  1. Meanwhile, most Americans have smart phones.... Thing is, the idea that folks may one day be fitted with some kind of RFID or other body borne information tracking technology is not far fetched, but it would be voluntary; just like all the other traceable technologies we already use like cell phones, Internet, credit/banking cards and so on. And yeah, the gov uses these these technologies for criminal investigations, and in extreme cases they indiscriminately gather data under secret court orders. However, our use of these technologies is voluntary. I have family members who don't have cell phones or email accounts and they only use cash, so the government has a hard time zeroing in on their anti-government rants they drunkenly spout around the bonfire. Meanwhile, we have TGO...
  2. Apparently slipped and fell on a kitchen knife.... suspicious indeed. He is in critical condition. http://www.duffelblog.com/2014/01/robert-gates-duty-book/
  3. They don't know what a PACE plan is, but they sure do know what burpees are.
  4. How to hunt a SEAL? Rig up one of them Loony Toons style traps and bait it with HGH, UDT shorts, sun tan lotion and a mirror. You'll end up trapping a whole SEAL platoon inside of a day.
  5. If this global warming keeps going on I might have to invest in better cold weather clothing.
  6. I'm pretty sure that we should start by following the punishments already in place rather than plea every violent crime down in order to get sentences greatly reduced which won't be served in full anyway. There are folks walking the streets of my town who shot multiple people and served less than a year in jail. Of course they're gonna reoffend. Why wouldn't they?
  7. If I can hold them in my hands that's real enough for me!
  8. Yet if I go burn a Quran and post it to YouTube it would be an international incident sparking riots and attacks against non-Muslims around the world as well as the POTUS condemning my actions. But this is cool.
  9. At 4p it was 52 degrees. By 5p it was 33 degrees. Haven't seen a drop that quick since I've lived in TN.

    Bad idea AOW build

Breaching doors. So no, unless your job requires that you conduct shotgun breaches on doors there is no practical reason to have one of these. But then again, I don't have any practical use for a Mk 48 machine gun, but I'd like one.
  11. That is pretty awesome. Eff the scalpers.
  12. My wife dragged me to the Momma Mia show in Chicago about 10 years ago and they were selling those awful compilation CDs on the way out. I spent the next few months having to listen to ABBA every time I rode in her car. Then the move came out...
  13. You could say that he was finally meeting his Waterloo.
  14. Crap like this goes on every day in places where pot is still illegal. The pot aint the problem. Crappy people are. Whaddaya do about that? Certainly making something illegal doesnt solve the problem to folks who are currently giving no f****s.
  15. Me too, but I plan on listening, empathizing and understanding their concerns before doing something rash and purposefully embarrassing, then posting it for the world to see. I mean, maybe he wants to get a big boy job someday and doesn't want that to be the first thing that pops up when he gets googled by a potential employer. Or what if he faced intense ridicule at school over this and hung himself for it? We wouldn't be giving this chucklehead dad any kudos. Just some things to consider with your kids. It ain't all about YOU.
  16. Or he could respect his son's wishes and try to empathize what it is like to be a 16 year old boy trying to fit in at school. Perhaps the father could of just talked to his son like an adult rather than doing something spiteful in order to further alienate his kid. I dunno, on one hand I'd say it's not my place to judge, but then again this dad chose to advertise his parenting choices on the Internet with the intent to self aggrandize or to further shame his son.... Perhaps a little of both. I wouldn't do this to my kid, but that's just me. I hope it was worth it to him that his son may harbor angry feelings towards him for the rest of his life for the sake of a few Internet yuk yuks.
  17. I thought those signs were directed at criminals they don't want to be armed in their establishment.
  18. I won't even walk into a Sears any more. It's worse than walking on to a used car lot in terms of pushy sales folk.
  19. Always been curious how normal folks can reliably liquidate precious metals at market price.
  20. I had never been more happy with my genetically superior eyesight than when they were issuing those BCGs out in basic training to the blind guys.
  21. PM me soon and I'll talk you through it. Super easy and cheap. I bottled 5 bottles today with one glass left over to sample. Really good stuff.

    TN Road Death's

I took my kids out a few days before Christmas to look at Christmas lights. This was around 5 pm. Our trip was delayed by a drunk who had plowed into a van at 70 mph in a 45 mph zone, at 5 in the evening. He had hit several other vehicles in two hit-and-runs just prior to this. He hurt a lot of people that night. He was only charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. This is why we have problems. There are no consequences to the actions of these people. There should felony charges for aggravated assault when you get sauced up and hurt people. The act is intentional. If we were a few minutes earlier leaving the house this may have been us getting hit, with my babies in the car. Hurting my children because you're a drunk ahole should come with severe penalties. Not a fine and one night in jail. Our government condones this behavior by not leveling more serious charges. Drunk driving should be a felony the second you injure someone. It should come with a death sentence. Drunk drivers deserve to die.
  23. Moscato is already a very sweet, syrupy wine. I can't drink more than a small glass. As for mead, you can spend 5 bucks on honey and make about 5 bottles on your own. I make my own. It takes little effort and turns out as good as anything you can buy. Toss a can of cherries during first fermentation into a batch and ya got somethin' purdy tasty. I have a few gallons that are about to be bottled this week. Last sample was pretty good.
  24. Sounds like they are casing or trying to sell you junk. Either way, best to present a hard target and act like you're the type of person who feeds people to his 100 lb pitbull. I've never had a solicitor come back twice. Only one I ever let it was a politician looking for votes, but that's just because I get something out of that exchange.
  25. Already there. They keep shoving that programming down my throat! I don't care how many commercials you do or Journey songs you cover, I'm not watching it dammit!!!
