  1. I didn't mean to bring a dead horse back to life ! Just want to let guys know that Dicks had stock and REASONABLE PRICE on brick 22 HP's at $29 not $ 49 like some dealers are asking for LRN 325 rd pks. Sorry for the upset stomach's guys. Carry on !
  2. Dicks in cool springs has Rem 22 JHP 525 brks fer $29 and the limit is 1. Plenty on the shelf too. The same old guys are still at Wally World getting their ammo as it comes in . Mike

    My new Glock 43

GT's price for public market is $449 which is only $25 +\- the avg price of $429 that the G-42 was selling for. Since its new some dealers will ask high then the fad will cease the dust will settle and then we shall see the basic selling price. I hope I will not be disappointed with one when it arrives. I sure do enjoy the 42. Heck I might even buy a shield since I see so many used fer sale now but sure remember when those were selling real high ! I do my best to avoid the gougers which I remember well, either at the gun shows or local gun shops when referring friends and family That want to shop and buy firearms and assesories. Mike
  4. I'm really surprised some of the distributors like CDNN are trying to get $49 fer 500 LRN and WW sells fer $22 ? Per brick. I refuse to pay the inflated prices AND stopped doing business with the gouges. Just my $.02 worth. Mike
  5. If nothings changed, You have to first order on line or call and mark it or ask to pick up at the counter. They do not really have a store front to speak of.  TN. tax can be as much as some shipping charges and no haz mat fee.  Ive had good dealings with them and much cheeper than the gun show prices !!    Mike
  6. +1 what TDR said. I use the DeSantis ankle and enjoy it. I do believe it was molded for the pistol but others might fit. I will suggest the calf strap to hold it from dropping to the ankle bone and which ever you purchase check the fit and that the thumb strap holds it securely . A loose pistol in a cheep ankle holster will be its demise. It's also a good back up carry with slacks or blue jeans ( wide bottom, bell, flare, boot cut) The wide elastic band holsters I have never tried, but have tucked a smaller pistol in a tuxedo holster under a loose dress shirt. I have never wore a dress or heels just FYI. Lol good luck with your decision. There's a good reason why you read that sale post that starts" cleaning out the holster draw" ! Mike
  7. Welcome Fred, glad your getting to retire. Hope you enjoy the time off from work and get out and enjoy it. Great forum here and lots of great guys to meet. Mike
  8. Welcome to tn. Hope your move goes smooth and quick. I guess if the limbs didn't run you off the taxs did fer sure ! What parts you from ? Mike
  9. Its sad people in our firearm community jump the band wagon to profit from a tragedy like Conn. Whats the difference between us and the O'bummer,Bloomberg Dem group jumping in on it to pass more gun control ?      just my .02 worth.    Mike
  10. See, you should of gone to support the rally and saved $8 !
  11. Got there late. Was supprised the turn out was low. I was even more supprised the Reloaders bench was not really talking it up to customers at the counter. I did meet a few. Glad I went to help support them. I guess getting older I don't like others fighting my battle for me so I stand there with them and fight the battle together !! God Bless all ! Mike
  12. I'm going to get make it there by 1pm. Several co- workers were asked to come. Should be a good turnout. The Lebanon gun show this weekend too ? :-( Mike
  13. I think they should join the other company's that refuse to sell to states that have state/ fed restrictions on guns and mags etc. and NOT SELL TO POLICE or any agency's in those states because they are not exempt from the laws either. If I understood this correctly, Barrett here in Murfreesboro was one of the first to do it and the list grows. I guess Como/ Bloomburg screwed their own NYPD. To bad Glock don't jump on the band wagon and boycott those states.
  14. Thanks Shoot, I was just hoping ! To bad gun pal was a flop. I just can't support pp. Mike
  15. Sirs, is there a way to join, become a benefactor with out doing pay pal ? I will not support them. Can mail Pomo, check or meet up and pay cash. Thanks in advance, this is a great forum. Mike
  16. Congrads gentlemen, Hope the open house goes well and wish you lots of good luck. I hope to get by there in the next few weeks as work permits me. All the best. Mike
  17. I use a Lyman and a lee both. When I switched from pistol to rifle loads the scales were different. Turns out the Lyman was out of calibration in the upper range. Cheep lee scale may have saved my butt ! A draft or a/c blowing in the room might give you a false reading. It shows up more on a digital scale. When my central air is on the air blows with a downdraft along the wall onto my bench. Moving the scales under a tall shelve blocked it. Good safe loading, Mike
  18. Stay in a place where you have plenty of fresh air. Dont get into the smoke of fumes from the pot. My last blood test showed my blood lead level was up to 21. It should be well under 5. I thought that being at the door of my garage with a fan behind me was ok. The wind must of pushed most of the fumes into the garage anyway. When you flux the pot, just think if you smell the fumes your breathing lead ! I flux with saw dust, some wax from time to time but saw dust is free and the hickory smell is a give away that im breathing lead. There are some good pictures on cast boolits of burns from casting accidents that were lack of wearing protection. Flip flops are out when casting. A large bug dropped into a pot and exploded lead showers on another caster. Yellow jackets love the smell of bee's wax if thats what you flux with. A laddle full when a bee lands on you can leed to burns. Heavy gloves, long sleeves, face sheild, apron, shoes, socks !!! OH..saw dust ! Good luck and be safe always. Mike
  19. I have not read all of this thread but this last page. Most reloaders dont waste time trimming pistol brass. Seat the bullet to length [OAL] you want and be done. You dont want to over crimp brass as to reduce the bullet diameter. Some pull a bullet and check the dia. on the projectile to see if it was over crimped. Your caliper measurement at the case mouth should give you a good idea of the crimp amount. FMJ's,jacketed bullets are more forgiving than lead boolits are. I always loaded 10 of each load checking for feed as well as accuracy. A few double taps for feed ate up the last 4-5 rounds. I would work with one pistol at a time depending on how particular you want to make a load. Good luck,be safe.
  20. I would choose whick ever load shoots/functions best/most accurate in your gun. Then its up to you to shoot it well for good shot placement ! Yes some have better results where data was recorded and rounds tested but if you dont place it where it counts than it was a lost $1.00 bullet. Just me .02 worth. Mike
  21. A friend of mine purchased one of them a while ago but never got to crony it. They shoot well. Let us know what ya think of it if you get one.
  22. If they were reloaded they might have crimped the brass smaller than nessary causing the gap for gas to get by. Could be sloppy chamber, old war pistol maybe. Clean em size em reload em ! Mike
  23. Craig, Is that yankee hill mite "really quiet" ? Is it strictly a 22 suppressor or can it be used for other cals ? Mike
