What's wrong with you people? The man invented the internet.
Doesn't that at least deserve a bobble-head or little action figure?
Gee . . . I forgot that! If not for old Al, we wouldn't be here . . .

I urge you to become educated about HB 1375 and write your legislator to oppose it. No, this is not a bill about guns; it is a bill about paying higher rates for natural gas.
Piedmont Natural Gas is asking for the right to increase its rates by 4% per year. Before returning to my home state of TN, I lived in NC for over 20 years and watched Piedmont Natural Gas raise its rates to the max every year. Piedmont Natural Gas now wants to bring that same rate structure to Tennessee.
TVA is already out of control with electricity rates; we need not give another utility the ability to freely raise its rates.

FYI - if the statue is approved by the state, it must be funded by private money, not state funds.

For this type, simply say, "Spend your Yankee money and keep Tennessee green. And by the way, don't come back."

We be flyin' now . . .

I have tried fly fishing. I suck! Came back more frustrated than when I went fishing, which was to relax.
Same reason I gave up golf. I suck!

For a thread that began simply wanting to identify TGO members who are Masons, to now debating the theological worth of Masons, I think this thread has gotten WAY off track and should be ended.

After my Beretta over and under and I smoke a lot of clay pigeons, the bore snake is a good quick clean.
After I cook a mess of them clay pigeons for supper, I do a thorough cleaning in the old fashioned way . . .

I think Slim's postings are off topic . . . the thread was asking about TGO members who are Masons, etc.
Sad to take a shot at folks just to take a shot at them . . .

My mother has fought cancer for the last ten years. It started with kidney cancer, bladder cancer, lung cancer, and cancer of the lymph nodes.
Today, we learned that there is a lesion on her brain.
To say the least, she is devastated. No less for her son.
We will be visiting specialists next week.
I covet your prayers and kindred thoughts.
Thank you for your support.

Please consider a pocket . . .
Yes, I am a geek.
But I do not use a pocket protector!!

I see that everyone is convulsed with silence.
Mostly for good reason ... no doubt you'll get a 90% negative response for a gizmo like this. Similar to the ClipDraw.
I give thumbs down to anything that doesn't safely cover the trigger of a carried weapon, simple as that.

I'll be there . . .
Please also have a place where you may shoot a shotgun . . . no ranges that I know of have that option at ALL.

I am interested in the new forum, and would like to know how to access it. I am an LPC-MHSP, and would like to help in some way, if needed.

As one who spent 25 years in active pastoral ministry, denominational executive, and now church consultant, let me give one warning to all who are thinking about having church members carry for congregational protection:
CHECK FIRST WITH YOUR INSURANCE CARRIER!!!!
A situation in my second pastorate in the early '90s called for congregational protection, and our deacons began talking about carry at church. One of our deacons was also the church's insurance agent, and he decided to check with the insurance carrier about church members carrying at church. The insurance company was emphatic: in no way would they cover in terms of personal injury or liability any injury coming from a church member carrying a firearm at church.
In my consulting with churches, I have found this to be the case with other insurance companies that cover churches. Some require trained security personnel for insurance coverage.
I would encourage you to check with your insurance company first.

I appreciate the big stores - they have their place, and I am sure they have great employees.
It has been my practice to buy firearms from individuals who have them for sale or the small gun shops run by individuals.
Yes, I admit I have paid more in the small shops. At the same time, I know that I kept an individual operator in business, fed his family, gave his staff a job, and did it all without enriching a large corporation.
This may not be your view, especially in these tough economic times.
But it is worth thinking about!

This year marks my mother's 10th year battling cancer.
May God grant Larry the strength he has given my mother.
Amen.

I am doing therapy with a female much like one described here . . . the scariest reality is how justified she feels for the things she is/has done to her ex-husband. None of it is her fault.
Thus, her narcissism is what makes her dangerous.
Talk with an attorney, and document EVERYTHING she has said or done. You well may need it someday.

I am waiting for my renewal as well; reality is that all renewals are being put through background check because of problems with issuing HCPs to those with orders of protection against them.
NOT fault of DOS; state law does not have mechanism for taking handguns from those with HCPs who have orders of protection issued against them.
State house is looking at the situation. Head of the THP notes that there needs to be central database listing those with HCPs who have orders of protection so proper steps may be taken.
