Fienstein needs to find a new job
Tuffus replied to chances R's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"And yet it’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines." Since when is it legal to hunt humans in the United States? Having a limit on rounds to hunt ducks doesn't keep a hunter from hunting with a 7 round magazine, it's just illegal. You can't hunt humans legally even with a single shot. What a duffus. -
I am looking at getting a Mossberg 930 spx semi auto for home defense. Presently I have a Mossberg 500 Persuader pump. Both are 7 + 1 so the round count is the same. Am I really gaining much switching to semi auto? I like the idea of softer recoil and the sights are better than just a bead but I also like the reliability of a pump action. Opinions anyone?

Cabelas Has CCI .22 LR Bulk Back in Stock
Tuffus replied to TSprint1's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
The picture and description is .22 LR but if you scroll down it's listed as 22 WMR. -
I always thought they were shafting everyone with their shipping prices but now the sticker shock is out the roof. They need to change their name. They aren't cheaper than anyone anymore.
-
Patrick Leahy is next in line after Beohner. Not much improvement there.
-
I had close to 10000 rounds of .22 but have been sharing some with my shooting buddies. I told them they could just replace what they borrowed when the dust settles. I try to always have plenty of .22 around because it's cheap and fun to shoot. I anticipated the shortage when Obama got re-elected but never this much on .22 especially.

DHS Recommends Scissors and Hiding Under Desks To Save Us!

I have quick access to a large stapler at work but it holds more than 10 staples. Is that legal for self defense? Would that be considered an assault stapler? -
No damage at my place in the boro but the driving was slow on I-24 going to work due to hard rain. 50-60 mph. Hydroplaned once but not that badly.

Mailing the HCP Renewal Application vs person to person
Tuffus replied to jgradyc's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I went to DMV in the 'boro on Monday. 45 minutes. They took my picture again, I guess since I was there in person they might as well. Didn't want to take a chance on the mail since they sent no address with the application to send it in to. Probably could have done it by mail though. I got a confirmation in the mail the next day that it was being processed. -
The Streamlight is a nice addition to the Sig, the one on my FNP will light up the room and temporarily blind the bad guy. Good luck finding a 10/22 right now. I was at Academy Sports today and 3 guys asked about one just while I was standing there. You will have to be at the right place and the right time to get one these days.

Sig makes a fine gun. 1911's are fun to shoot. Have fun with it. Maybe I should get one too!!!!!!!!!!!

I never had a problem with low left with my Glock 30. It was accurate right out of the box. So was the FNP. Each had a few FTF during break in but none since. I like both guns but if I had to keep just one it would be the FNP. It's a bit more accurate (at least for me), points a bit more naturally on target and just feels better in my hand. I use the Glock mostly for concealed carry. The FNP is a little large for IWB carry but it can be done. Both do what they are supposed to do when you need them.
-
I have the FNP 45 and a Glock 30. I like the FN trigger better but the Glock carries better due to size. The FNP is my go to gun with a Streamlight TLR-1 mounted for in the house. I wrapped a layer of Coban around the grip and it's a perfect fit and not abrasive. You should be able to buy Coban in about any pharmacy and it comes in different colors. I love my FNP 45 and my FNX-9.

CNN POLL ABOUT OBAMA"S GUN BAN'S
Tuffus replied to plank white's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
After I voted the numbers were all exactly the same as yours -
I've been a wheel gun guy since the 70's but nowdays my FNP 45 sleeps close by when I go to bed. I've shot many rounds through it without a single malfunction. The double action trigger is a bit heavy but not really bad. In single action it's very light and has a short reset. I also have the FNX 9 which I won in a drawing at the Outpost. Really a fun gun to shoot. If you have large hands you'll like the 45. Smaller hands work better with the 9. Both guns are very reliable and good options for the range or home defense.

I have a Stag Arms 2T and couldn't be happier. It's very accurate and fun to shoot. It's never failed in any capacity so far. I added an Eotech holographic sight that co-witnesses perfectly with the factory sights. You won't be sorry to get the left handed model.
-
Have fun with the new gun. I won an FNX 9 about 2 years ago at the Outpost and it's turned out to be one of my best shooters. Free guns are great!!!
-
I keep an FNP 45 by the bed with a Streamlight weapon light attached. When I turn the light on, the sights silhouette against the target but night sights are in my future. I have night sights on my carry guns, Glock 30 and LCR .357. I can also use the Streamlight on the Glock with the nightsights but I like the FN better for home defense.

I've been shooting some Remington .38 +p ammo I bought in the '70's lately. It's been lurking in a cardboard box in the garage since before 1980. They have all gone bang so far.
-
I've added night sights to my G30 SF. Who will give me $1200 right now?
-
I have a 686 plus and I would keep it if I could only have 1 gun. The great thing about wheel guns is that they aren't picky about ammo. Ball, hollowpoints, shotshells, doesn't matter. They just go bang. No need to test hundreds of rounds to make sure they are good to go in that gun.

I went by last week and he said he would special order anything you want at a competitive price. I like his start out small tactic. I plan to do some business with him soon.
-
I pocket carry often with an LCR or a p3at, ready to go but always in a holster that covers the trigger.
-
I wasn't sure if I needed the LCR .357 but bought it anyway. Now it goes with me everywhere. Great trigger and shoots great with 135 grain Speer short barrel magnums.

I just came from WallyWorld in Murfreesboro with 3 boxes of Federal .45 at $25.97 each. They even had some of the 9 mm 100 round boxes for $19.97.
