1.   People like him chose to erect obstacles within their own life as a way to ensure they'll never succeed, thus making their behavior and choices acceptable by default.  Reading his posts make is so obvious.  He complains about something and comes up with a reason why he can't do or achieve or overcome an obstacle that he set in the way.  He has been here repeatedly complaining about not being able to get a good job and make decent money, then cites the reasons as circumstances he created.  He can't work here because they have this rule.  He can't work there because the work conditions.  All businesses are corrupt (yet he expects them to pay him).    Then he complains about women, yet he has ridiculous criteria and expectations.  That's like me saying "I will only settle for a woman who will earn all the money while I stay at home playing video games, she'll cook and clean and fellate me every day on command.  Anything less than this isn't worth it."  Of course he is lonely.  He is a narcissist who thinks every person in the world exists to accommodate him, yet he owes nothing to anyone.  I sure hope he remains lonely.  God help us if he breeds.
 2.
Hope you know I was joking :). My vision is of total chaos, not well trained forces. But yeah. Your risk of mortality goes way up when folks are shooting at you. :)
I know you're kidding. I do believe that our community gets a little delusional when it comes to the idea of what will happen if SHTF in terms of violence and the survivability of repeated intense combat. I don't know what scenario people think they're gonna be shooting thousands of rounds of ammo and living through it. If you're using that much ammo in that environment it means that someone is probably using an equal or greater amount against you, otherwise they would break contact. In this scenario the chances of surviving are not good.
 3.
I will. I'm a zombie killin mofo. :). That's why I have a bunch of AR's. Little zombies, BIG zombies, quiet zombies, and zombies that are far away.
It will change drastically if the zombies have guns and know basic flanking techniques.
 4.
barrel will be the last thing to go, agreed. But in that scenario, a cheap extractor or something might cause some woes, or a gun that overheats and melts or something, or can't run dirty, ....
Still. Most here wouldn't survive long enough to burn even a basic combat load. If that type of fighting is going on, which it likely wouldn't due to mutual understanding of the likelihood of death, most folks won't survive long. Those here who have experienced fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan did so with their well trained, well equipped peers fighting along side of them, with the might of the US military having their back. Even I can't comprehend the danger of SHTF, every man for himself situation, but I do know I won't live through it long if I'm slinging lead regularly enough to have catastrophic failures related to use.
 5.
Unlike McCandless, I actually have survival training. Not really. I have dated off and on over the years, but with my PTSD meds, my sexual desire is mostly dead, so not much point in dating. I don't buy much, but I do spend money on good food. Being healthy is important, so that is worth it. If I meet a woman one day, I'll know she is the right one if she isn't materialistic. They are out there. I met a few on my Appalachian Trail hike. Women are pretty crazy though. It's not envy, just anger and annoyance at growing up seeing your mom suffer and in pain, and not be able to afford medical care, but there are people living in monster mansions, driving 80K cars, and blowing money right and left. That's the biggest thing. Everyone has a right to medical care. I care because consumerism affects everyone else. As for the banning thing, I was on this forum 6 years. I'm usually better in real life, but I have PTSD and a few other mental issues, so I get kinda crazy on occasion, and I was drunk that night. I knew I was pushing it, but a lot of the private property comments had irritated the hell out of me. People are willing to fight for their rights when it comes to the government infringing on them, but they are fine with a person infringing on their rights if they are on that person's property. Doesn't make any sense. Anyways, I have access to quite a few computers, so don't bother banning me again. I'm sure you will, as a general principle, though. I'm usually pretty decent in person, I've hung out with a few people here, had the CIS handgun class with members and the glock disassembly class Todd did a few years ago. It is just forums have the same problem as texting, there is no body language, so it is easy to misconstrue things said and take them the wrong way. Have a good day gentlemen.
You still don't get it. You're not entitled to squat and neither was your mom. Nobody owes you medical care. As sad as it may be, it doesn't erase the fact that things coat money and folks aren't going to work for free. You think you're owed something for nothing. Someone who has lots of money had earned the right to have stuff and spend their money however they see fit. That isn't up to you to decide who gets what and how much. I have money. I earned it. You don't deserve a dime of it and neither did your sick mom. Especially since it seems you aren't willing to compromise any of your silly ass hang ups to get the things you want.
