I'm up for a 2009 contest, but at the current time I'm just asking about the 2008 prize status
-
You volunteering to be the first? If not - that's a pretty easy thing to suggest someone *else* to do.
-
Update?

When I was doing mine, I did a simple spreadsheet to keep track: http://www.4x4spot.com/images/guns/AK_compliance_worksheet.xls The link posted above though is pretty cool.

How on earth can you say that when their policy is CLEARLY anti-gun? I know several people who have had their accounts locked and closed for selling gun RELATED items. How on earth you people can claim that is anything but "anti-gun" is beyond me. Anyway - to keep on topic... https://www.revolutionmoneyexchange.com/ I've used it a few times - and several of us from another gun related forum have not found anything in their TOS that is even remotely anti-gun, nor have we found anything that comments on restrictions for gun related purchases or transfers. Just tossing out another option.

So what did you do while you couldn't access TGO during the server move?
DRM replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
in Arkansas needlessly assassinating ducks and geese starting on Thursday, and just got home 2am this morning (Sunday). Never even noticed it was "down" -
With all of that black, it looks very evil. Obama says you should turn yourself in - for the better good of the people of course.
-
Me - I'd just cut/weld/grind/paint and have something work out... but not everyone approaches their guns like I would...
-
About 2pm on Tuesday (12-23-08) afternoon? I heard you talking TGO... I just chuckled and kept quiet

You call this stuff personal attacks? lol... Well - all I can say is that I was an SE in the GWTD branch of the CE, and darn proud of it. Later, I advanced to the rank of GMAIG and finally was discharged with honors after 9 years of service. I'll leave you smart peoples to figure them apples out, and wish you a Merry Christmas in the process

I stopped by GFA yesterday and was eyeballing an XD9, or an M&P 9.
-
That's what I was getting at - the Nodak receiver is already registered as a rifle, and if he did his own flat, it can be either.
-
Build one on a flat?
-
Using your same logic - is half educated Barney Fife going to cuff and stuff you for 18.5" and just buy you a coke and a piece of pie for 19"? Besides - what are you doing carrying around a shotgun in the car anyway?
-
Are you people that bad at measuring? I understand the tinfoilparanoia and all, but I see no reason to add an entire inch "to be safe". If you're worried - make a simple go/no-go gauge. if it fits between it - it's too short. if it doesn't - you're fine.

Actually, the shelved area could make a PERFECT way to conceal a door if you could work out a way to hinge the shelves to the door.
-
Actually it is... product reviews, free stuff, insider info, paid gigs - it does have it's perks

I've been using "DRM" on websites and forums back to 1994, and have logged in excess of 70,000 posts to various forums. I'd be surprised if you have been using it longer - or have people across the country who know who you are just by those 3 letters like I do. Aside from that - I am thankful for Digital Rights Management - it makes tracking me(us) easily on the internet just a tad more confusing to the non-professionals

Additionally, the staircase itself is generally pretty well built out of 2x's, probably best not to go cutting into that to degrade some of the best strength of the "hiding place".
-
in one of my parents' house when I was younger, there was a 90* angled staircase, and below it was a coat closet (approx 3x3). at the back of that closet, was a half height door that went the rest of the way into the empty space under the stairs. You'd never know the door was there unless you moved the vacuum and pushed all the coats aside, and there was enough room in there for a family of 4 - tightly - and some supplies. if one needed more room, I'd suggest expanding down into the crawl space for weapon or supply storage, or even a second exit door out through the crawl space. I think doing something like this is going to be easier to do than the idea you have of lifting up an entire staircase, assuming you can create access through a closet as I described.

oops - answered my own question. http://www.rkshows.com/ Guess it's there after all. On, and a $1 off admission coupon on their site too.

So I take it this is the last one this weekend? I didn't see the signs out by the interstate on my drive home, but it's still listed on Bob's website. Anyone know?

What benefits do I get for being a "benefactor" to the site (other than the obvious "the site gets to stay open")? I ask this because in my experience in setting up pay structures for forums, there have to be clear incentives for one to pay $$$$ into the system, rather than just logging on. Some ideas that may or may not be already in use: -Only paid members can upload pictures -Search limits for non-paid members -Ad banners from places like Google, with paid vendors in rotation -prominent vendor section (top of the forum list) corresponds with premium vendor fees -promotion of a culture of "stop freeloading, get your membership" -Get the word out about the forums elsewhere to increase membership I don't know specifically what this place costs, what the "benefactor" ratio is, or anything else - but for a site to be successful, you have to approach it just like any other business. I do know that Google ads pay for about half of my annual hosting costs for my own website, which isn't bad considering I don't really get the traffic I used to get to it, and I don't have the big page impressions you get from running a forum. For me personally to put money into something - I have to see a tangible benefit or reason for my money to be well spent. On some sites - I pay to be a member so I have access to their HUGE forum search database. On others, it is to have access to premium classified forums that really move product. Rarely do I support out of charity - mainly because personally, my charity is devoted to other forms. Just some ideas to toss out, hope it helps.

I know this was asked in the "handgun" section, but it still seems like a pump shotgun without a shell chambered is a better solution. Personally - I think locked or unloaded guns are nothing more dangerous than my shoe, or a baseball bat
