1. I'm hooked and so is my wife.  Really, once you're married you can't get into a show that your spouse isn't into, so I'm glad she brought this one to my attention.  We Netflix it when a new season is released on Blu Ray since I travel so much that we'd never be able to follow a season in real time.  It's a lot easier just to rent it, then main line a season over the course of a couple weeks.   And as for characters, favorite one is Khaleesi, Daenerys Targaryan.  She has undergone the most development as a character from what she was to what she is.  It makes her the most interesting character, to me.  And boobies.  Boobies are certainly a plus.   We haven't done Season 3 yet, but will start it next month.  Hopefully I didn't make a mistake by posting in this thread like I did with the Walking Dead thread.... spoilers showing up in the feed on Tapatalk that can't be unseen.

Married, "wife doesn't speak English very well", a kid or three, hadn't been in town very long came from another post. Was under diagnosis process for mental probs, had a script for something in meantime. Used a "Smith and Wesson .45 semi-auto". - OS
Deployed for four months during drawdown and likely never heard gunfire that wasnt on a range. I'm tired of the press jumping on the PTSD thing. It's bullcrap. It assumes no one was an unstable nutbag before they joined the military. Having seen a person kill themselves after being in the Army for less than a week, I'm gonna assume law of averages when you have an organization that has employed millions and millions of Americans in the past decade and a half. Gonna be a few looneys in the bunch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
 3.
I got one of my shipments in today and on the on the order info/receipt it has one of my items crossed off. Does that mean that I wont get it and they will refund it or that it will take them longer to get it to me?
I've had them do this before. Had me kinda concerned that there was a mistake. It was just shipped separately is all. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
 4.
+1 on REI to have a pack fitted. As far as adding weight to your pack for a workout, buy water bladders to fill. That way you can empty them for your downhill trek. Your knees will thank you for years to come.
I'll add that using a bladder for weight would be better for a pack if you can keep the weight high. Big mistake I see with people humping weight is putting it in the bottom of their ruck. You want the heaviest stuff to the top. Having it low is bad for your back. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
 5.
Plenty of room at my place!
Ha, I have a bad habit of giving away AR builds. I've done three in as many years that I've passed along as gifts. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
 6. Thanks for the heads up! I just ordered one too. I've been in the market for a new 1/9 barrel, so this was nice to get an upper in the exchange. Upper will go in the tool kit and barrel will go on existing rifle. Of course, now if I were to buy a LPK I'd have another 5.56 AR, but I don't know where I'd put it! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

 9.   You've already claimed above that you don't care if an animal suffers a cruel death.    While I'm sure an experienced hunter with a great deal of confidence could consitently put down hogs in a humane manner using .223.  Of course, there are those who get no pleasure from killing animals and despise the idea of an innocent creature suffering.  Those folks may also not be as confident they can put down large game humanely with a small caliber.  I would caution folks with empathy for living things to disregard advice from people who wish to make an innocent creature suffer a torturous death.
 10. I've considered keeping a few thousand in gold on hand, but I curious how one can quickly liquidate their gold at market value. I'm assuming all those "cash for gold" places aren't paying market price and I don't like the idea of going on the Internet to sell. Just seems like, in an non SHTF scenario, the gold I would purchase would immediately lose value if I couldn't liquidate it at market price. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

 12.
How about the 50%-50% statistic stated on the electronic signs? If half the people killed weren't wearing a seatbelt, what were the other half doing? That isn't anecdotal; it is statistical.
I dunno... physics? It doesn't matter if you're wearing a seatbelt or not if you fly off the interstate at 90 mph and come to a dead stop. If you're belted in your insides will become mush from the g-force and if you're not belted it you'll be ejected into something at 90 mph. No one ever said that sear belts held some magical power which absolutely guaranteed your survival in every scenario. It is just a strap which keeps you from eating your steering wheel in a low velocity wreck or being ejected in a high velocity wreck. If flying onto pavement is your thing, by all means, don't use it. It's your business. Growing up in the household of a LEO and a nurse I've been given access to information which makes me buckle up. That doesn't mean you have to though. You have every right to base life and death choices on anecdotal stories. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

