  1. It would actually be for a coworker of mine. How long does the process take? Is there any way to make a mold? I get to Knoxville from time to time. Is it anything you could do while the person and firearm are onsite? Oh and thanks for the super fast response time.
  2. Can you please send me a price quote for an XDM 3.8 full size grip with a Viridian C5L laser light combo to wjsteelejr at yahoo . com. Thanks.
  3. Welcome to TGO.
  4. White Label? The single barrel George Dickel is worthwhile as well.
  5. The Concealed Handgun Manual by Chris Bird: How To Choose, Carry and Shoot A Gun In Self Defense. I read this book early on and thought it had a pretty complete overview. I think his initial book was geared just for texas, but was broadened to bring information relative to all carry states. Would offer to let anyone borrow my copy, but never got it back from the first person I let borrow it
  6. Thanks for the pics Kano; that look like a pretty sweet holster. Last winter I used a Don Humes OWB intended for the XDM, but the contours of the barrel were a little different and it makes for a (little too) tight fit.
  7. Thanks for posting the report. Good shooting Kano per usual. Does that holster fit the FNP too? I have been looking for something for awhile. Not too much commercally available.
  8. Congratulations Glynn.
  9. The amount was for a Smith and Wesson 500 Magnum.
  10. Congratulations. I even dreamed I won this...lol.
  11. I am sorry for your loss.
  12. Consider Fiery Gizzard trail, also a part of South Cumberland State Park. The Grundy Forest Day Loop with possible trip to and from Raven Point if you have the time would be my recommendation here. Friends Of South Cumberland State Park has a good website with descriptions of all the trails that the park includes and directions to the different areas. At Savage Gulf, the two main access points are Savage Gulf Ranger Station (quick access to Savage Falls) and the Stone Door Ranger Station (quick access to the Stone Door descending into the gulf).
  13. For 8$, you cannot go wrong. I had a complimentary subscription from a gun purchase several years ago. Didn't renew, but was not a bad magazine. Favorites are American Handgunner and Combat Handguns but they are a lot more money than that.
  14. Welcome from Franklin County.
  15. Glad that all of you guys had a good time. Maybe I will be able to make it to the next one.
  16. Welcome from Franklin County.
  17. Very clear and to the point Joe. Good job. But a HG 1911 would be awesome on the graphic.
  18. +1 on Kano. Would be nice to have one of our own to root for.
  19. I joined earlier today.
  20. I apparently have not ended up on their calling list, but after I did the Easy Pay Life (EPL) membership, the mailings have seemed to calm down a bit. It might not be the perfect organization, but it is the best that we have at a national level. The magazine itself is worth the membership fee, and the pictures of Nikki with Ted Nugent, Charlie Daniels and Chuck Norris at the annual meeting are just icing on the cake. Wish I could have been there.
  21. Yeah definitely a good thread bump....guess it came along the first time before I got here. I played drums in my "former life" as I usually refer to it. Also taught lessons at the local shop for 7 years, but gave it up quite a few years ago. One day I will get back into it on my own terms for my own enjoyment and I am sure it will provide me with the same enjoyment. Just seems a lot harder to support a percussion addiction than the same for other instruments. It is a lot of committment to space/room/soundproofing moreso than the other instruments.
  22. Glad you guys had a good day. Thanks for posting the report. One of these days I will make it to the range with you guys hopefully. Good call on the posting at the hospital; with the new carry law I guess the ghostbusters sign is supposed to be valid. Oh well. Maybe that can change next year.
  23. +1 on the above source. I think I might have paid extra for express shipping, but was here in no time. The very helpful lady at the DMV gave me their info. I assumed I was all ok, but discovered the only birth certificate I had was from the hospital. Despite the fact of it having my hand and foot prints; that was not good enough...lol. Sent off for one with the state seal that of course didn't have the prints and that is more official somehow. And if you were born local, you can just go to your local health department and save some money, but I was in the same boat as you. Good luck.
  24. Thanks for the update Joe. I will definitely attend whenever/wherever another one happens and would also be available to help out again if needed and if you guys ask me back Yeah I couldn't read the recent threads about the Expo Center show without thinking of how much Joe and David trusted the patrons of the Gun And Gear Expo....and apparently well placed trust as we had not a single incident.
