Brian, I hope you do right by reporting the facts and help people understand why law abiding gun owners love the AR platform. I also agree with others here about dropping the term "assault weapon" and using the term "modern sporting rifle". These guns are no different than other hunting rifles. Also, they are not all that powerful. I have a hunting rifle that shoots a round much larger than a .223. One of the things I have noticed being reported in the main stream media is that these rifles are not used for hunting. That is completely and utterly WRONG. Many folks do hunt with them. I hunt Coyotes with my AR and many other folks hunt other animals with them. They are a very effective hunting rifle. Secondly, I use my semi-automatic AR because I am very proficient with it. I served 10 years in the military where I used the military's 3-round-burst version. I know these firearms very well and feel very comfortable with them. It is my rifle of choice. I, as well as millions of other gun owners, am EXTREMELY frustrated with the media right now. I am sick of the biased reports and the never ending offensive on law abiding gun owners. I am not pointing my finger at you because I am fairly convinced that you are one of the few honest reporters out there. Maybe some of your objective journalism will rub off on some other journalists. I look forward to reading your story. Please post it here for everyone to read once it is finished.

Maybe we should give the teachers that are carrying a firearm a few extra days off a year for training and a little pay raise to boot. Also, introduce skill levels for those who are trained to carry a firearm in school.  The higher the skill level, the higher your pay.     Give them some incentives to be highly trained in responding to an event where an active shooter is in the school.

I never bought guns from them anyway.  I did buy lots of camping gear though.  They just lost all of my business.

The NRA should not waiver a single inch. Everyone here knows that if you give the anti-gun Lib's an inch they will try to take a mile. If anything, the NRA should make an effort to expand gun rights and gun ownership after this. Criminals like unarmed victims. That sick bastard killed 20 little kids. If those teachers had been armed he would be dead and those kids would be enjoying Christmas with their families.

Some MSNBC twit was blowing off at the mouth last night about how the NRA was refusing to respond to them.  This was just after he interviewed Mayor Bloomberg.  I think the NRA and others are being very smart right now.  They are showing respect for the families by not taking the bait from the media trash employed by NBC, ABC, and others.     I have no doubt that the pro 2nd Amendment government officials and NRA are preparing for a massive offensive.  I also think the manufactures of AR-15's should file a law-suit against the media outlets for falsely claiming that AR's are "assault rifles".

I read this last night. I am really glad some folks decided to actually use their common sense for a change. I hope this sets an example for other schools across the nation to follow.

Well, this one is the "Desert" model, which is why is is a bit costly. Academy Sports has their basic version for $499.00. I went there the other day and they were sold out. He said they had ten of them and sold out as soon as they opened.

Spendy is not the word for it. Cost me over $700.00 with tax and everything.

They got off easy.  One of them shot through his own hand and the bullet went straight into his friends ass cheek.  I hoped they learned a valuable lesson.  A hand does not stop a bullet  :rofl:

I knew better than to go to the gun store. I knew it and did it anyway......and I walked out with a new gun. I was just doing my usual walk around and looking at all the guns and this little beauty caught my eye. I asked the person behind the counter if I could hold it and.....well it was all over. This thing fits my hand perfectly. You could not ask for a better grip. I have been contemplating buying a new pocket pistol for a while now. I have a Springfield XDs and it is a great carry gun, but I can't always carry it in some of the places I go because it is not concealable enough. The P238 fit the bill nicely. I can put it in my pocket and just forget it is even there. I was also struck by the "cool" factor of it. It looks pretty mean for a little .380. It also came with Siglite night sights which are extremely bright. Anyway, here it is. I can't wait to take it to the range and have some fun with it.

  I just emailed both of my government rep's and asked them not to support a single thing that is related to more gun control.  I suggest many others here do the same.  We cannot risk our elected officials rolling over on this.  

We can't lock up the crazies and hang murderers.  That would be too inhumane.  It's definitely better to take people's guns away and create more innocent victims.  Don't you know?  That's Liberal Logic 101!!!

  I have no problem calling gun grabbers by what they are.  Really, I piss people off.  Does it bother me?  Not one bit.  I start by talking common sense and even using statistics in a civil dialogue.  Once they persuade me that they are nothing but a mindless Blooming Feinstein Brady Bunch groupie.......I get nasty.   The truth hurts.

Well, one thing is for damn sure. A new "assault" weapons ban is coming. And it WILL pass. And guess what they are coming for next? All the semi-automatic handguns. Get ready.

I will open carry everywhere I go tomorrow.     We could back off if we wanted, but my opinion is that we should meet this leftist agenda with the most amount of IMMEDIATE resistance as possible.  The Liberals are gearing up for a battle of epic proportions.  My suggestion is that we do the same.     We better get ready for a fight.  The Liberal's are going to come at us with everything they got.     It has already started.  I really hope that the Republican's in the House do not roll over this time.

A judge in Chicago will have a field day with this.  Armslist better get a change of venue or they will get eaten alive.  I really hope the NRA gets involved heavily on this one.  I want to see the Brady Campaign get their asses kicked.
