yeah im a huge fan of .22lr handguns myself i didnt even know there was a conversion kit for it ... now im even more interested lol

lol i JUST came here from watching the hickock vid (i wish that guy lived closer i would love to get a day at that range) i logged onto youtube and saw he had just uploaded it a few hours before my original post but he didnt really speak to some of the concerns im having like the tiny barrel ... interesting though because the one i saw in the disassembly vid was fluted and appeared smaller in diamater than the one in the hicock video, gun did seem to have a few hiccups with him though on the mag release and the slide releasing i'll have to read up more i guess

ok i know how dumb this makes me sound but i JUST found out that this gun exists lol and it sounds too good to be true ... a $300 pistol with 30 round capacity in a flush fitting mag, with ballistics similar to a 5.7? i NEED this gun .. but i have a few concerns i was hoping some of you guru's may be able to address 1. how reliable would you think the gun would be with the cheap BVAC bulk ammo ($70 for 500 at CTD) 2. the barrel looks like a toy when i've seen the gun disassembled in youtube vids i mean the thing is tiny, or is that a non issue with a caliber such as .22mag? 3. anyone own this gun who can speak on durability/reliability as far as build quality 4. fixed sights (which i normally hate) .... how accurate is this gun at ranges a little beyond 7 yards .. nothing huge just say 25-50 yards? 5. i know the 5.7 is also a 40gr bullet but i saw both guns chronoed the FN 5.7 at roughly 1,700 fps and the PMRR30 at roughly 1,400fps .. how much real world difference is that extra 300fps going to translate into?

well honestly im looking to get something a lil different in another .22 pistol and both of these were in the running when i first bought my 22/45, and this time money is a bit tighter .... i know the difference is only maybe $50-$75 between these 2 and another decent Mk III but when you're kinda wincing at the price already 50-75 can be a big difference lol ..plus as they say variety is the spice of life so kinda looking for a non MkIII that will be as fun/accurate as the MkIII and from what i can gather although cheap neither of these guns is a POS ... like i said never fired/owned either one just going by what i gather from various reviews i've looked up

anyone have either of these that can speak on reliability/accuraccy/ability to eat cheap bulk ammo like federal and winchester? already have a ruger 22/45 target model that i love but looking to add a second .22 for the wife to learn with and join me when i decide that the empty mt.dew cans (zombies) are becoming too plentiful

ok not really clear on where to post this so i hope i guessed right lol .... my nephew gave me his Glock21SF in trade for some money he owed me a few months ago and i called a local shop about having it transferred to my name, the guy told me that in the state of TN it isnt necessary, that he can just give it to me and its mine ... all well and good but should i ever need to prove ownership im thinking i need to have him sign a bill of sale, can anyone educate me on this? and also any help on how to word a bill of sale to make it legal?

VERY nice, looks like an awesome time was had by all ... i really need to get out and get some trigger time myself

lol i have no doubt ... already has me thinking of ways to free up some funds

no it does not have an auto off feature the top knob that selects brightness/color is also the on/off switch i did leave it on accidentally overnight once but the battery still seems fine months later, and it is fairly easy to zero in, it has elevation and windage adjustments clearly marked just use the small allen wrench that is included ....as for the waiting on the AK and just buying ammo for now ... (thanks to mostly shooting .22lr)i have plenty of ammo, and though i'm not "trained" in any tactical classes (unless you count hunters ed in seventh grade lol) i did grow up around guns and have always owned several at any given time from the time i was 12 up to around 30 but a serious lull in finances forced me to sell off everything i had at that point and just now getting back into basically just shooting for fun .. admittedly the vast majority of my trigger time has been with .22 rifles and 20/12 guage shotguns, havent owned as many but im no stranger to pistols and higher powered rifles, i mostly shoot for fun but i do take safety seriously of course and in my belief any trigger time adds up to building your fundamentals ... unless you mean the AK in particular in which case i honestly just prefer it for the heavier round and the reliability ... i love the readily available accessories for the AR platform but my friends all have reliability issues with their AR's and the AK is just well an AK .. and im not an ELR guy anyway so the slightly shorter range isnt an issue to me
-
love it actually .. saw it in a local shop for $90 but found it on amazon i believe for around half that price, it has 3 brightness settings in both red and green and 4 different reticule choices, and seems bright enough in full daylight even on the lowest setting, as far as build quality it seems outstanding to me but i dont have alot of experience with high end optics either, havent had to change the battery yet but from what i heard they last forever and it comes with one in it and a replacement

yeah i always loved my .22's they are just fun guns to shoot and an awesome way to get tons of trigger time and work on marksmanship/fundamentals without breaking your pockets .. and the Glock is basically my home defense gun though i have put about 300 rounds through it, but it's important to train with what you would rely on in that type situation

i know its not much but im poor lol hopefully be adding a nice AK variant to the mix soon ... Ruger MkIII 22/45 with NCStar 4 reticle Green/Red Reflex sights and 2 10rd factory mags..... Ruger 10/22 with Tapco stock Tapco front grip and Leapers 4x32 fixed power scope and 4 25rd Ruger BX-25 mags..... and a Glock 21SF with trijicon night sights, extended slide release, 2 13rd factory mags and a 27rd extended mag (no name but feeds flawlessly)
-
ok you're correct i just checked they are winchester bulk 333 box 22.lr 36 GR plated hollow points ... guess i just assumed plated and jacketed were the same lol
-
i've always been told to only use jacketed rounds in any semi auto .22 because the soft lead nosed rounds tend to cause alot of jams (mostly failure to feeds) i know growing up with .22 rifles i always had jamming issues with the non jacketed rounds, am i wrong on this? i hope not as i have a couple thousand rounds of JHP's lol

ok i just bought a new ruger 10-22 in a tapco intrafuse stock, and i've recently been introduced to the idea of barrel break in ... alot of mixed reviews out there on if it is even slightly benneficial or not, some say it even shortens the life of your barrel, of course others say it improves accuracy and ease of cleaning over the life of the barrel .. and still others claim they have done it with some rifles and not on others and cant tell a bit of difference so my question is. can anyone say from personal experience if it is worth doing and what is your particular method if so ... and would it be ok to just use a Hoppe's bore snake to do it to save time?
