Wanted - Women's Self Defense Class Chattanooga
JGunner replied to Cherokee Slim's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I'm pretty sure Defensive Divas is a hand-to-hand defensive course. Here's a link to the official page. http://www.theshootersdepot.com/class-descriptions/#def-divas I know Zirk also does 1 on 1 classes / lessons too (like you said Jonin). You'd probably have to call shooter's to see about setting that up. -
I usually carry a g26 iwb with a Kholster (crossbreed type holster). I'm 6', 290 lbs, so I'm not small (har har). The other day I decided to try carrying my full size 1911 OWB with a cheap nylon holster of some type, and it was WAY more comfortable than my G26 has ever been IWB. I usually wear jeans and a button down untucked if I'm carrying, so I didn't change my dress at all, and I was well concealed. I've now ordered an OWB for my G26 so I can start trying that. Honestly I need to lose some weight, but until that happens I'll probably start carrying OWB more than IWB. (I also ordered one for my G21, which I think is gonna work well). edit: forgot to mention, I also keep a Ruger LCP in my front pocket no matter what else I may be carrying.

Shooters depot offers a defensive divas class for women. I believe officer zirk teaches it. (he taught my hcp course and was very good). I can't comment specifically on the course because I don't know anyone that has taken it, but I have a great deal of respect for officer zirk from the way he handled the hcp course. Seems to be a top notch guy/instructor -
Andrea doesn't know they are all infected. Rick was the only one the Dr. Told and he didn't tell the group until after the battle at the farm. Andrea was seperated from the group by then, so she was never privy to that info.
That's correct but Andrea did see the brain scan of the patient dying then turning. That would be at least somewhat useful. (pretty sure Andrea saw that .... I think the whole group was in there when they showed the scan).
Or Svenning in Mallrats!
Wow!!! Yeah I didn't make that connection till I read this post. Time for me to head to imdb.
Thanks. Follow up question: Why handguns? Seems weird considering I can come and go with my CW, with my HCP. I'm just curious...
Because handguns are evil!!! I stopped trying to find logic in gun laws.

I just purchased this for my Mac mini / iPad. Touch of a button switches between. No receiver needed as it is blue tooth and both the Mac mini and iPad have the Bluetooth built in. I love the convenience of this keyboard. Ive only had it about a month so time will tell if the solar/rechargeable setup last. So far it's been great. It charges off of indoor light, and they claim the keyboard will last for 3 months off a full charge with normal use. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboards/Wireless-Solar-Keyboard-K760-for-Mac

Hey guys, it looks like the Walking dead interactive comic book / game for Xbox, PS3, iOS, etc ... will release episode 5 on Nov 20 for PS3, and Nov 21 for everyone else. (The final episode). Just thought I would share in case anyone else is out there eagerly awaiting its arrival like me. I plan to go through the game again once I get ep 5 and complete it. I might make some different choices this time and see how different it plays out. Here's a link: http://www.telltaleg...ty/blogs/id-999
Congrats on the choice. But be warned....Glocks multiply in the night. You may only have one now, but soon there will be more. I think Glocks are asexual.
I think Glocks are also thieves too ... every time mine "multiply" my bank account has some money missing ....
I freakin' LOVE puppy pictures! I have videos of our two little Dachshunds when they were puppies playing and it is a guaranteed smile every time I watch them.
Yeah I couldn't help but smile when I looked at that little pup.

I have a 6 year old black lab mix, and a 7 yr choco lab. (both female) Love them!!!!! Congrats on the new pup. Good to see a pup get a good home!!!

I attended a short reloading 101 clinic at Sportsman's Warehouse on saturday and the guy made it pretty entertaining. When he told us about bullet pullers he said it was also known as a "reloader's eraser". He also said when you decide to answer your phone while reloading and then make a mistake, the bullet puller gives you a good chance to train yourself not to get distracted. He then proceeded to smack the puller on the table and said "stupid stupid stupid" each time he smacked the table. With my next paycheck I will be buying reloading equipment. Will be just in time for the semester to end, woot!

