  1. Putting gas in my truck last winter on Nolensville Road in N'ville. Guy walks up smiling saying "I need money!" I agree with him; I need money too! He keeps approaching me, puts his hand in his pocket and starts out with SOMETHING. I raise my vest and put my hand on my S&W 686 . . . he immediately begins running away and drops cheap switchblade knife . . .

  11. The Don Hume for my S&W 686 was tight. I took a heavy boot sock, put it on the 686, placed the revolver in the holster, and left it there for a week. Perfectly stretched when I took it out.

  19. I will tell you one secret to great chili: start with a really good New York Strip steak, slice it thin, saute it in olive oil with onions, peppers, and garlic. Using this as your meat base, add a large can of crushed tomatoes and two cans of Rotel tomatoes, cans of kidney and black beans (as much as you like) and a can of corn. Bring all to a boil and lower to simmer. When you are ready to eat, add chili powder, cumin, salt and any other HOT peppers to taste. Finally, throw in about a 1/2 tablespoon of sugar to counteract the bitterness of the tomatoes. Eat up!
  20. Best gun handling on TV is NCIS; actual NCIS agents train the cast in proper handgun control.

  24. Check the Blue Cross/Blue Shield TN website; some of their short term health insurance is cheaper than COBRA. Hang on and God bless you . . . I know your pain; I've been out of work since December of 08 and have tried to get a small business going, which has been tough in this economy.
