  1. Thanks for the response DaveS. That answered what I needed to know perfectly. Thanks a lot!
  2. Wow this was loaded with great info. As someone that's going to start out this year, this is a great read.   I've got a few questions that maybe someone can help me out with. If I get anything good enough (or anything at all haha) and want to get it mounted, how do I go about it? Do I need to do anything special, besides just field dressing it? Do I just bring it to a processor and tell him I need the head back, so I can bring it to a taxidermist?   Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I was thinking about heading up there tomorrow for a bottle of their regular stuff and apple pie shine. Glad you posted this, now I'm defiantly going.
  4. I've had a few bad experiences at this place and with the owner. First was him telling me he'd get some prices on stuff and call me back. Didn't call back. I called again and he promised to call me back in the next 30 minutes, again never called back. Second time I was looking at trading in a AR and buying a pistol. Long story short he offered a price and then a few hours later went back on it. Also this is 100% my opinion, but I don't like the guy. Well I was in the store some regular people came in and he acted like their best bud, only to trash talk them after they walked out. I don't think he has to like everybody, but that's not the kinda guy I'd ever call a friend.
  5. I'm sure a lot of you guys got this same letter. Just thought I'd post this response to show where she stands on our 2nd amendment.     Dear Mr. ______,   Thank you for contacting me regarding gun laws in light of the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday, December 14th.  As a former educator and grandmother of elementary students, my heart breaks for the families of the 20 children and 6 adults whose lives were taken all too soon and my prayers remain with the community for comfort and healing in the days ahead.    While I believe that this tragedy warrants a serious discussion on what can be done to prevent future school violence, I do not believe that greater government restrictions on gun ownership offer a viable solution. In the tragedy of Newtown, Connecticut, for example, the individual who carried out these heinous acts did not have a criminal background and the weapons used to carry out the massacre were legally registered to the gunman's mother, thus greater gun control laws would not have impeded his ability to carry out his actions.    Instead, we must focus our attention on strengthening families and empowering parents to provide safe home environments and to recognize aggressive behaviors early on. A New York Times study found that 63 of 100 rampage killers made threats of violence before the event occurred. We must engage parents and teachers in being aware of these warning signs so that we can help stop these tragedies before they occur.  Additionally, we must curb the trend of desensitization to violence, profanity and other high-risk behaviors glamorized by videogames and movies that often consume children's time, and shift to a culture that respects the sanctity and value of each innocent human life.    As a nurse for more than 40 years, I believe we must be prepared for a conversation on school violence as it relates to mental health. While we still do not know the motive of the gunman in the December 14th shooting, we know that the individual was among the millions of Americans with a mental disorder, and may have benefitted from other treatment options or more frequent opportunities to speak with counselors. Examples such as this are among the many reasons I continue to advocate for patient-centered healthcare reforms that will offer those facing mental disabilities access to the care that they need.   Thank you again for contacting me about this issue and please join me in continuing to pray for the families affected by the tragedy.      Sincerely, Diane Black Member of Congress
  6. Anyone got a good template letter to send to their reps? I don't really have a way with words. Want to write, but don't know really what to say other then no new guns laws and protect our 2nd amendment. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. This is terrible. Just goes to show how sick some people are. Guys like this don't need "help", they need to be put down. Praying for all those involved in this tragedy  .
  8. Thanks! I wanna say its got 12.5 inch barrel with a 4 inch flash suppressor.
  9. Any decent Gunsmiths in Murfreesboro area? Need to get a flash suppressor soldered on to a Bravo Company upper. Long story short bought AR-15 build of a guy who is in law enforcement, barrel is to short. How good of a smith do I need to bring it to? Can I sell it without doing that, don't wanna hurt resale value for someone wanting a suppressor. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  10. My buddy's got 2 built by them. Both are very accurate. Top notch guys from what I've heard as well.
  11. Called a week ago to see what price I could get on a Pmag. Told me he was busy and would call me back. No problem. A week goes by I call back again he apologizes and tells me he will get price and call back in 10 minutes. 1 day later still no call. Obvious I can order a Pmag online for a better deal then he can most likely offer, but I wanted to check this place out and support a local shop. Owner sounded like a nice guy. I'm a little disappointed, I was excited to hear a small shop opened pretty close by. Prob will go in next week if I get a chance and give them another shot.
  12. Kind of sounds like this case: http://www.cannoncourier.com/durham-to-serve-one-year-in-county-jail-for-baxter-murder-cms-2980
  13. Just bought my first gun yesterday. I got a 10/22 Ruger. I went to this range today to try and sight it. Had some trouble. If any of you guys is willing to help me out I'd appreciate it.
