  1. Even when I was dirt poor the thought of doing Black Friday was unbearable. I'd rather live without an item than to participate in an experience such as that. Then again, I've never liked large crowds as far back as I can remember. Even in high school I'd take dates to early shows at the movies because I couldn't deal with the Friday/Saturday night crowds.
  2. The price of tea in China has gone up, so let us have an Obama rant over it.
  3. I'm sorry, I just can't get worked up about Obama in regard to something that another government is doing. It makes no sense.
  4. I'll have to remember that next time I'm hotrodding in a car that costs more than my house. I have kids, after all, so it pays to play it safe.
  5. This happened in another country.
  6. It's still normal in Europe and the mid-East. When I get flashed I move the hell outa the way, I just don't see that here too often. If I'm getting flashed my assumption is that the person has some place really important to be. I've had a few blow past me at 90-100 mph with their hazards on flashing at drivers in front. The few I've seen weren't driving aggressively, just very fast and trying to alert other motorists. For all I know there is a woman giving birth in the back seat or someone bleeding out on the way to the hospital. Tailgaters are simply impatient children though that make the road unsafe for everyone.
  7. I get tailgated driving in the right lane with a mile if traffic in front of me. Tailgaters just like riding up people's butts because they haven't been beaten on the side of the road yet. In fact, I get ridden in the passing lane when I'm passing and have a line of cars in front of me also passing, but at a lower speed at which I would pass. I don't ride their ass because I don't see the need to cause an unsafe situation, but the people behind me always seem to think I can magically fly over the traffic to my front. Either that, or tailgaters are just incredibly inconsiderate and impatient children. You seem to be defending these malcontents a little too much.
  8. If anything this is one of them cautionary tales to learn from. I'm sure the shooter feels horrible about this and it will take a toll on his life. Add to that the civil suit that is sure to come.
  9. Huh? You said that someone who is going slower than others "MUST" move over, and the post you were responding to was referencing passing another vehicle. You capitalized the word and everything. Putting such a stress on such a word suggests that the person traveling slower than the person behind them "MUST" do something, right? As for the insults, cool your jets hot shot. You're attempting to do your passive-aggressive Internet tough guy thing in an attempt to mask that you're wrong and baseless with your assertions. How bout we just stick to the subject, eh?
  10. Because the world only revolves around aholes.
  11. So if I'm passing a semi that's doing 68 mph and I'm going 72 mph, and someone comes up on my bumper at 80 mph I must either immediately get into the right lane and collide with the semi, speed up to 80 mph (breaking the law and risking a fine) or slow down to 65 mph, thus restricting travel further for those in the left lane so that I can get out of the left lane and get behind the semi? Are any of those options more sensible than the guy behind me justing effing waiting until I'm done passing the semi and then I get over?
  12. Ya, I'm gonna go with this. Not enough information to say he did wrong or not, but there is a whole lotta room for this to be a good shoot or a bad shoot. Unless there is some solid, damning evidence that this guy acted in a criminal manner then I don't see him being charged. Investigating a trespasser on your own property isn't criminal.
  13. I just did the holiday drive on 75/24 the day following thanksgiving. People are nuts. I wasn't in any particular hurry, especially since there were so many people on the road so no one was getting anywhere at a speed of their choosing, so I spent the majority of my time in the right lane unless I was getting around semis. In the right lane with a good mile of impassable traffic in front of me there were still an unlimited number of aholes who rode a foot off my bumper on the way back. There are no words to describe how angry that makes me when I have my kids in the car. All it takes if for me to have to react to a road hazard and brake, then get clipped by the idiot behind me and get sent hurling into traffic uncontrollably. Tailgaters are the worst, most inconsiderate scum of the road and the primary reason road rage exists. I can attest that I'd be more than happy to smash their face in on the side of the road. God help them if any of my babies suffer injuries from their idiot driving.
  14. It's safe to say that no station wagons were involved in a fiery crash on that stretch of road. They were driving fast (and furious) and died in the process. Y'all are more than welcome to say I had it coming if I die in a car wreck on I-24 going 120 mph. Luckily no innocents were killed.
  15. It didn't mention in the story, but Tankers post said he was black so I figured he had info from another source.
  16. The man defending himself was black. Nothing the victim did could have provoked the involvement of the race baiters. He wasn't the right color.
  17. Elvis never did no drugs.
  18. Nope, you bleed a lot out your nugget when you get shot through it. The first guy I saw shot in the head it came out like a garden hose that was left on for a good minute. The blood covered a 4 square foot area.
  19. Popsicle sticks won't help on those super small pentalobe screws. The kits also include guitar picks which work well also. Those plastic pry tools are really good to use once use start popping out the internals, but they get destroyed easy during the process.
  20. His lawyer was more than adequate. The point is one can have an opinion of another person's character independent of a courtroom. That does not mean such opinions have any place in that courtroom. I believe OJ killed those people regardless what the courts say. I believe Michael Jackson molested those kids. Hell, locally I see drug dealers regularly get off of murder 1 charges with a two-bit lawyer. It doesn't mean they didnt do the things they're charged with, it just means there isn't the evidence to convict or the DA is weak and willing to make deals. All the things Zimmerman has been accused with in his short life can't stand on their own perhaps, but when you look at the totality of the situation it indicates something. Plus I've heard him talk. I have had enough life experience to determine what is going on with that guy once you add all those pieces together. The problem is the folks defending him are only looking at those things individually. Well anything can be reasoned away individually.
  21. Several of these accusations took place before the Martin episode. There was the younger female family member who accused him of years of sexual assault. The girlfriend that accused him of abuse. The officer who said Zimmerman assaulted him. That all played out while he was still a young man. Since then he's had a wife accuse him of abuse to where police became involved, he shot a teenager. And recently he was arrested and charged with a felony for choking his girlfriend and pointing a shotgun at her. Yes, once again, he is innocent until proven guilty, but I'm not a damned juror. There is a pattern here and it isn't that George Zimmerman is unlucky. If any other gun owner came on here lamenting about 4 separate women accusing him of rape and assault and cops accusing him of assault we would eat him for lunch. And he hasn't been convicted if anything yet, but OJ walked on a double murder. You think he's innocent, after all, a jury found him not guilty.
  22. Okay, so then you give OJ Simpson the benefit of the doubt that he didnt kill those two people?
  23. I bought one good one and a crappy one. The crappy one had the Phillips head strip out about half way through reassembly. They are fine for a one time deal, but if you intend to do this multiple times it pays to get the higher quality stuff.
  24. Buddy, I've broken my iPhone screen and rear plate 4 times now, becuase I refuse to have it in the otterbox and I have kids. I ordered the apple toolkit off amazon along with various faceplates and changed them myself. It isn't as hard as it seems, but you need to dedicate a couple hours to doing the process whilst watching YouTube videos the first time. The iPhone screens on amazon run around $30 from china. I can't remember the cost of the apple kit but it wasn't that bad. It doesn't take many tools to do it, but those really cheap kits ($5) have crappy tools that will strip and leave you screwed. ETA: The cheapo faceplates on Amazon are not apple quality, but they aren't bad. They scratch much easier, but I intend to break my screens before the scratching is an issue. If you are more careful with your stuff there is a company that sells the actual OEM faceplates for around $100 online. I can't remember the site, but it was something like iPhone DIY or something.
  25. I also believe there was not enough evidence. I do think he intended to create a situation where he could use deadly force. I acknowledge that means nothing in court, just my opinion. Lotta folks can't separate one from the other, ya know?
