  1. Today I was given a fifth of Old Forrester whisky. It is unopened with the original seal and has a tax stamp of 1955. Naturally, some has evaporated, but the bottle is about 90% full. My question from those of you who know about good whisky: as old as it is, is this whisky drinkable or will it gag a maggot? I don't know enough about whisky to know whether I need to see if this stuff is smooth or just throw it in the trash. Your opinions will be appreciated!
  2. Looking for a list of TGO members who will do FFL transfers; don't know where to find it but have seen it in the past. Especially looking for persons around Nashville. Would appreciate feedback. Thanks!
  3. +1 - pricey and I could have done as much by myself . . .
  4. Good cleaning and new mag are in order. Good luck!
  5. For the jugs - I mean jugs for fishing - LARGE hooks and LOTS of chicken guts. If you are game, let the chicken guts get really rank . . . cats love it!
  6. GREAT choices! Congrats!!! I am an old wheelgunner!
  7. They need to let DW go talk on the track . . . his hot air would have us racing in 10 minutes
  8. Kel-Tec
  9. Willmaker 2011, now 2012
  10. I offered a general informational comment about how mental health professionals assess persons who are possibly at danger to themselves - to keep them from harming themselves or others - and the thread turns into something about the government and one's rights. My comments have not been taken out of context as much since my first marriage! LOL Good luck, all . . .
  11. I will be near Natchez Trace State Park next weekend and may want to pop off a few rounds at their range. Does anyone have any information about it or things it would be helpful for me to know? Thanks!
  12. I am a licensed mental health professional in TN and NC, and in that capacity, if one of my clients hints at suicide, I have to assess them because of their suicidal ideation. If, from my assessment, I believe them to be serious about suicide, I have to get them to a hospital ASAP. The person will again be evaluated for possible commitment. If I assess someone as suicidal, both ethically and legally, I cannot ignore it. While it was regretful what happened went to the point of the court taking his firearms, there was undoubtedly enough concern on the part of the person who originally assessed him to feel that suicide was a high possibility.
  13. A nice LARGE Cabela's gift certificate
  14. A quet day at home with my wife, mother, brother, and father in law. Youngest stepchild flies in from NYC late in the day. Christmas ham. Rest, reflection on life since last Christmas, a spirit of thanks, and a prayer for all that they will know a sense of peace in whatever way they need to know it . . .
  15. Great . . . new look is just GREAT!
  16. I think it is fantastic; really like the dark background and typing in white. Thank you, David!
  17. As always, every time I ask a question on TGO, I get such helpful and useful feedback. Thank you to all . . . I now have lots of options to consider!
  18. Thank you for the suggestion; the ceiling won't support a ceiling fan. You do have a good suggestion though about the fan. There is a window AC unit that if used in fan mode could move the heated air around.
  19. I am looking for a good electric heater for my elderly mother's enclosed front porch. At about 200 sq. feet, she is currently using a radiant heater that she points at her for warmth, but needs a heater with a fan to heat the room. Here are the issues I am running into: 1. Her current heater is 1000 watts. 2. Heaters that I find that would do the job are 1500 watts, but it is my understanding that if anything else is on th same circuit with the heater, it will blow the breaker. There is only one circuit on the porch and the only other things on it are a TV and lamps. Pardon my stupidity, but I am no electrician, so any guidance or opinions you have about how best to heat her porch would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  20. It it is only me left and my wonderful wife is safe, the only thing I want to save is my doctoral dissertation. It was written and earned with blood, sweat, and tears . . .
  21. Time to get a life . . .
  22. Kewl . . . very very kewl . . .
  23. I have no "ideal" candidate . . . anywhere. When it comes down to it, everyone is out for him/herself. Democrat candidates are personally wealthy and want to spend my money. They want to keep their money. Republican candidates are personally wealthy and want to make sure they don't spend their money, thus they do not want to tax the rich or corporations. They want to keep their money. As a country, the poor and middle class are screwed . . .
  24. It sickens me when the Bible is used to justify any position liberal, conservative, or otherwise . . . NOT what it was written for.