 6.
- durability (the 250k round count thing you said you didnt need, but if its the end of the world..) -
If it's the end of the world, no one will survive the number of firefights required to shoot a barrel out.
 7.
Looks like he got what he wanted, attention, even after he's gone.
We've been discussing ramen noodles.
 8.
I must be the odd one of the group. I have had a house of one sort or another since I was 20 and for the most part keep it clean. I have always had too much crap and needed the room to store things. I am probably one of only a few people too that have literally never had a Raman noodle. Blasphemy, I know.
Ha, I've gone so far as eating ramen noodles right out of the package. Yep. I still think that if it weren't for my lovely wife and kids, I would live in a cheapo studio apartment and eat the cheapest foods possible. That isn't because I'm a minimalist, it's just that I don't care to spend money on stuff I don't care about. Heck, I've been driving the same truck for 10 years and hope to drive it another 10, then hand it down to my son. I'm traveling for work right now and have only eaten turkey wraps with spinach and dressing for 3 days. Trust me, it's not because I'm healthy. Just incredibly lazy.
 9. I find it amusing when people like him rant about being so not greedy and minimalistic, yet they clearly envy those who have more than him. His rants often included snide remarks about business owners and rich folk. I don't see why someone who uses one square of TP per poop and grows his own kale would care if someone else devotes their life to consumerism.
 10. One more for the OP. The rifle you have is really great for the price. In fact, if I was forced to only own one AR15, that would be in the top few I'd be choosing from. Getting a super whizzbang AR15 is really just for show, kinda folks who have a classic car they keep looking nice, or the dude who spends his weekend getting his lawn and flower bed looking absolutely perfect. With the exception of people who are involved in shooting sports, you don't need much gun. Most of us here can't afford the amount of ammo it takes to shoot out a barrel, and if we did we could just buy a new barrel for a couple hundred bucks. So there is no logical reason why you need a more expensive AR. The one you have is not only nice, it will do everything you'll ever need it to do, except for look as cool as some of the douchebags on arfcom. Nothing wrong with having an expensive, cool looking AR. Many of us here do. But none of us will say that there is a logical purpose other than it being a friggin awesome dispenser of freedom sounds which make chicks hot and liberals wet their pants.
 11. You can get a more expensive one just for show. Some folks just like having cooler looking stuff. I'm on my 5th AR, because I have a problem.
 12.
I have no idea what his real name is.... I just assumed this was his screen name on Missouri Carry and until I did a search had no idea it was porn related. I just checked his profile on MO Carry and he joined in 2010 and is an active member with over 600 posts.
It's the name of a well endowed porn star played by Marky Mark in Boogie Nights about 16 years ago. And there was a roller girl. Mmmmmm...
 13.
Damn , I love chili dogs and live for PBR ! That hurt bro !
Well I can't do that like I used to with the little ones and the wife. But that's okay. It's worth it.
 14.
Yep, minimalism isn't worth much if you starve to death.
Most males are minimalists until they meet a woman. I suppose I'd be living in a tiny cockroach apartment if I was single. Hell, I did when I was single. Upgrading to a home and nice things isn't selling out. Every person had to change a little for the person we love. Otherwise I'd have crappy furniture and eating chili dogs and ramen noodles nonstop with a chaser of PBR. I changed some of my ways not because I sold out. I just value the wants and desires of my wife more than my own. Thinking that your needs are more important than having a meaningful relationship is a technique, but you'll miss out on a lot.
 15.
Dirk Diggler is a black lawyer from the St. Louis area. He is and has been a member of Missouri Carry for several years helping the 2A fight. Seems to be a good guy and one of his posts on the forum was "you can't call me racist as I am black"... :)
Maybe he should adopt the proper version of his first name in order not to have his name associated with a fictitious porn star.
 16. It is baffling the relationship of torturous depression and hilarious personality. So many of these brilliant comedians have such severe depression and dependency issues, yet they are so gifted at bringing joy to others. Seems ironic. He was a brilliant comedian who could entertain kids and adults alike. I found out a little while ago when my wife texted me about it. She told me Robin Williams was dead, but that "it's not your fault." Robin would have appreciated that.
