1. It just came out that the shooter was carrying a stolen AR-15.     Yup, the media will have a hay day with this one.  I imagine NBC and ABC are already saying it was a super automatic AK-47 with a 10,000 round magazine capable of blowing people in half.     I think I will just watch a movie and keep the news turned off.  I don't feel like being angry tonight.
2.
Saw the same guy with the same gun. It was nice, but he is a regular "standing outside at the door guy". Doubt you would have got a very good deal on that one. He is always one of those guys that wants to steal your stuff on the way in and sell it to the next guy at a huge profit.
Seemed like a nice guy, but he was asking $400.00 for it. It wasn't a crazy high price, but it was not a deal either. He said he would take less for it. If I would have had the money I would have tossed him $300.00 for it just because it's a 39A that you don't see everyday. I would not have went any higher than that. Mainly because I already have one.
3. It wasn't too bad. I didn't see any great deals on guns though. I did grab some 62 grain .223 ammo from a local couple, a couple PMAG's for $12 each, and some miscellaneous items. My "big score" was a flashlight/green dot laser combo for the rifle, which I purchased at the Kenzie's Optics booth. It cost $175.00, but it is exactly what I have been looking for. It's 200 lumen, compact, and very light weight. Much better than the other set-up I had on the rifle. I have honestly never purchased a gun there. Just lots of ammo and accessories. The local gun shops have pricing and selection that's just as good, if not better. Plus, who needs a gun show when you got TGO? I have thought about pitching a chair by the door just so I can catch all the people walking in with guns. I imagine I could get a couple of really good deals by doing that. One guy I talked to at the door had a 1950's Marlin 39A that was in really good shape. It was the short barrel version. It was very tempting, but I had to pass on it.
4. Terrible, just terrible. It was clearly an accidental discharge, but the father should have known to clear the weapon. No need to punish the guy because I am certain he realizes his mistake. I feel really bad for him. I think we all have that moment where we do something that is extremely stupid. I couldn't even imagine his pain. RIP little guy.
5. With Obama Care set to kick in and a huge tax increase at the same time, it is all that will be needed to push the economy over the cliff. Forget recession, say hello to the DEPRESSION.
6. First one that pulled the gun should lose his permit, period. When I have my firearm on me I am usually a bit more calm and collected. Pulling a gun on someone is a pretty big deal. I do not have any desire to be sitting in jail with felony charges. I have a family to provide for. I can't believe how stupid some people can be.
7. I was looking around on Sportsman's Guide tonight and came across this knife. I wasn't really on the market for a knife, but this thing was so beautiful that I had to have it. Before buying it I done a little research and discovered it is a great hunting knife. I already had a $20.00 free gift card from Sportsman's Guide and I was able to find a $20.00 coupon code on top of that. Shipping was 13.00, so I ended up getting this gorgeous knife for $60.00. Not too bad in my opinion. The blade is 6 inches and the overall length is 10 inches or so. Have any of you had any experience with this knife? I am curious if it was a wise purchase on my part. This picture is just copied from the web, but this is the same knife I purchased.
8.
Wounded Warrior Project We've had a lot of questions recently that started when we declined an opportunity to appear on Gun Talk Radio. We want to clarify and help answer some questions. We have seen through this process that the language on our website and our response to the invitation to appear on the show weren’t clear, and we are working on clarifying our approach. There is now much inaccurate information about WWP being anti-gun rights, an issue as an apolitical organization we do not take a stance on. We understand and appreciate that many of our Alumni are gun owners, and we facilitate multiple hunting and outdoor opportunities for our Wounded Warriors throughout the year. In the past, we made our logo available to appear on wide variety of products, including guns. As an organization, we owe it to our donors and constituents to maximize the return on investment of our dollars and brand. We are always looking at our business practices and whether we should continue with them in the future. In the case of cobranding, we've decided that we're not going to offer our logo to appear on weapons anymore - whether they're guns, knives, bows, swords, or any other type of weapon. There are still a few of the guns around for sale that had licensed our logo years ago, but there aren't any new ones being made. This is purely a business decision based on a review of a return on investment, especially when compared with other types of cobranding ventures. Regarding the question of donations and events, we do permit fundraisers that are shooting- and gun-related, such as gun raffles, shooting competitions, etc., and we're incredibly appreciative of those who are willing to give their time to host or participate in an event. Likewise, we gratefully accept donations from companies and individuals connected with the gun industry. As indicated above, we know that hunting and shooting sporting events can be very therapeutic for many of the Wounded Warriors we serve, and we're happy to work with the community to make these types of events available to our Alumni. Hunting and shooting sport enthusiasts are an incredibly supportive and generous community, and we've been honored by how often folks have opened their land and homes, and volunteered their time to make these types of events possible for our Alumni. We're so sorry if it seemed that we didn't appreciate that support with our confusing communication of a business decision. It certainly wasn't our intention! I hope this post provides some clarity and helps answer some questions. We welcome the opportunity to have a warrior on Gun Talk Radio to discuss how hunting or events of the like have supported their recovery. We responded too quickly to his request and should have delved a bit deeper. http://www.facebook.com/wwpinc.fans
Read the portions I highlighted. This organization is more of a company than a charity. I refuse to donate to people like this.

