E-mail sent to the reporter. We'll see if he accepts that type of assignment again! -
With over 460 threads on the other post, I thought I'd start one on the latest hurdle. Did the Senate give HB0962 the thumbs up to go to the Governer today?

My wife took her class took her class in mid January but didin't get her application and fingerprinting done until the first week of February. A couple of co-workers took their class and were fingerprinted in mid-March. On the first week a April my wife called about hers and they gave the 7-14 speech. I told my co-workers about the phone call and they called the same day. Lo and behold, my co-workers and my wife received their permits on the same day the next week! I'd say to give it 2 weeks after fingerprinting and start calling every 3 days or so. The ladies that answer the phone were always very nice and helpful. (Odd for a government agency. They must have been rejected by the DMV.)

Barring a veto that will delay everything, when will this take effect? I think I saw June 1? (Sorry if I missed it in the other 38 pages.)

Fox 13 News story (probably tomorrow) on women and HCP
jay1313g replied to ZenDog's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I can't find a link to the latest piece done with Range USA. I can only find the one from RangeMaster. Does anyone have a link to the new one? -
I had one and loved it! I just recently sold it to get my CZ75 PCR though. Very convenient to carry and I shot it well. The wife didn't like the long trigger pull though and she wouldn't carry it. I did do quite a bit of "fluff and buff" and never had a jamming issue with it. I'd say hurry up and make the trade!

Fox 13 News story (probably tomorrow) on women and HCP

Kristen, from Range USA, called me today to see if my wife wanted to do the interview tomorrow morning also. (My wife took the women's only class in January.) I told her that she could call my wife but our 7 and 11 yr old sons that had to get to school and the time wouldn't work out........ That's only part of the truth. I don't think my wife could be ready and there by 6 a.m.!!!!! -
I did the Purple Promise gig for five years at an outlying station in Memphis area. I would work until all the drivers had their packages and then leave for the primary job which had me traveling 70K miles a year. I preferred just to keep my mouth shut as I didn't have time to drive all the way back home before going to the other job.

I haven't read anything bad about dry firing the 75s. I just picked up a new CZ75 PCR two weeks ago and can't wait to get to the range with it. (Pics will be forthcoming after I tell the wife I bought a new gun.) Great gun though!

Welcome from just down the street in Arlington!
-
What "metal treatment" did you use/do? Looks good!
-
WOW!!! Mine only went up $18K. I feel much better now!
-
I will call tomorrow but it appears that Angus is out of stock also! This must be one hard to find pistola.
-
Has anyone in the Memphis area taken this? Was it worth the time? It will cost as much in ammo (500 rounds of .45) as for the class itself. Here is a video from their site. By the way, the red head is the ever so famous "Kristen" that has been spoken about here so many times before. http://rangeusa.com/Videos/tabid/136/Default.aspx

Thanks for the input guys! How hard is it to find a PCR? Have you seen one in a shop lately?

Where is the article about 32,000 Shelby Count HCP residents did not do anything wrong (with the law) today? What about an article stating other consistencies such as most of they mugshots shown were African-American men. Can I assume they are all bad? Oh.. Oh... One white guy. I guess they're all bad too! Who are the only good people left to trust? Asians, Hispanics, Indians, on and on...

I'm thinking of picking one of these up. Looking for recommendations on: Decocker or not? (I like the idea of being able to carry in condition 1 with this gun.) 9mm or .40 - Not looking for the debate about which is better or which ammo is cheaper but asking if the .40 is abusive in this gun. (I normally shoot .45 and this gun may end up with the wife when she gets her permit.) Testimonials with reliability? There seem to be several different models of the Compact. Recommendations?

I had the same rattle with mine so I called Springfield. They sent me a replacement within a week and it does not rattle! Go figure??? Great customer service though!

Uh.. Oh... He's got the fever! Welcome from Arlington/Memphis!

Range USA, again. Took my 10 yr old through the youth class in December. Wife took HCP class there in January. Great people to deal with!

GOTCHA!!!! Springfield accidentally put a neutered mag in with my XD45 Compact. I called them and they sent me the correct 10 rounder. Thanks!

My wife is patiently doing the mailbox watch as her permit should arrive in the next couple of weeks. She quilified with my XD45 but wants something smaller to carry. She shot the XD9SC and liked it. (familiar with my XD) She held a M&P 9c and really liked the way it felt in her hand. Now the question: I see part numbers for the M&P9C with 10 or 12 round magazines. Will a 10 or 12 round magazine fit in the same gun or are the guns actually different. (I wish they would sell it with one of each.) Can I add some type of Pearce extension to make the 10 round in to a 12 rounder?
