffer some to save my kids and the rest of their generation from suffering - I'm ready to do my part. Bring on the pain NOW, not later when it is magnified hundreds of times.

Cound't have said it better myself. No way I could have sent the guy to prison. He didn't start the fire, he just put it out.

Got better things to do with my time and money than waste it at a gun show... Never find any decent deals, and the people are... odd.

So how much actual yard do you need to cut that you want to look like a "yard"? A good used walk-behind (With a stand-on sulke/velke) is not a bad option. Just keep in mind that just because it is a zero turn, it's not necessarily "fast". In fact, many of the residential mowers have pretty weak drive pumps, and they just aren't very fast at all. To get the speed - and a decent cut at that speed - the answer comes back around to getting a commercial grade mower. And the simple fact is that a good commercial mower - used in a residential setting - will practically last FOREVER. No more buying a new mower every few years when it falls apart, etc.
-
I've got a lonely lower... anyone wanna supply links to dedicated upper options in .22 flavor?
-
Residential zero turns are JUNK, just like residential riding mowers are JUNK. Buy a new commercial mower or pick up a used one - you'll thank me for saving you the trouble. If you don't want to listen to that advice, then at least follow this advice: If the mower has a *stamped* steel deck, it's JUNK. If it has a welded steel deck, you have half a chance of the mower lasting more than 2 seasons. A good 3pt finish mower is another option that would probably serve you well. Is all 6 acres "yard"? Or is part of it yard, and the rest just needs to get cut?

I can't dove or duck hunt with my carry gun. I can't hunt rats at my friend's farm with my deer rifles. I can't hunt deer with my "plinking" 22s. I can't plink with my shotgun. I can't EDC my AR. I have different guns for different uses, and some guns - i just have to have. Who cares if I don't shoot them all, regularly, I consider them investments. Since I generally buy them for a "deal" of a price, they are all worth more than what I paid for them - and generally speaking, they won't ever be worth less.

Been watching it... Sticking it out for now, but it better get more interesting with less <drama>.

The BG in this setup was clearly focused on taking out the teacher then IMMEDIATELY taking out the known armed student. Watch both clips - the shooter clearly ignore EVERYONE else that is running around. In one shot in the #1 video that is shot from the BG's POV, you can clearly see the BG fire on the teacher, immediately turn to the KNOWN armed student, HOLD fire as a student passes between them, IGNORES the students standing with arms raised, and shoots the crouched armed student. 6:56 or so mark into the Part One video. Absurd.

All inexperienced, or relatively inexperienced. None currently carry or practice carrying. All using borrowed and unfamiliar guns, holsters, and baggy shirts GRRRRRRRRR

Where do you even start with all the flaws in that? Only one armed good guy - why not 2? Good guy was always in the same spot? Bad guy KNEW there was a good guy, and where he was? It's almost too frustrating to see what a lame "experiment" this was just on those few flaws.

I tend to let the person who owns the gun call it whatever they want. After all, they are armed - and it's the polite thing to do.

What about people who gripe about the people who gripe?

It amazes me why anyone would not support this.

Don't come towards the Maury County side of Spring Hill - I shoot all male intruders on sight and take hot females in as concubines to assist in re-populating the planet with super-awesome mini-me's... Just doing my part you know...

Yeah, I read that. So? This thread *is* about the government wanting to mandate this, correct? So that's what we are discussing, correct?

Actually, I criticized people's situational awareness for *focus*ing on the screen, not for using a device. As an extra auditory alert, the sensors are just fine... but they do not, and should not replace situational awareness, which - IMHO - is what a back-up camera does. How MANY kids? Is this really an event of epidemic proportions, such that new laws and new costs need to be put into place? Especially when that new device actually draws your attention AWAY from the real world and causes you to focus on a digital screen image? Sorry it has happened to your family. But I don't tend to make decisions or form opinions based on anecdotal evidence and emotional arguments.
-
Not sure where you learned to drive - but people have been backing up cars for over 100 years without back-up cameras, and I'm pretty sure we haven't killed a gazillion kids on bicycles... yet. Besides, I didn't suggest we "ignore" anything, which is why I said the backup sensors are a good idea.

NC star red-dot: Dont waste your money
DRM replied to M4sherman's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
So what did NcSTAR say when you contacted them for warranty replacement?
