  1. I gave up mountain biking a good while back. Still road biking though, started in 1976 and can't quit. Riding a 1999 Lemond Buenos Aires most of the time or a Burley Duet tandem with the better half. 6 other bikes in the garage to use at different times.
  2. I ordered 5000 rounds of Mini Mags, back ordered. One year later order was cancelled even though I wanted to keep the back order open. I understand the shortage but they could have kept the back order open at my request.

  4. Sorry for the loss. I lost my Dad in March. The pain has subsided but I still find myself wanting to call and talk to him about something. Always hard to lose a parent.

  6. Sorry for your loss. The gun will be a great way to remember him every time you pick it up.
  7. Glad to have you on board.
  8. Drat!! My chicken breasts aren't through marinating yet. May have to cook them early.

  10. Sorry for your loss. Don't sell the guns. You will be sorry if you do later on. I have a friend that's very anti gun but she inherited a S&W model 60 from her dad that she won't sell for any price. She never knew he owned a gun until after he died and it was in his will to give it to her. Checking the serial numbers it was made the first year they made the model 60 so he had it a long time. Still looks brand new and it lives in the box it came in. Once a year she lets me take it out and make sure it's oiled up and resting comfortably.
  11. I have 3 Fenix lights that are great. My PD35 crapped out because I left the batteries in too long and they leaked. I called Fenix and they sent me a new battery carriage at no cost even though it was my fault. Problem solved. All the lights everyone mentioned are good but my customer experience with Fenix keeps me a loyal customer. I only use rechargeables now.
  12. You might want to read this if you're going to Maryland, scary.   http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2014/01/20/update-on-the-mr-filippidis-maryland-concealed-carry-driver-incident/
  13. I got the 3.0 combo IWB for my FNS 9 compact and OWB for the Glock 30. Very comfortable in my opinion. I like the fact that I can switch the Kydex of the Glock to the IWB holster if so desired. If I were to trade for another gun, I can send in the kydex and trade for the new gun.
  14. Diabetes is an ugly disease that demands your constant attention. That said, if you do everything right you can live a good life. Non compliant diabetics live a hard and sometimes short life. Do what the Doctor says and keep a close check on your A1c and glucose levels. Get the triglycerides down through diet and exercise. Hang in there, one of my bicycling friends has had diabetes for 48 years and is still going strong.
  15. My boss was denied a few years ago but the appeal cleared it up because he used his first name William instead of Billy. Billy is how he is listed on Social Security and that was all it took for the denial. Once he faxed them the correction he was good to go.
  16. Why would you ever want to do that?
  17. I've had an FNP 45, not the tactical version unfortunately, for several years now. It's my bedside go to gun with night sights and a Streamlight TLR -1. I also have the FNX 9 and recently acquired the FNS 9 Compact. All are great shooting guns. I was especially surprised with the accuracy of the compact.
  18. I've never been much of a cat person but I don't like to see any animal suffer. My wife brought home 2 kittens she found on the side of a country road that had been obviously dumped to die. The male kitten only had one eye open they were so young. I was temporarily retired during this time and fed them by hand every 4 hours until they were big enough to eat on their own. Needless to say, I became attached to them. Now we have had them for 10 years, our mole problem has disappeared and we never have mice in the house. They are also lower maintenance than dogs. You can stay gone for several hours or even days if you leave enough food and water for them.
  19. Here is a good 380 hollow point test video. I have been using the Fiocchi Extrema for a while before I saw this and it has always worked well.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNtPHYwcDts
  20. I have the .44 mag and love it. I let my nephew shoot some 300 grain bear loads through it last week right after some .44 specials. Lots of smiles. Have fun with it.
  21. Granddaughters are lots of fun. I make sure that every time mine goes home from here she's enlightened to some sort of useless skill or information for her parents to deal with.

    New toy.

    Nice!!!
  23. These guys obviously aren't too bright. Watch the guy in the red shirt tuck the snubbie into his waistband with the hammer cocked. Loose fitting sweats at that. Then trolling the house with his finger on the trigger. Maybe he will shoot one of his buddies or his family jewels.   https://www.facebook.com/unioncitypolice/videos/vb.350358905104210/578812035592228/?type=2&theater
  24. Wow, that's the first I've heard of them. My friends said it was new. I guess it was to me at least.
  25. I met some friends that wanted to do lunch at Opossums pub in the 'boro today. Gun buster sign on the front door. Food was decent but not great. Guess I won't be going back there again. Here's the contact link if anyone wants to express yourself. It says at the bottom..."We look forward to hearing from you!"   http://www.opossumspub.com/contact/
