But in regards to retiring it, I've seen stuff over the past decade regarding a modular weapon they were looking to replace the .50 with. Much lighter in weight and could swap from a .50 to a 25mm. I don't know if that was ever scrapped for good, but it sounds interesting enough.

With our dumbed down military standards today, headspace and timing is impossible to expect Soldiers to do. During the course of Iraq and Afghanistan you would be frigging amazed at how many I came by who sat behind that .50 and had no idea how to operate it, never test fired it or had any real training. They think they can just slap a barrel on it, load it up and go, until they get their ass handed to them and wonder why the gun didnt work. Of course, it's the .50's fault because its a piece of junk, just like their M16 is at fault when it doesn't work. Can't tell you how much I heard that from soft skill fobbits.

Gonna be a sad day when they retire the M2.

Heh, my first thought was that the only gun I have with a name was given a name by my wife. All my rifles and pistols, however, remain nameless.

More commonly referred to as "man-love" Thursday. It is the eve of their weekend, and when all the men come out to play. Of course, there are no women allowed out, so imagine that the streets are packed with dudes all out for a good time, minus chicks. I could go into more detail but it gets worse from there. A lot worse. Things that you don't want to think about and likely wouldn't believe they were true unless you saw it for yourself.

Eh, my family came over on a crowded, diseased ship about 100 years ago and didnt have a pot to piss in. I refuse to believe I am a beneficiary of "white wealth". There isn't a dime I have that I didn't earn myself. I have never received money from my parents. I have inherited nothing. The only money I've ever borrowed was from a bank for a house and some cars. I don't owe anybody nothin, nor should I feel guilty about anything. A black man walking the streets today has only himself to blame for his successes and failures. Playing the blame game is why there is such a problem. Being able to blame the white devil for all their woes is what keeps people in poverty; it gives them a sense of entitlement while at the same time gives them no incentive to improve their station in life. As long as they are "owed" something there is no reason to work for it.

Your post reminded me of this vid of a black power advocate. He references the videos of that little girl that does three gun matches and whoops butt. Kinda funny, but not safe for work... lotta m'fers and n'gas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VqG_4ADFfQ

I've always been skeptical regarding estimates on transatlantic slave deaths. Not that I don't believe the conditions were incomprehensibly terrible, it's just that it doesn't seem very cost effective to lose so much of your cargo, especially when you consider the cost of operation and per unit price. From a business perspective it just doesn't make any sense. I tend to be a skeptic on most things, so when it comes to such high estimates of slaves dumped at sea I'm suspicious that it has more to do with people attempting to villify slavery more than it already is. Of course I could be wrong, but if I was a slave trader I'd be more concerned with keeping as much as my cargo alive as possible rather than subjecting them to such harshness just because they happen to be African and lose half my profits. Considering there are such poor records of the slave trade from one shore to the next, I'll likely continue to be a skeptic. To give some perspective as to why I'm so skeptical of statistics that have an agenda, I was in Iraq when some BS survey came up with the number of Iraqi civilians killed in the war so far at 650,000. This was around 2005. When you do the math on that it is impossible. We would be stacking up nearly 1,000 bodies a day. I was there. There were not 1,000 Iraqis being killed each day. Our Army is nowhere near that effecient in terms of killing people, let alone disposing of the corpses. Hell, even Saddam wasn't that good and he had a lot of practice. The numbers were debunked a short time later, but it didn't matter because the damage was done. Stupid people are still quoting those estimates.

Yeah, I wasn't sold on them when they first came in, but after putting the Doctor sight on it and running for a week of flat range I became a believer. I haven't seen a more versatile sight which is so user friendly yet.

It would be a shame if they went with that over the Elcan 1-4 spectre. The elcan is waaaaay better and more forgiving for eye relief, plus the side throw lever beats everything I've seen..... about $500 cheaper too.

Meanwhile in DC, in the last 24 hours there have been multiple murders, millions in illegal drugs dealt and dozens of armed robberies. Good to hear they diverted so many assets to take a couple boxes of ammo from an otherwise law abiding citizen though. They sure be keepin the streets safe.

