I signed up a few months ago - all it has gotten me so far is 2-3 NRA spamming emails *per day* and no confirmation I am actually a "member".
-
I came real close to pulling the trigger on that - then realized I already waste enough time in front of the TV and that would just make that situation worse.

Jason - where are you putting in/taking out of the Duck? I have used River Rats for canoe rentals since they are just down the road a few miles - but only for rentals of their gear. I picked up a 12.5" family style canoe last summer, and just got a sit-on kayak this spring, and I'd LOVE to go. I'll email you, and would definately be interested in hitting the water some time...

I've been a member of a gym for a few years - haven't been in almost a year. About 2 weeks ago, I went back in and started hitting the elliptical pretty hard. That first night - I did 30 minutes @ about 5mph. Slacked off a few days, next was 45 miniutes. Last night, I did 30 min. on the elliptical, 15 min on the treadmill, then another hour on the elliptical - no breaks. I think it was a bit over 7 miles total. This morning I did another 30min/2.5miles on the elliptical before work. My biggest problem right now is intermittent foot pain after about 20-30 minutes on the elliptical or treadmill. I've tried a variety of shoes - I think I'm going to head to Fleet Feet in Brentwood this afternoon and see if I can get measured and find something that fits. I was a sprinter and wrestler in HS... graduated 6'2" tall and 150 lbs Currently the same height, but weighing in at 230 some 15 years later. I'd love to get down to about 200lbs, but to be honest - I'm not worried about weight any more, I just want to be fit and HEALTHY. I figure weight will work itself out if I focus on health. Oh, and I'd love to run a marathon some day - I just don't know if I can pull it off. Maybe I'll start with a 5k and see how bad that is.

Saw the elusive Carry Badge!!!! (well about 6)
DRM replied to Wrangler's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I've got the answer... It worked for toy guns, right? -
I'd guess I have a LOT less than many of you - somewhere just north of 2500 rounds in various calibers... But nowhere near enough to require a spreadsheet to keep track.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more said about the spiritual aspects of the book.

figure on adding another $100 for a barrel, $100 for a receiver, and you're $350 into it and it's not even assembled. Add another $75 for a compliance parts kit, $20 for a US made brake, and another $30 or so for a pair of 30 round mags. Now you're approaching $500 - still not assembled. I don't have a clue what the "builders" charge to assemble, but I'd guess $200+? Don't know about you... but $700+ for a nothing-special AK doesn't seem too appealing.

I still have my Ak74 and NoDak Spud receiver I need to put together - I'm just lazy. I also have a couple of flats I bent up - 47's and 74's... What are you calling a "good deal" on an AMD? As far as putting one together with a bought receiver - it ain't rocket science, and there are no special tools needed as long as the barrel is still in the front trunnion.

It's a woot-off... that means they are gonna list item after item today (may go 2 days) right after each other as they sell out of each item. Not their normal "one item per day" type sale.
-
Uhhh... not quite the same. Take a look at what has already been sold since midnight - sure there are some junk items and refurbs - but they sell some quality stuff at great deals too. Woot: The Community: The Community
-
Yes - daily tours leaving from the country store across from the plant.
-
LOST ended it's season last night, but obviously I'm still watching...

-
Woot : One Day, One Deal (SM) - first item @ midnight was 3 of the Sansa 512mb MP3 players w/ headphones and FM receiver for $17... shipped. Already had $90 Ipod Nano's on there too... keep an eye out today if anyone is still looking for one

For some of us swapping to poly stock is easier to meet compliance parts... but I agree - the wood generally looks better.
-
I haven't ben to tour JD, but my cousin is Master Distiller down the road at George Dickel - and I recently took my wife and kids on a tour there... And I agree - the barrel storage facilities was a breath of fresh air
-
I've got 2 left from the couple hundred I bought last year... PM me if you are interested. And make sure you report back how she shoots

So what does one of these kits start at, price wise?
-
Personally - I would have just called the manufacturer myself and gotten it taken care of that way. But I guess if a store - like Hero Gear - chooses to go above that and resolve the issue themselves (love the upsale - I'd probably take advantage of that!), I guess they can.

We're on the same page If this was my "home board" - I'd be more than happy to pony up the money, as I do on the board I spend 90% of my time. Shoot - maybe me sitting here talking about will convince me to donate
-
I think "benefactor only" deals are great, but I think hiding them in the benefactor area is missing out on a great opportunity to sell that "benefit" to those who might like to get in on that kind of deal. I mean - how can I *want*, what I don't know is there to want?
-
That's a perfectly valid reason I *could* donate, you are correct - whether I am no here a lot or not. Shoot, if a person stopped by just *once* and while here, perceived to gain some bit of information of great value, then even one visit could be enough to justify a donation. Just saying that so as not to dissuade others from donating, should they feel the need

I had an $1,400 problem with them a few years back - it kind of tainted my view of them... But more than that - as an eBay seller, I grew VERY tired of them sucking me dry coming, going, and any other way they could. But hey, I still use them... sparingly...
-
Personally, it's not an issue of how to pay - it's an issue of the $ amount vs. the perceived return. Again - this is based on my view of the return I get on my money. And admittedly - I'm cheap. REAL cheap. Plus I really don't spend a *lot* of time here. I know last night I was finishing cleaning up the attic, and organizing my meager stash of ammo, when I came across a partial box of 40 S&W... and I don't have anything to shoot it with any more. I would have liked to have posted it up here to do some trading on some ammo I *could* use, and help someone else out who can't find 40 S&W... I'm not going to pay $20/$35 to sell $10 worth of ammo I'm sure I'll get flogged for stating that, but that's just how it breaks down for me 'n mine.