That was great!!! I did literally LOL.
Didn't Rick find Lori's wedding ring on the floor? If not, what was it that he picked up?
I thought it was a ring, but on the talking dead after show they claimed it was a bullet. (the one Carl used to make sure Lori didn't come back as a walker).
I will have to go with poop. You are most vulnerable whilst pooping. So you better hold it till you get some back up.
Hehe. My grandfather has mentioned a couple of times how he always had his 1911 handy while pooping during ww2.
I don't know but will take a guess. I think a lot of the manufacturers are running at capacity to keep up with demand. When I see government agencies buying billions of rounds, it makes me think they get priority. When you get a spike in civilian demand, they just can't make it fast enough, but expanding is dangerous because the demand may slack up.
This. There are probably other factors, but it is an economics issue. Demand will likely go up (this is a good guess, because it happened last time obummer won), while supply will likely not go up very much (because manufacturers are already at or near capacity, as piercedan pointed out). This drives price up, until demand and supply settle back into an equilibrium at the higher price. That's my basic understanding from Econ 101,102 that I took over 10 years ago lol.

I just ordered some pmags and ammo personally. Reloading is next purchase.
It's not that government is set up wrong, but that there's too much of it. We have allowed it to get too big. Government employees need to be drastically reduced. I don't consider the military to be government employees, just so you know. Every time a program is added, government grows, taxes go up, wealth is transferred, bums are created, and politicians gain power. Something called soft tyranny. Debt causes the same problem just like the debt a family has. It has to be paid off, eventually, and politicians concoct devilish ways to get that money out of us without paying the revolving credit card government has. It started as soon as the ink was drying on the Constitution and hasn't let up. We would do so much better with the limited government our founders intended.
Man you nailed it IMO. Every time I think about / talk about politics I always come to the same conclusion ... our government is WAAAAY too big.
And T-Dogg goes out a hero.
What an episode ... I love this show. ... and we still got 19 minutes left!!!!

I was all like "NOOOOO TDOG!!! LOOK BEHIND YOU !!!!!"

Thanks for this information ... I'm going to be getting into reloading in the very near future, and I have been pondering how to store powder. (I also picked up the ABC's of reloading and have been looking through this). So much good info here on TGO.
I would think without a set of lungs providing oxygen, the brain would die pretty quick. Maybe the tanks and the electrical equipment provide the oxygen somehow. Still, Michonne's pets' heads were there too and I'm sure they didn't get into the tank right away.
I don't think it's about the brain being alive so much as it is about the brain being intact. While the brain is intact, even though the person is dead, the virus can send neurons around the brain to control the body. Therefore, a decapitated head with an intact brain can still have the mouth controlled by the virus. However, once the brain / brain stem are damaged, neurons can no longer flow correctly, and thus the zombie is "dead". I'm not discounting your idea, just giving my own take on the whole zombie head situation. Either way, I think we can all agree, zombie heads still capable of biting are a danger.

New Jersey Turns Away Non-union Relief Crews
Except that if you ask the Alabama utility companies, apparently this story is bogus. http://www.cbsnews.c...-away-from-n.j/ Alabama power companies are denying a local TV station's report that linemen who had traveled to New Jersey from Alabama (a right to work state) to help restore power to those hit hard by Superstorm Sandy were told they could not work there because they were non-union. More details at the link.
Wait a minute, nothing can be posted on the internet that isn't true!! (I read that on the internet, and saw it in a commercial on TV!). hehehe. -
Thumbs up!!!! (disclaimer: I only currently own the 34 and 26, but have shot the 19 and will own one some day ... Unless I run into a deal I can't pass up, the 19 will be the next 9mm glock I buy).

I do similarly with snap caps in a semi auto magazine. Great practice.
