  1. My first pistol was a fullsize .40 Hi-Point. Functioned fine - but man was that thing HEAVY.

    PLUM CRAZY

Just found their site - I'll have him look into it.

    PLUM CRAZY

No, but a good friend is. The place I got mine from sent me their last one, as I think these things are getting popular due to the price point. I think it's time I check with him on getting a few more of these into the area for people who want them to blow up in their faces

    PLUM CRAZY

Mine shipped out today, should be here by Friday. "Oh noes - it will dun blowd up your face!!!!1" We'll see. $125 shipped to my door (wish I had gotten in on them for $99 shipped when they first released). Now if JSE would only get complete assembled uppers back in stock for $325, I *might* be able to put together a complete AR for UNDER $500... new. Another forum I am on had a user get one of these for a dedicated lower for his single shot .50bmg upper - lol.
  12. You have a TTB Dana 44 front.
  13. Ouch... diff-splosion crossed my mind, but I was running with the info you gave. A new R&P and setup (hopefully you can save the differential itself) will run you anywhere from $400 to $1000, more if someone thinks you are a sucker.

    Rossi Youth combo

It is my understanding that Rossi matches the barrels up to the receiver at the factory, and if you want to add the extra barrel (which they sell as a "Trifecta" BTW) you have to send it to them to get it and have it matched up as well. Again, that is my understanding while looking at purchasing them for my kids.
  15. As someone else said - whatever is on sale, and none of it "matches". Tree trunks are pretty much the only thing in the woods with straight lines the length of a human or longer. So anything you can do to break up those long lines is generally going to be enough to get the job done.
  16. All of these I made form "found" material on the banks of Kentucky lake while hiking with my kids. I can knap if I have to - but these were used as-found, no knapping took place. The wet twine dried hard and tight, making for a good solid attachment. The bamboo shoots were a little light, but again - I was working with what was washed up on shore. Even with the natural edges you see, I had no problem getting several inches of penetration into my archery "block" target at 5-10 yards when throwing. BTW, these were my FIRST attempts at ever making a spear. I'd have to think that with some time, patience and access to materials a decently deadly arrow or spear could be made without too much trouble.
  17. I dunno... I'm no "crack shot" with anything, but I bought my first compound bow less than 2 weeks before bow season this year, practiced maybe 5 times, shooting less than 100 shots - and was deadly enough to drop the first doe that walked in front of me with a not-too-terrible shoulder shot @ about 20 yards: Then again, that is with modern sights - not shooting by "feel" with a long bow. Still, If I had to choose in a long-term survival situation, I'd probably take the bow. It might be ugly - but I think I could figure out how to make a decent arrow (or even a replacement long bow) at lot easier than figuring out how to make gunpowder and projectiles.

    Off-Road 4x4

1200 sq/ft of shop space, that somehow manages to fill itself up to the brim with all manner of... crap. Then, I end up working outside in the gravel... go figure.
  19. Don't be silly... Like this, but more nuts.
  20. I think I caught 2 episodes of that show one evening. Nothing really stellar there to watch, so I'm not surprised it didn't get renewed. I mean - seriously - what else are they supposed to cover in a second season? 2 things I did enjoy about the show: 1. Kate & Hate + 8 having a total meltdown on the camping trip and bailing out early, despite the fact that her kids were having a ball. 2. Sarah lounging around the house in some reeeeeeeeally short shorts
  21. Nah, you can do it cheaper Hubs - about $77 to your door - MileMarker Supreme; Manual Hub-RH1 Spindle nut kit (2x) plus shipping for about $30 - Poly Performance JEEP/TRUCK & BUGGY :: Steering :: Knuckles & Inner Cs :: Dana 44 Knuckles & Inner Cs :: Parts Mike Dana 44 Spindle Nut Kit - 4X4 Off-Road, JK Synergy Suspension Systems, Fox Racing Shox, Beard, CNC Brakes, Johnny Joints®, Currie Ente And that was just 30 seconds of searching online - You should be able to do this for under $120 out the door - and that includes some paper towels, bearing grease, and rubber gloves. Your local auto parts store should let you rent/borrow the torque wrench and hub socket - worst case the hub socket is another $15 online. Then again - I'd personally disassemble that one OEM hub first, clean, re-lube, and function test it and see if that fixes your problem without spending a dime
  22. Partially melted squirrel tracks is my best guess.

    Off-Road 4x4

I have a shop, and generally do most of my own stuff - but an opportunity came up to do some trading of some other parts for some labor with another local guy why has been building some outstanding vehicles lately. On top of that - I'm short on time lately, so this works out for me. He's going to get it to rolling status - and I'm going to finish it up from there.

    Off-Road 4x4

Thanks! Top half is a "re-purposed" F-toy chassis, we will be building a fully custom tube lower half chassis and sub-chassis, 4 linked front & rear, coilovers, etc.
  25. Ford's auto locking hubs suck, plain and simple. They suck even worse when you don't use them much (I bet you don't use 4wd much, do you?). You can try pulling the one locking up, cleaning, re-lubing, and reinstalling - assuming it is just froze up, and nothing internally is broken. Or - a pair of Warn (no need for the Premiums - get the standards) should run you about $100, tops -and are pretty easy to install (but you do lose the auto-locking function, meaning you will have to lock them in or out manually every time you want four wheel drive). I think on those you will also need a new set of spindle nuts since the auto locking hubs use a different one - but I haven't replaced any in years so my info may be fuzzy there. I'd say bearings are a possibility - but the fact that you got it to un-freeze has me leaning against that. If it's still froze up, you can try reverse to get it unfrozen to at least get you somewhere you can pull that hub off to free it up and get you home. But I say it again - use 4wd more often and it reduces the chances of this happening since you are not giving it time to freeze up like that. Good luck - replacing them is really not hard at all.
