I have a conversion bolt for my M&P15. I played with it for the first time today. I did not switch optics from the ones I use for the .556 bolt, I figured at 50 yard it would be kind of close and I could just compensate. So here is the question. Are all .22 conversions amazingly inacurate, or do I just have a dud? I knew the optics would be off ,but damn. it was throwing lead all over the place. At one point I just shot looked for the hole and then aimed at the same spot I did on the first shot and the hit would be 180 degrees off. Is this normal??

No, I think the guy is in Smyrna.

The Mrs. is wanting a new gun and I am wondering what is the better choice. She has a bersa .380 thunder. Should I sell it or see what they will give me on trade in at the LGS?

After a lot of internet searching and reading here, I figured it was time to take the plunge I thought my regular belt was doing an ok job of herting around my M&P all day but at the end of the day it was sagging pretty badly and starting to show signs of premature wear. We went to walk around the Nashville flea market a couple of weekends ago and I came across a leather booth. I went in and the guy was really nice as I looked over his offerings not really finding what I was looking for. I asked if he had any betls that were thicker. He stepped over to the corner and said "I have these, but they are more for the people that carry a gun." I just laughed and said "That's what I am looking for." He did not have my size on account of I am a fat ass, but showed me some of the belts and we taked about what I wanted. He gave me his card and said to send him an e-mail. A few days, and a paypal transaction later and I have a very nice hand made gun belt. Fits like a glove and what a difference when it comes to carrying a pistol. The weight just disappears, the gun feels solid on my side and has no sag at all. In all I am happy with it so far. I am looking forward to the weekend when I can let the gun ride the whole day and see how it does.

macgyver-isms and the gun hobby.

This is a fantastic thread!! I am going to start making my own oil and cleaner!! I will add this, If any of you are/have a nurse, doc, or other medical person in the house, a 60ml syringe with a length of I.V. extension tubing makes a a great oil applicator. -
You may have been misinformed on the M&P. I use the small grip on mine and there is almost (really) no hump at all. The large and medium have pronounced humps on them but the samll really just covers the frame.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy at work. I asked simply to see what type of carrying that is considered to be. I do it because it is comfortable and convenient. I was in security for a while and got used to a holster at the 3 o clock, and it is just what I like. I am not concerned with being made, although I will confess, I do get concerned in crowded places that a kid will she it and yell or cause some kind of scene, but it has not happened yet lol Get a smaller gun??? That is like saying "My pants are too tight, I think I will cut 4 inches off the tip of my penis..." LOL .

I have been reading along in a few of the current threads, specifically the Chik-fil-a thread. This has caused me to ponder a bit. I have been thinking that I am carrying concealed, but now I am thinking that I am infact open carrying. 99 percent of the time I carry with a Tagua (sp) leather holster, outside my waiste band on my belt, with my undershirt tucked into my pants and my overshirt unbuttoned and not tucked in. I wear it sort of like a short sleeved jacket if you will. I have always dressed in this manner so it was just natural to just let my overshirt cover my pistol. So..... how do I carry??

Thanks for all the replies guys. I am thinking I will look into the tac 65 and also check with Thompson Machine and see what they have to offer. I want one that can function for both calibers. My whole plan is to end up with one rfle that serve many functions. -

So if I am understanding; what I need to find is a take apart supressor for a 5.56/.223. While having two would be cool, that is really not an option for me. That was part of why I got the conversion bolt for my AR, I could buy one rifle that does two jobs. That and I got it super cheap lol. -

What I am asking is will a supressor for my 5.56 AR be safe to use if I have my .22 conversion in it? -
The 10 or the 12 will work in the gun. The 10 is the 12 with some sort restrictor to limit the capacity. Mine actually came with a 12 and a 17. I think the only ones that are not interchangeable are the ones for the shield.

I know I can't count how many times I have been getting gear toether to be deployed and thought "Damn! There is no pouch on my rig for my sextoy.", Thank you sir for being thoughtful of my needs of self gratification while in the field . http://originalsoegear.com/fleshlight.html Seriouly I did order some of the velcro shot shell holders. I love those things and 15 bucks can't be beat.

I am so pissed about this. I just switched to dish and it will cast me about 450$ to break my contract. We switched to dish after direct tv sent a complete idiot to to install our equipment in the new house. I really just want rid of it all.

I hear a lot of people say the don't like the trigger on a glock but I don't think that is the problem. The problem with glocks is that they are not a M&P... . I am joking..... I really like glocks, a lot, my M&P is just a more comfortable fit in my hand. The similarities between the two is what led me to buy it.

Like!!!! Does it smell bad when you fire it? I was wondering because that is tha sh*t

Honestly I am hoping this will complete my collection.......I know,Iknow , but when I recently decided to restock the house weaponry I had some specific things in mind. With this addition those things are fulfilled. I had to let my original collection (small) collection go some years ago when times were tough. I have now rebuilt our home defense needs. I am not usually one to go all nuts over accessories and fobbits, and I am going to try hard to stay that way.......I know I know . This one will more than likely stay in a safe place and just come out to practice from time to time and then go to it's safe place agian You will have to see me agian, I have to pay it off LOL .

I just wanted to say Thanks to these folks, and a lot of others for all the help I got by just lurking here and reading. I have been trying to decide on a black rifle for a while know and with the help of a thread titled "First Black Rifle" I made my decision yesterday. After reading that thread and doing some reserch of my own, I had it narrowed down to a Romanian AK I found on the internet and A M&P 15 Sport. I just happened to be in the Rivergate area so I stopped in to D&T to see what they had on the shelf. They did have the M&P (which is really tough to find by the way) and an AK on the rack. They answered all of my questions and let me handle each gun as much as I wanted. They gave me a great breakdown of each and pro and cons of each. It was obvious they wanted me to buy something but there was really never a high pressure feeling about the whole deal. After handling both guns and getting a feeling of how each gun worked and how they felt in my hands. I coupled that with Dolomites (and several others, Oh Shoot comes to mind) high regard, I went with the M&P. Agian thanks to all the nice folks here that are will to share knowledge and information to help less knowledgable folks make a more informed decision about where thier hard earned money goes. A big thaks to the guys at D&T as well. I know I could have probably saved a few bucks buy purchasing online, but I recived great service, a fair price on a hard to find rifle, and a one on one tutorial and education on my new rifle that you cannot get online and to me that is well worth supporting a local shop and paying (honestly) just a small bit more.