Agreed. The headline is an eye grabber meant to elicit a certain response, good or bad, from the reader. When you get into the nuts and bolts of the article it has less to do with a looming "race war" and has more to do with the media's silence when it comes to black on white attacks which are racially motivated. Of course, I don't really care that attacks are racially motivated, it just bothers me that when there is a racially motivated attack by white assailant(s) on a black person the media runs with it as if the country is about to come unglued because there is so much racism from whites. On one hand I understand where that comes from, but on the other hand I can't comprehend why we historically deny what is so evident. More black people are murdered in the span of a few years by other black people than the slave trade and KKK combined over the course of American history. The fact our society continues to deny it, or at least turn a blind eye to it, in fear of looking bigoted is probably the biggest contributer to the murderous and drug addicted culture of the poor black community. As long as we have this sector of society that is brought up to believe that there is an evil to blame for all their woes they will continue to feel animosity towards seemingly privilaged white people. Instead we feel badly because of our country's history of slavery and inequality, and that buries the reality that rap culture romanticizes gang life and drug use creating a never ending pool of young recruits who end up drug addicted, dead or incarcerated. The notion of a race war suggests this is a race issue that would pit one race against another. There are too many smart white and black people out there to know better. This is not racial, it is socioeconomic. Every race has its problems, and to say the root of the problem is race is to suggest that we aren't born equally worthless. Even with all the stories of black mobs attacking white and hispanic victims, we can't deny that this is some new precedent specific to a skin color. About a hundred years ago there were mobs of Italian and Irish youngsters roaming the streets in New England cities, robbing, killing, raping and so on. The difference is that it was okay for the news to acknowledge it. To acknowledge that a group of black teens attacked a different color person simply because that person is a different color makes the person acknowledging it racist somehow. It really is quite interesting to see the social norms cause folks to do such mental gymnastics to come to that conclusion. At the same time though, there are plenty of loud voices out there who are truly racist who jump on these stories in order to portray blacks in general to be the problem, rather than suggest it is cultural/socioeconomical, which not all black folks are part of such culture..... and then the race war crap starts and it becomes clear that it truly is about race with the person wishing for such a race war. This give legitimacy to the very media who refuse to report racially motivated crimes committed by blacks yet focus on racially motivate crimes by whites. This could all be solved by simply acknowledging reality. There are racist white people and there are racist black people. However, one from either group doesn't speak for the whole. Even a mob from one group doesn't speak for the whole. Furthermore, the racist actions of one person or group of people does not excuse racist reactions from the opposite race. Once again, it is the fringe folks who dominate the debate and polarize folks to their side by changing the perception. Bottom line, we are all equally worthless. Skin color don't make you good or bad, nor does it excuse any bad done, nor does it make you responsible for the actions of people who share your skin color. The more we get hung up on race the more we deny the actual problem, and you can't fix what you don't acknowledge (to quote Dr. Phil).

You still don't get it. I'm sorry that you don't, but I can't wave a magic wand to suddenly increase your reading comprehension. If you can't grasp my intention or the intention of others based on what we wrote, and you continue to ignore what the word "context" means, you will go on believing something that isn't so. You have the right to do that, but you're wrong. You just want to be pissed off that people like me think that people who walk around crowded areas with an AR15 strapped to them with the INTENTION of inciting panic are friggin morons. Fine, get pissed off, but don't misunderstand what I say.

Go back and read my post again. Digest it and rethink your answer. From what you have written here you didn't come close to comprehending what I said.

No, but what I'm saying is things aren't so black and white. Things like this happen in war and they aren't as big a deal as we make them out to be. I care less about the rules and more about the context. Perhaps most folks disagree with that, but the reality is that this stuff goes on in war. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has seen or done things for the mission that may be interpreted by some Jagoff as out of bounds, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't lose sleep over it. -
So in your world if you think something is stupid it should be illegal? In my world I believe there are lots of stupid things people can do that should be legal. I don't have to support or even agree with a person's actions for me to agree with the legality of those actions. Your argument sounds similar to a conversation with a statist I had the other day in regard to legalizing drugs and prostitution. He said that since I would support the legalization of those things I should have no problem with my son being a druggie and my daughter being a hooker. Folks like you and him just don't get it. You really need to not project your own statist view on others; the concept that if you disagree with something you must make it illegal.

Meh, I don't believe he did anything wrong. While I don't condone the execution of surrendered combatants as I think it is cowardly in its purpose, I don't think it is morally or ethically wrong to push the limits when there is a clear and present threat. Things aren't so black and white in that environment. -
Those are valid concerns, but I disagree with the idea that a business should be forced by the government to provide a service to a person the business does not want to provide a service to. Then again, it is already done, so I'm not sure what this would change other than adding another "special" group to the mix. For example, there are plenty of folks who still feel very strongly against interracial marriages and couples, yet they are forced to serve them according to civil rights laws. Right, wrong or indifferent, I still feel like if that is your belief you should be able to practice it. Once again, too many damn laws on the books; too much government involvement. We end up making stupid laws already on the books as reasons for/against something rather than canning the stupid laws we started with. I agree, the government needs to get out of the marriage business altogether. It'll never happen though.

Oh, I thought these were regular Pmags. I've seen windowless Pmags for $10-12 on various websites over the last couple months. Still, unless you're into the new gen Pmags I'd recommend folks just get the cheapo windowless mags. They work just fine. Improving on something that is already flawless won't make me spend more money, unless there is some serious cool factor involved.

I have a similar single point attachment on one of my ARs. I just dremeled off the right side since I'm right handed, which keeps that unnecessary metal out of the way of your forward assist.

I don't see the benefit of doing a group buy on these, as you can get any amount shipped for only a couple dollars more from most sites. All a group buy would do is put a burden on one guy to deal with shipping all these out for no gain, while people still have to incur the cost of shipping when reimbursing the original buyer.

I'm glad to see Magpul cranking these things out. Hopefully they can flood the market so much that when the next ban talk comes around we won't see people trying to gouge them with any success. Also, if Magpul can do everything to flood the market with their product it'll make the ban pretty useless when it comes to their goal of making things cost prohibitive.

So what solution do you propose? Legislate morality? Who's version of morality? I can promise you there are far more sinful and decadent things which are legal that far surpasses gay dudes buttf***g each other. Unless your solution is to establish a theocracy and outlaw all things YOU consider to be sinful I will continue to fail to see why so many get sooooooo worked up over homos.

Mine decided to delete all my contacts out spontaneously. I reset from iCloud to get my contacts back and it hadn't included any new contacts from the past year, even though "contacts" was selected in the iCloud menu.
