  1. Not to be a complete and total thread hi-jacker, BUT... I'd be worried there were legality issues with painting a working firearm orange, considering that all "toy" guns are required to have the muzzle painted bright orange to signify that they are toys, and not real.
  2. Ummm.... no, I think I'll pass - thanks! Are you questioning the motives of my shotgun? I saw him giving me the evil eye earlier in the evening, and I think I heard him complaining to the compressor about the lack of heat in the shop this winter. I think he's got it out for me...
  3. lol... Oh, and I was just informed by another friend I can no longer use the saying "guns don't hurt people - people hurt people".
  4. Unpossible - my head is far thicker than my knee
  5. No weapons were actually discharged in the harming of this poster's knee. Only a half-a-golfball sized knot and a tender knee is there to remind me that things up high tend to fall... down...
  6. I was out in the shop cleaning last night. About 2 hours in, I was over by the compressor and was trying to organize one of the work tables when I must have bumped up against the wall where the shotgun was hanging. The next thing I know, I see it fall and then BAM - right into the inside of my right knee. So is a non-op. short-barrel shotgun falling off the wall of my shop, bouncing off the air compressor, then ramming barrel first into my knee considered an accidental discharge? I almost cried
  7. Thanks - I was new to this and was happy to see ti turn out so well. I will be picking up some clay working tools for next year for sure. Hey Tungsten - don't mess with my head like that! I log on and start wondering if I got drunk and started a new thread and don't remember it... shoot, I don't even remember getting drunk
  8. Hey Junglist - if this was a "photo taking" contest, your one on the dimly lit porch would win hands down so far - love the way that one turned out. Come on guys - don't be scared off, carve something up and submit it. Be like Nike: Just DO it!!!
  9. Whaaaa... ju think I outsourced a 'TGO' logo pumpking to some guy in India or something?
  10. I've sold thousands of items on eBay in the last 10 years, however since PayPal became "it" on there I have gradually dropped off selling there almost completely except for specific items where I know the profit I'll get on ebay will make up for the fees and headaches involved. Craigslist and local(ish) forums (like this one) I have found to be superior for selling quick and LOW on the headache scale.
  11. I know people who have mentioned key words (gun, firearm, pistol, etc.) in their PayPal correspondence and the seller has consequently had their account locked.
  12. Can I mediate? I do a mean Charlie Gibson...
  13. http://www.revolutionmoneyexchange.com is another option that (last I looked) was very gun friendly in their policies.
  14. I'd feel a lot dumber if I shot myself
  15. Good call.
  16. BTW, I'm laughing to myself right now, picturing people walking around talking with each other at the OHGC which holding their rifles outstretched and upright like Saddam pictured above
  17. Shooting yourself in the head with a rifle takes mad skillz - which is why I'd rather see a rifle pointed up than down I think on a handgun - I'd be more inclined to go with the ground option. That's the ticket - we need different rules for long vs. short guns!the AWESOME solution to clarifying the situation !
  18. No porn, sir... pure, 100%, American "I've got an opinion about everything and not afraid to type it" right there :D
  19. From another forum I'm on, one that turned *off* posts to the off-topic section about 5 years ago... Call me when you reach 5 digits
  20. Ah, but I view it like this: The odds are greater in the event of a fired round that i can get under cover of a *falling* round faster than I can move my foot/leg out of the way of a fired projectile. EDIT: Well, it seems the original question was a loaded one, and I stepped right in front of it. That's what I get for not reading all the way down, *and* between the lines...
  21. So how many names of people who have had their accounts locked for buying/selling gun *related* items do you want me to send you? That may be what they say, but the fact is I have seen them lock accounts for gun accessories and ammo.
  22. Yet another reason why I've all but stopped using PayPal, and eBay as a result.
  23. I look at it this way... With the participation so far, even *if* mine is better - as long as you make one and submit it you're guaranteed to take home *something* :D
  24. Awful lot of typing... not much carving
  25. Then why would a 3rd site be useful in the least?
