I really love my LCR. 158 grain magnums are brutal, don't care for those at all in this gun but the Gold Dot short barrel 135 grain magnums are not much worse, if any, than the Remington +p 38's. I use the Gold Dots for when I carry. The 642 S&W is a great little gun too but I prefer the trigger of the LCR. I added a night sight to mine not long after I got it because I just couldn't see the black sight that comes on the gun. It really makes a difference with these old eyeballs of mine.

Magazines...stored full or empty when on standby?
Tuffus replied to Sidewinder's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I keep 2 mags for my FNP 45 and Glock 30 loaded with hollow points all the time. My other mags are empty which I use when target shooting. That way I don't have to unload the hollow points just to go shooting. My wheel guns all stay loaded at all times. No worries about springs with those for sure. I did hear a story about a police officer that kept his revolver loaded with the same ammo for 25 or so years and when he tried to unload it, the cartridges had expanded over time and have to be driven out. I do shoot my revolvers enough to keep that from happening. -
Night stand guns caliber and capacity
Tuffus replied to Duck's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Night stand gun is an FNP 45 with 15+1 rounds of Gold Dots with an extra mag loaded next to it. Also my carry gun is close by too, Glock 30 or LCR .357. -
I have a Dell with XP and Comcast so I tried to download the free Norton software but it just will not install. I even had a hard drive crash and started out from day one and it still wont install the Norton. I downloaded free AVG and have been happy with it ever since. My computer did work well with Mcafee when it was the free virus software from Comcast but when the updates stopped because Comcast switched to Norton I had to go to AVG.

I was in Mrs. Mcknight's 4th grade class in Dyersburg. One of the other teachers called her to the door to tell her he was shot then later came back to say he was dead. I was glued to the tv for the next 3 days. I also saw Oswald shot live.

How about one of these? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u17ll043Ld8

I placed an order on Saturday night, the UPS tracking says it will be here by days end today. I've always had good results from Midway so far. My only gripe is the shipping charges sometimes so I try to wait until I can get several items to spread the cost. Then it's not too bad on shipping cost per item.

I have pocket carried Kel-tec p3at, P11 and Ruger LCR. My favorite for now is the LCR. I just shoot it better and I like the way it feels in my hand opposed to the smaller semi autos.

One night years ago a patient came into the ER that had a toothache. One of her "friends" told her to gargle with gasoline to cure it. She did and promptly afterwards lit a cigarette. Hence the trip to the ER.

I really like my LCR. It's a .357 but can shoot 38 in it too. Several ladies have tried it and liked it with .38 and even .38 +p. It also comes in .22 magnum if recoil is a problem.

I would have to agree with the title here http://www.vidaddict.com/worst-death-scene-ever-in-a-movie/

Sorry for your loss. Savor the time you spent with him. Both of my grandfathers died before I was born. I would love to have the memories you must enjoy. I like the t shirt thing you have going there.

An old girlfriend used to say I was tough as whitleather. It sounded to me like she was calling me Tuffus Whitleather so it became my alter ego. An expression I had never heard at that time.

Scored some Remington Golden Bullets, 525 round box at Midway today for $20.99. Called my brother, sold out 5 minutes later. Shipping was $19.00 but I added a holster for my S&W 686 to offset the shipping and the charge became $15.25 for shipping for both items. I wonder how they decide shipping charges.

I saw some nice mountain bikes at MOAB in Murfreesboro with 29" wheels last week in the $400-$500 range. Nice bikes for the money and they will make sure the bike fits you. Any good bike shop will do that. Be sure and leave with a helmet. It might save your noggin some day and if you do any organized rides you'll have to have one anyway.

Next you will be riding the BRAT (Bicycle Ride Across Tennessee). I do it every year. Great fun. http://thebrat.org/

S & W 686 plus. Fits my hand perfectly, points naturally, dependable. Second choice is FNP 45.

I have an 8 year old Scag Turf Tiger with the 27 hp Kohler, 61 inch cut. I mow 5 acres and it's been a great mower. I would buy it again.

best carry caliber for hiking, wildlife protection
Tuffus replied to Maestrorr's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
If you are worried about bears, load up with hard cast bullets, no hollow points. Penetration is important. I carry a .44 mag when I'm hiking is east Tennessee. I've seen plenty of bears and never had any problems with them but it only takes once. Of your choices I'd go with .45+p with a hard cast round like maybe Buffalo Bore. They claim they can penetrate a bears skull. -
Great bike, I'd like to have one myself but it would look kinda strange with my Brooks B17 saddle on it. My old butt likes to be pampered.

Definitely wear the helmet. A helmet is much cheaper than a CAT scan. I know of a woman in Camden that rode around the neighborhood years ago and just fell over at about 2-5 mph, hit her head and died. It's not how fast you are going but how far you fall before the noggin hits the pavement. Have fun and be careful. I ride about 3000 - 4000 miles a year and it's great fun and good for you too. Get involved with a local club and see how much more fun you can have.

The phrase I've grown anxious about is "Let me be clear". You know something bad is going to happen when he says that.

State (CO) grants Secret Service vast new powers
Tuffus replied to RED333's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Until the DHS took them over they were a part of the Treasury Dept. and investigated fraud, counterfeiting and other similar crimes. Not sure what duties they still have now days. -
I try to stay stocked up on all calibers just for times like these. Haven't had to purchase any inflated anything but I still pickup a box or 2 at Walmart when it's available. I've sold some .380 and .22 to friends that were desperate. (No gouging on my part either) There's no stress in looking for ammo if you stock up in plentiful times.

Snap caps in the cylinder? I hope. Could be Hornady Critical defense too though.
