nice gun at a nice price, cant argue with that .. i havent had a chance to fondle any M&P except an M&P22 and was VERY tempted to buy it yesterday even though i was shopping for a 9mm lol
-
the Maverick 88 is a good idea for a home defense shotgun on a budget it's a very well made pump gun for the low price point (have one sitting by my bedside as i type), the PMR 30 at least right now is next to impossible to find and most people have alot of FTF issues out of them, from my understanding there is a certain way to load the mags and kind tap em against a hard surface every few rounds you load to improve the reliability but that seems gimicky to me, never had a high point but from what i gather from friends who own them and from reviews online they are surprisingly reliable for a cheapo gun ... just blocky big and ugly, but who cares if it saves your life im sure it'll be beautiful to YOU lol ... im a HUGE advocate that every shooter should own at least one .22 rifle and pistol just because they are fun and make GREAT training tools ... all the essentials you can get down on the cheap and fire thousands of rounds without going broke .. and those same skills will translate to your more expensive to shoot centerfire guns ... just my 2 cents :)

went to a local pawn shop today to pick up a S&W 5903 only to find out it was sold yesterday, but i fell in love with a stainless Taurus PT92 that came used with 2 17rd mags so im happy :D .. i had owned a PT92 in black and had to sell it awhile back to pay some unexpected bills.. and regretted it ever since, but the wife says the stainless looks much nicer and i kinda have to agree even though this is my first stainless semi auto
-
well i went to my LGS and a couple pawn shops and ended up going to pick up the 5903 only to find out it was sold yesterday ... but i found a stainless Taurus PT92 used with 2 17rd mags for $429 OTD so im a happy camper :D
-
that's awesome .... i had planned on looking for a PPQ as soon as i get my tax return anyway and the only worry i had was the above mentioned "funky mag release" lol .. now i'm just that much more psyched about this gun
-
well from all this, im thinking i might be picking up the S&W tomorrow as it seems to be the favorite by far and is actually about $40 cheaper than the Bersa thunder 9 pro ... that is of course unless i just dont like the way the 5903 feels in hand and like the bersa much better .. but i've held a 5906 and liked it, and from what i understand the 5903 is the same gun but much lighter with an aluminum frame
-
wow i kinda expected smith to be the favorite but not unanimously so lol
-
ok last minute change up .. any opinion changes if we throw the Ruger P95DC in the mix? lol
-
yeah i've never owned a smith or a bersa .. of course always heard of smith and instantly relate the name to quality but from what i can gather like you said the bersa is a good gun as well and it has a slight capacity advantage over the 5903 (17vs15) and a 4-1/4" barrel vs smith's 4" otherwise the features are roughly the same being DA/SA with decock ... argh im torn lol
-
been looking around for a 9mm semi auto and found 2 locally that fit my criteria and are in my price range, and i have ZERO experience with either gun but havent found anyone with anything bad to say really about either one so im asking you guys :D ... im looking at either a S&W 5903 or a stainless Bersa Thunder 9 pro and hoping to find some opinions or people with experience with either or both ... any info is appreciated

just signed onto youtube and saw that Hickock45 had posted this ... i STRONGLY urge everyone worried about their 2A rights in this current political climate to fill out and submit the form, it takes less than a minute and is sent to the President, Vice-President, your Senators, Representative, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State-Level Elected Officials and State Attorney General.. all in one click http://www.ruger.com/micros/advocacy/takeAction.html

i notice you're in Lebanon so just a heads up on local meets ... the lebanon gun shop encourages people to meet there for private sales, they provide a bill of sale and run the numbers on the gun/s to make sure they arent stolen and they dont charge for the service .. i try to meet there for transactions whenever possible is you scroll down to the bottom of this page http://www.lebanongunshop.com/policies-services-i-55.html it's under Individual Sales Edit: lol sorry i got confused the OP isnt in Lebanon .. but yeah that's still my advice find some place similar but close lol

would love to get a deal like that i would deffinately get an AK if i could get a decent setup for around $500, .... if i do end up going the SKS route should i look for the same things as used AK's like canted sights and gas tube, or are there other/additional issues to look for?
-
im sadly lacking in a good (centerfire) rifle and have decided to invest a little tax refund money on a few guns including a centerfire semi auto rifle and have decided to go with either an SKS or an AK47 variant, i know the AK in general trumps the SKS but im on a budget and would like to have the funds to also buy a thousand rounds or so of ammo, and i know AK's have gone up in price recently where as i have seen an SKS online for $299, and i guess im basically looking for any info on the differences between the 2 besides the obvious capacity difference... are there still decent AK's to be had for around $500 or under? would LOVE to get an AK but cant see paying as much for one as i could get into an AR for .. i've never owned a 7.62x39 platform so any and all advice is greatly appreciated

yeah me and the wife LOVE the show .. so much so in fact that we both go around quoting ole uncle Si almost daily, not sure if that's more scary or sad lol

been a big fan of logitech for awhile myself i've used several wired AND wireless mouse/kb combos, wired and wireless game pads for PC, and a few of their sound systems and like sL1K said they will shake the house on a budget lol .. always thought they made a VERY good product for the price point
