Excellent point! Thinking folks like yourself are never in danger. Trouble is, there are idiots like the guy at Cool Springs who will be used as the example about why HCPs should be banned. Did he have poor training? Possibly. Even more possible is that he is one of these "I know everything about guns and don't need this class but will take it only because the state requires it" types. You know, we all saw at least ONE of them when we took our classes, and these are the ones who scare me to death - with or without a HCP.

My wife carries an SP-101; I bought her a BEAUTIFUL brown leather concealed carry purse at the last gun show. It will simplify her carry, and it is a very nice purse to boot!

My wife and I are definitely interested in the de Bethencourt class . . . I carry a 2.5 686 and she carries an SP 101. I would like info ASAP about the class including cost.

I bought my wife some nice clothes and that is about it . . . I have lost my job, so we are doing less for each other. As long as I possess my wonderful wife's love and care, I am the richest man in the world.

Jeff . . . the gunsmith at Guns & Leather, who cut down a shotgun for me, recommends more than 18" so that if you use the shotgun, you won't get sent to jail for using it . . .

Please indulge me a question . . . I live outside the Green Hills area in Nashville. About 6 weeks ago I saw a LARGE doglike animal running between our houses; larger and reddish looking fur. Saw it again this morning . . . it was about 25 yards from me; basically uninterested in my presence until it saw me, and then really ran away. I do NOT think this was a dog, but a yote. Since I have never seen one, I am not sure. Opinions please . . . Thanks to all!

The Tennessee Department of Safety has sent letters telling firearms instructors that "effective immediately" they are required to complete and fill out a roster that is to be faxed to the Department of Safety within 24 hours of a handgun permit certification class. Have a look at the roster: http://www.state.tn.us/safety/forms/HGs ... 862408.pdf This roster collects information concerning the weapons used in the class including the owner's name and the serial number as well as the make, model and caliber of the weapon. As I understand it, nothing in the statutes authorizes or directs the Department of Safety to collect or require this information. Contact your legislators IMMEDIATELY!
