  1. Any of the name brands are good fer me. Don humme, Bianchi, galco. The wider the shoulder straps the more comfortable they are to carry a heavy pistol all day. The cheep nylon ones are ok if in a pinch and only expect to wear for short time. If you have a sore neck, dont even try them !
  2. Walmart in Franklin, TN had a Bushmaster and the sigs. Very suprised to see them. The guy at the counter said that they are bringing in rifles cause thats what customers wanted. Even had a short bbl home defense type shotgun which I have not seen in a real long time at wallys. I guess things are picking up for Christmas this year and home defense is on the rise too !!
  3. When the wolf came out, if you got your rifle so hot the laquer cases might of stuck in the chamber from melting. I never had any trouble out if them in my mini 14. The AC556 is another story. It heats up pretty fast ! Function is what you need to base your purchase on. If it works, Good ! If it dont, then change brands ! No shooting is cheep any more.
  4. A cap full or two of Nufinish car polish and a used dryer sheet works really well in the tumbler. I cap full or so of minerial spirits added to it also helps them come out clean ,lubed and ready fer sizing. Works with corn cob or walnut media. The dryer sheet or paper towel picks up the fine dust from the media and helps keep it clean longer. Use a cheep light timer and set it for 5 hours if you doing so many and they be spankey clean when you check-em.
  5. reason for the auction ? Shop going out ? I had no idea of it or I might of gone there. As long as the parking was free ! lol Mike
  6. Haggle about prices ? Its that 1980's [ or 70's ] box of rem rifle ammo thats seen more guns show's than all of us combined here at the current price that burns my butt. $35 for box of 1980 rem ammo AND they wont budge on th price ? $10.94 back then maybe. The pile of price stickers on that box is a joke. Most dealers need to make their money, BUT the guy's with the 80's stuff at 2013 prices are way way ahead of our time here on earth !!
  7. I bet most of us wish our BUG's were as light as cell phones. Lol. A light set of ankle weights with all the weights on one side of the ankel might be a better example. Borrow a good ankle holster from a buddy and try it for a few days. You might find your blue jeans wont fit the bill anymore unless you wear boot cuts. Suit pants are in,docker's,slacks etc. Pants need to be long so when you sit the holster wont show so wearing floods are out. I'd make sure a thumb strap is used also and you buy the correct holster for your pistol. Its very embarrassing when your gun falls out on the floor when you run, jump or trott. My partner got into a light skuffle with a punk and his BUG fell onto the floor. Lucky the store manager was there to retreive it and not the punks friend ! Good luck with your choice of back up carry.
  8. The sleeve of batts for $20 is good deal. While back at a gun show in Nash gun show a dealer had the surefires sleeves for $20 also. Not sure if 10 or 12 but I'd never pay more than $3 each max. The camera shops get up to $9.95 EACH for them 123's. Check around, you will find the deal you wont say no to !
  9. Everyone I met that had an XD would never trade it in for a glock. Your not under powered with a .40 and being well versed with it plus the extras Im supprised.... BUT being im a glock fan I wont try to talk you out of it. My last trip to Academy sports I think I saw $519? $525?. You can look around for a used one $400-475 depending on condition. The nite sites you ask will raise the price $50-$100 or so. Mags are $15-25 depending where you get them. I have no idea on what the XD's will bring. If they function 100% and you shoot real well with them, Id trade one of them off for a glock and see if you shoot it as well as the XD.Borrow or rent a G-21,30 and try it before you buy one. I dont know if the grip angle is same or not. Glock has no external safety. Good luck what ever you decide to do. Mike
  10. I just got my renewal after 3 1/2 months. They got my new address half mixed with my old address. I would like to think it got returned un deliverable ? Ya think they would check it out and see if there was a problem ? Heck NO. I called them after 3 months only to fine they had mailed it out 3 weeks or so after they received the form to the wrong addr. I had to make several follow up phone calls after leaving messages that were not returned. THEN the 2nd week of calling the nice lady that answers the phone told me it was mailed already.Got it the next day with the correct address. SAVE A COPY OF EVERYTHING YOU SEND TO THEM !! The mistake was on their part,it didnt help me in telling them that either ! No knocks on the door yet but figure its coming !
  11. I did the .25 cent trigger job on two glocks ONLY because I didnt shoot them enough to make the trigger smoother. As said above, purchased a holster and loaded the mags. As my carry gun I prefer to leave it stock, trust my life and my familys lives with it! Mike
  12. Mann's guns in Old Hickory wont do any transfers. He got burned real bad and lots of red tape from the BATF. Talked with him at the gun show a while back about doing a transfer from a person. Call and ask to be safe as amsting said. Mike
  13. Never shot the M&P but some of you are making me think I need to try one out. I really like my glocks....! My sigma 9F is ok too but the slight grip angle difference, changes my POI. Any gun you shoot alot becomes second nature I think. Mike
  14. I didnt know he had a channel. I love all his you tube vids. Got to check it out now. Glad you mensioned it. Mike
  15. Im sure you will find its worth the $30 too. Like said above the discounts are 10-15% and if you want a C&R firearm it comes to your door. I just renewed mine also and the ATF made an error on my new address. After 3 months I called them and found their mistake. Another 2 wks and im good to go. I never purchased any firearms, never had a door knock. Im sure you will find its worth the $30 too. Mike
