Did the older ones come with the vented stock?

Hey guys, looking online and came across a guy selling a "remington 700 sps 308" It has the vented synthetic stock, 20 inch non threaded barrel and two swivel studs. I haven't seen this configuration before, The guys says hes had it for about 5 yrs, never shot it. Anyone chime in on what model it is? I know the SPS varmint has the vented but a 26" barrel. Any comments would be appreciated

I have the chance to grab a brand new one for $1300, I'm on the fence about pulling the trigger. That's a good price for one and I've wanted one for a while. Just need some positive reinforcement lol. I wanted the 18 inch version but there shouldn't be a big difference between them right? Danny

Anyone have one or have any experience with one? In the market for a rifle I can hunt with or pretty much do anything with. Was looking into a Remington 700, but came across these. Any input would be appreciated. Danny

Man been thinking about getting one again in 308, I plan to use it for hunting also.  You guys think the 16.5 would be alright, or just go with the 20.5?   Danny

I had a rifle with the CTR on it, its nice but I like the STR better because of the improved cheek weld.  I almost went all out and got the UBR but decided to keep my cost down a little bit and get an eotech.    Danny

Hey guys, i'm going to purchase one of these VEPRs in 308 this weekend. They have a bunch of different options and just wanted to hear everyones opinions on which configuration to get. First they have the Verson 1 and Version 2. Each come in either 16.5" barrel or 20". The version one is setup like a saiga, version 2 differs with an integrated gasblock and front sight post and 100-300 meter flip rear sight and accepts high capacity magazines outta the box. (i'm pretty much set on the version 2) My question is the barrel length, since its going to be a 308 i've heard mixed reviews on performance. Guys have told me to get nothing shorter than a 18" barrel, if so it will affect the performance of the rifle. I'm not an expert so wanted some knowledgable input. On the flip side of that, their are many combat rifle in 308 with 16" and shorter barrels. I will be using it as a range gun/hunting rifle. Thanks in advance for the input.

Yeah most likely if i did build one, i would just do everything the same manufacturer, minus upgrade parts and what not. Been looking at the DMPS MLR in 308, looks like a great value for about $1350. It has a 16' barrel, so its pretty compact, i was looking for at least an 18inch barrel, but i might settle; haven't decided yet lol. Anyways i'll let you know and thanks for the info Danny

Maybe they are considered AR10's, i thought the armalites were the AR10's. Not sure, but whatever, yeah not sure what i'm going to do yet, don't have the $$$ to go all in right now, just researching Danny

Yeah the CMMG has a complete 308 ar MK3, about $1350, not a bad price. Just wondering on the quality Danny

I've been thinking about trying to build a AR15 in 308. Not sure what brand parts to go with and how much it would all cost. Anyone have any ideas, CMMG has the 308 lowers/uppers and accessories, not sure though. DPMS also but i would like milspec parts. Give me some input, i saw that SIG online already and it looked great, i was thinkin i could build a comparable rifle and save some cash for ammo. Danny

Yep called D&T Arms and they talked me through the process. Seems relatively simple. Should cost around $30. They gave me $10 off the transfer for being a member here

Just wondering how the process works, just go to an FFL with the handgun and they ship it to another FFL, what do they charge for this usually? Thanks Danny