 17. Well let's hope they take mind of the spring issue. I still love mine, but now I gotta flick my wrist to open it.
 18. I missed his parting comments. Sounds like it was pretty bad.
 19. Doesn't really matter what folks think, he's the only person who knows for sure whether he hit him on purpose or by negligence. Unless he was to confess to intent, no jury could charge him. I know one thing for sure though; that idiot would still be alive if he'd stayed his stupid butt in the car.
 20.
I don't think the Kurds aren't as well supplied as you think. Take into account what they are up against with how much territory they have to defend, and they could run out fast enough if nobody steps in. We haven't been supplying them for a bit since the administration decided that might undermine the government in Baghdad. The Kurds need heavier stuff like artillery rounds, RPG's and anti-armor weapons, not just small arms ammo if they are going to hold the line. If they were good to go, we wouldn't have to drop bombs to help protect our consulate in Erbil, they wouldn't have lost control of the Mosul Dam, and airlines wouldn't be canceling flights into Erbil for security concerns. The Peshmerga are the best troops I saw over there, but even the best troops need a decent supply chain to feed their heavy weapons with the kind of fighting that is going on right now.
I'm not talking about how much small arms stuff they have. They made off with crap loads of tanks and artillery. Not saying we shouldn't continue to provide, just that I doubt their situation is as dire as it's made out to be. The Kurds could be armed with nothing but pitch forks and they'd still a force too great to allow Irbil to fall.
 21.
I'll be the first to admit I don't know much about Iraq, but honestly, I don't give two hoots about anyone who calls it home.
Many of the good people I used to know have been slaughtered or displaced. Just a few years ago these men took on the task of fighting the extremists alone, as we stepped back. Many of those dudes had experienced many years of war. Unlike me who was able to return to the states after a deployment, these men lived it everyday. They saw their buddies maimed and killed. Some of them had family members murdered, simply because they see related to a man in uniform. These people were no different than you or I. They just wanted to scrape out a living and raise a family. Now many if them are dead. Not much we can do for those brave dudes in the Sunni Arab sector, but we can help the Kurds, Yazidis and Assyrians. No reason not to. They are not our enemy, yet they are being slaughtered by our enemy. Let's lob some bombs and help them out a bit if we can. I realize those folks me nothing to you, but they mean something to somebody, and they don't deserve what is happening to them. These are the type of people I joined to help. I fought along side these people, and they risked their life for me and I for them. Now they are desperate, and no one is willing to help them.
 22. What an effing moron. Now his family has to bury him for his fatal condition of stupidity.
 23.   He's banned.   Congrats to the OP.  Sounds like this job is a huge opportunity.
 24.   The Kurds have plenty.  If they are sponging off Baghdad for ammo it's because they see it as an opportunity to keep their current stuff from getting too depleted.  I saw a glimpse into what they ran off with after Saddam's Army crumbled.  Paired with what they've been slid in the years following I don't believe they could be anywhere close to rounds complete, especially since the Peshmerga (regulars) haven't been involved in any of the heavy fighting during the war.  The Peshmerga that were south of the Green Line during those days were getting their supply from the Iraqi Gov.    They ain't stupid.  They ain't gonna use all their own stuff when they can get it from us and Baghdad.
 25.   The Kurds will leave the Yazidis alone.  Most Yazidis I knew identified themselves as being ethnically Kurdish anyway.  The only strife between the Yazidis and Christian/Assyrian, Muslim and Jewish Kurds is that they believe the Yazidis are devil/peacock worshipping heretics.  They are a joke to folks of the region.  Not so much though that they would have to fear the KRG or Kurdish communities; they just aren't taken seriously.  I think this is why they don't receive any support or empathy from folks in the region.  I do believe if they make it behind Kurdish lines they will be okay though.   The Kurds have been arming up since before we invaded.  After the invasion they got fat on scraps from Saddam's old Army and all the cash we were pumping to the Kurds.  Nonetheless, they could always use more.  I don't see ISIS as a threat to Kurdish controlled areas.  ISIS doesn't have the man power or equipment to take and hold land.  From what I've seen it's been a bunch of shelling and pillaging the Kurdish areas south of the Green Line.  We can stop that tomorrow by hitting ISIS with a few days of airstrikes.  For certain, the Peshmerga will never break and they will not surrender their territory.  They aren't like the Arabs at all.
