  3. It always makes me happy to see new gun owners acting responsibly and defense minded. Congrats on the new gun!
  4. The DL endorsement would work and could be revoked just as a HCP would be in the event that the person is no longer eligible. Or they could install a cheap scanner at gun stores that you scan your license and get a go/no-go result.
  5. I am assuming that mounting it to the bottom rail of an AR also turns it into an SBR or is there something different about that? Edit: Watched the other video on the ZipSBR and answered my question. It's a cool concept but I don't see a lot of use for it. I would rather have a folding stock SBR 10-22 for a comparably compact survival weapon. Not saying that I don't want one though, impracticality hasn't stopped me in the past:-)
  6. I have often wondered why they even need to mention any details about the gun that I am buying when they call it in (they call at the store that I use). I would love to have a system that I could use to check the person that I am selling to without having to use the details of the gun since that is irrelevant to the intent. We are trying to keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them not compile a list of our transactions and what guns we all have. So, yes, this sounds like a great idea. It would also serve to increase traffic for the gun stores and maybe bring them more sales to offset the free background checks.
  7.   Didn't Rambo take out a helicopter with an arrow?  They might be on to something with the archery thing...
  8. Never thought that I would stop dealing with a vendor over the price of a PMag but that does it for me unless they want to give me $99.97 for each of my PMags!
  9.   I like the idea of a unique feature.  I have seen where guys would have their callsign engraved on their coin, we could get our login name engraved.     Maybe it could be included as a perk for an initial annual Benefactor subscription or something like that.
  10. In my recent CC class they said yes.
  11. If you can't see the video it might be because you are on an iOS or other non Flash capable device like me and its probably the Flash version of the video.
  12. If you get it you can find all the help you need over at the Saiga-12 forum. forum.saiga-12.com. I didn't even know what a Saiga was when I got my S-12 and that's where I went to learn all about Saigas.
  13. Buy it! Conversions are easy.
  14. I love that State, if only it wasn't so hot and dry!
  15. Yep, its addicting and expensive!  I look at all the ads here and say to myself that I would just go around saying "I'll take it!" all day if I had the money.   I have a G17 and G30SF and they are great guns, can't really go wrong with a Glock to me.
  16. And just recently I was holding a real gun that close to my baby, twice even! I must be the worst father ever, someone could have been seriously harmed! That's almost as stupid as having your crazy ex wife as a FB friend:)
  17. Another vote for Apple TV. It's literally all we use now. I rip DVDs from Netflix to stream to my Apple TV and use instant play as well. We buy new shows if we want. I figured out the cost and if we bought 2 entire seasons of a new show every month then it is still cheaper than DirectTV. Then you can just get the very basic service if you must have live TV and maybe a sports channel if you need that.
  18. I second the trailer recommendation, I got my safe in Ohio and it made the drive worse but it was worth it for ease of loading/unloading. What safe are you getting? If its lighter it might not be as much of a problem.
  19. I recently had a local moving company move my safe in and they did a great job. It was $350 which is comparable to what Mahoneys was telling me. These guys were much easier to schedule. It is a Liberty Franklin 50 gun safe at almost 1200 lbs and they handled it well. They just needed some of my lumber to support the trailer/ramp as well to protect the tile. Funny story too. I had the ramp of my 16' trailer straight onto my front porch and when they got the safe onto the end of the trailer it lifted the entire front of the trailer into the air and they dropped to the ground. I thought for sure they were done for but they handled it well and got the safe up the ramp. Gary Mercer @ Crating and Moving Solutions 423-360-4847
  20. Looks like a great opportunity for some real world testing of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massive_Ordnance_Penetrator
  21. Exactly. I escaped SoCal and a school deciding to buy ARs of all things right now is a huge step for that administration. "If it saves only one life..." Right?
  22. TAC2 in Greenville does competitions, I think they do IDPA.
  23. True but I believe/hope that there are enough that won't do it to and at least make it ineffective and risky for the government. Maybe the National Guard, being local, would resist the orders but in the end a government like that will cross the line to use federal troops. This isn't going to be another Kent State where a bunch of dirty hippies are the target, it'll be gun owners told to violate the 2nd Amendment rights of other gun owners and that will make a difference. We all have to say where our line is and stick to that. For me the day that I am asked to participate in ops against US citizens on US soil is the day that leave the military. Thats when I will look to protecting my own and preparing for the upcoming conflicts (more than I already do)
  24. Hmm, this has me thinking. The batteries would be great for when the power goes out here...
  25. This is probably the best suggestion then get a low pro block rather than screw around with a questionable part. I retract my earlier suggestion. Don't mess it up so you can't sell it.