 15.
You don't have to kill all of them. You just need to get the pile high enough that they can't climb over it. Pretty obvious you ain't ever fought zombies before. :)
Not yet, I like my mortal enemy to be a little more "animated" than that... pun win. But yeah, for warmer climates the idea would be to utilize barriers and method of destroying them on the barrier without degrading the barrier itself. Problem would be how fast you can kill a horde of zombies. I'd be Leary about exhausting my ammo supply on the front end. I'd me more inclined to use the trench method of having a trench or natural low barrier, then using fire to burn them. Even if the fire doesn't absolutely destroy every one of them, it will likely incapacitate them by destroying functioning flesh. Point is, if your plan is to use your firearms as a primary zombie killing tool you'll run out quick. Plus, zombies can climb over mountains of dead brethren. Haven't you read Max Brooks? The way they described their stand in the desert and the height of the zombie hill should be an argument against trying to shoot your way through them... Unless you have a few hundred of your closest friends with you and the site you're defending is an ammo storage facility. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
 16. Up north you have a better chance due to longer periods of time below freezing temperature. Whether they are the undead or 28 Days Later zombies, they can't function in below freezing weather. The only way to stay alive in the zombie apocalypse is to use nature to your advantage. In the event of an infection there may be several hundred million zombies in N. America. You don't have enough rounds to kill a horde like that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
 17. I bought a Jack Wolfskin a few years ago for a day pack. It has a light frame and is small and comfortable enough to carry all day with chow, water and an AK pistol. I don't remember it costing much, maybe around $60? I still use it and it has stood up to relative abuse. It has been around the world and to at least a dozen state/federal parks. I have larger, 3-day assault packs with frames which probably cost in the $300 range, yet I only use my little Jack Wolfskin for day hiking.
 18.
That you actually believe F&F was a legitimate op gone wrong explains why you don't understand the importance of what happened. They didn't "lose track" of the weapons, there was never a process in place to track them in the first place, that wasn't what F&F was designed to do. Operation Wide Receiver was a similar operation that lost track of the guns. The difference being that it was done in cooperation with the Mexican government. In Wide Receiver tracking devices were installed in the guns and when it was discovered that those trackers had been found and removed the operation was halted. With F&F the DOJ intentionally broke the law in an effort to undermine it and build support to change it. If you can't see the problem there, there is no use explaining anything to you.
I can't help but think F&F was a work around for the shortcomings of the previous program. As much as I'd like to see something nefarious in its genesis, I believe it was a case of good initiative, bad judgment. Of course, that doesn't remove responsibility of the government and it sure as hell shouldn't have been used as an argument for gun control, as it was. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

 20.
No offense, but this is a pretty lame statement. I suggest you do a google search for "m4carbine Barnes TSX 70gr" and see how hard these tough critters hit the ground. Personally, I could care less if these destructive rodents get gut shot my a 50 cal and have a slow death. They are a menace to this country and TN Wildlife needs to get their heads out of their asses. Punish the guys transporting the animals not us law abiding hunters.
Geez, they're just animals doing the only thing animals know what to do. Incredibly cruel to inhumanely kill an animal. 21.
I highly doubt they had all the engines malfunction at once.
Why? I'm assuming that those engines don't run on unicorn farts. When the fuel is gone engines stop working, almost all at once. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
 22.
do you really think there would be an official statement saying "Yes, we shot down an international flight because they were off path and not responding" it didn't work out too well for anyone in 1983 when KAL007 was shot down, so I doubt anyone will make the same mistake twice.
But the absence of evidence isn't proof of anything. That's like saying there is a taking dog in the basement if the White House, and the proof is that they won't admit to it or let us in. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
 23.
On that note, why don't we thank the school nurse, or the janitor, or the dog catcher, etc.? They all work hard and provide someone a valuable service.
Hell yeah! I celebrate those folks who make very little but do much for our community. We have a great Animal Control in our community, with paid employees and volunteers who are compassionate and facilitate the adoption of neglected and abused animals. I love those people and my wife and I go out if our way with donations and foster assistance to help them make mission. Teachers? I love me some teachers. Doesn't pay much, but they do it anyway. There are some real heroes out there who spend a career in teaching making squat. Nurses, janitors, coal miners. Lotta jobs out there with folks that don't make much but deserve our respect. Sure, they do it to make a living, but those are jobs that service each of us and a job most of us aren't willing to do. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

 25.   Of course they do.  It ain't newsworthy to do a story on a bunch of guys who play rambo on the weekend unless there is something sinister they could sensationalize the story with.  I'm just speaking of my own limited experience around those types.  A year or two ago I looked into a few of the militias in the area, but got the vibe on where they stood by they things they were saying without actually saying it.  The links they had on their websites also told a story on what those organizations supported.   I'm not prejudiced to the idea of regional militias, it's just that it attracts a certain type of person, and if those people are the pervasive influence I couldn't be associated with that for personal and professional reasons.