10. The Libya hearings are coming up soon. Petraeus resigning just before those hearings is suspect. My thoughts are this: 1. They wanted him to take part of the blame and he refused to be one of Obama's scape goats. They already had some dirt on him just in case. The affair enabled them to get him out of the picture in the event he refused. It is no secret that the leaders in government use these tactics. 2. He resigned so that he can testify and tell the truth during the hearings. I hope this is the reason. No longer being employed by the government might free him up to give up the dirty details about the attack and the White House's refusal to allow the military to intervene. Something tells me the Libya hearings will be just another dog and pony show. Any credible intelligence or otherwise will be long gone or not allowed in the hearings.
11.
Taking up arms against other Americans is something you should never think about. When you die, you are just dead. If it was a good cause you are a martyr. If it was a bad cause you are a terrorist. Has someone suggested coming to your home and taking your guns?
It has been stated by several people in power. That want to do it. It is just a matter of HOW they do it. I am not talking about taking up arms against Americans. I am talking about taking up arms against tyrants. Tyrants are not Americans. I don't care what they call themselves or what piece of paper they have that states their nationality. If they attempt to take away the rights granted to every American citizen under the Constitution they are the enemy. Plain and simple. I do not think that defending our Constitution is a "bad cause". It's very nobel, patriotic, and it's the obligation of every American citizen.
12. Awesome. This just went straight to my Facebook.
13. These idiots seem to not realize that there are about 100 million gun owners out there. If even a small percentage of us resist they will have a sh*t storm on their hands. Come take my guns. I can guarantee I will not hand them over as long as I am still breathing. Folks, this is a real danger. If you watched that video you can see the map that shows worldwide gun ownership. The United States is literally the last frontier for these pricks to conquer. We are easily the most heavily armed population on the planet. I think we need to keep it that way. If our government ever moves to take your firearms, whether it be "assault weapons" or whatever, you will know that it is time for the patriots of this nation to rise to the occasion once again. I think we are finally hitting the tipping point that every great nation has eventually hit. Freedom is always worth dying for. It should never be something you think twice about.
14.
gators have no conscience or taste buds.
Just like Feinstein? Maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea after all. They'd probably just accept her as one of their own.
15. Don't mess with Texas! Or you might get run over!
16.
I don't think that is what Newsweek is implying.
That's the first thought that jumped into my head for some reason. I am really tired tonight. The 'ole thinking hat is running on fumes. You are correct though. I think they meant to present him as a conquistador of sorts. Makes sense.
17. This song sums my opinion up nicely.
18.
does it rhyme with punt?
Or bunt, hunt, or runt?
19. Newsweek trying to paint him as a fore father? THAT IS AN INSULT!!! That man is no patriot!
20. Seen that today. We all know why Hillary, Petraeus, and Panetta are leaving. It has Libya written all over it. I fear that old hag will pop back up sometime in our near future though. 2016 perhaps? Lets hope not. This country will likely be in chaos by then. The dictator is already hard at work.
21. To hell with it. Let it all crash. Then Barry can invite all those blue hats to the party and give us something to shoot at
22. I hit the list of unemployed in October of 2010 and was unemployed until April 2011. I went from having most of my credit card debt paid off and thousands in the bank to having nothing in the bank and $10,000.00 in credit card debt. I got hired by my employer in February and started work in April. My wife and I also have a 1 year old daughter. We were on the verge of bankruptcy when I got my first paycheck. We had to move 400 miles away from home, but we are doing well now. Keep your head up and do not pass up good opportunities. Even if they mean moving far away from home. Heck, travel the world. You're single with no kids, so why not? Plus, that would be some good work experience for the ole resume.
23. I wish that old bitch would do us all a favor and jump off a bridge into an Alligator infested river. They won't take my guns without a fight. I really hope millions of my fellow Americans share the same sentiment. If the government ever resorts to actually disarming the citizens I have no desire to live in a world like that. I would rather go out on a blaze of glory as a patriot.
24.
Nice setup! I just bought a Primary Arms Long Eye Relief Magnifier, and have used it on my SCAR 17 with an Aimpoint. It is REALLY a nice piece. The eye relief is REALLY good...probably 3 inches, which is needed with the 308. Here is a link, it may be an more affordable alternative for some of you looking for one. https://www.primarya...r_p/pa3xler.htm I also have one of the Vortex magnifiers which I run on my Blackout with an EOTech. I really like it, but the eye relief on the Primary Arms Mag is so much better, that I have to give it thethumbs up. Again, nice rifle!
The G33 has a good eye relief at 2.2 inches. The Primary Arms is 2.8 inches. Definitely a viable option I think. It looks to be a good quality magnifier, especially for the fact it costs much less. I went with the EOTech because it has a couple options I really like. Plus, I am just a big fan of EOTech. Also, I just found some angled sights to replace my folding sights. I ordered them and should get them next week. They are basically the knock-offs of the Dueck Defense RTS sights. I got them for $40.00 on Amazon. I really wanted the American made Dueck Defense RTS sights, but I simply can't justify spending $200+ for them. If the ones I bought do not work out I will dig up the cash to get the Dueck's.
