1. Umm, sorry, I wasn't aware he hit any bystanders. On another note, when you get in a shoutout and you're in fear for your life you can start judging folks on their marksmanship. I've been in a lot of gun fights. One in particular was very close. Not every round hit the intended target. Things are different than when you're shooting at paper in a controlled environment. Then again, what do I know. You armchair quarterbacks know everything and are the most awesome shooters ever.
2. Making exploding targets isn't illegal so long as you mind the law. They sell the ingredients in every gun store. However, it is illegal to purchase firearms for felons and make destructive devices, so I don't see how there is any relation between the two as you suggest. He didn't end up in the radar because he was a prepper. Lots of people are. He ended up on the radar due to association with known felons along with suspicious firearms purchases and reports of giving classes on bomb building. Just like what happened to that man in Ferguson: "If you don't want the attention of the police, don't break the law!"
3. With a broken face/eye socket and being winded from H2H just seconds prior, I'd say that even if he fired 15 rounds with only 6 hits we shouldn't judge.
4. Ya make a few dozen booby traps and buy some firearms for felons and all of a sudden the Feds want to throw you in jail. What's the world coming to?
5.   Ha, I hear ya. Not much you can do to hurt an AK that's been in combat service since before we were born.
6. I used to whack stuck bullets out of AK barrels by throwing down the AK cleaning rod and smacking it with the magazine. Worked every time.
7. To the OP, my wife and I have gone through this several times. Over the past 8 years we scooped up at least 20 stray dogs. Some of them we were able to find the owner simply by keeping an eye on the classifieds (craigslist). We also register them at animal control in case the owner looks there. Of course, we've come across several dogs that had obviously been neglected. The last one like that I decided would not go back to the owner. The compromise was that we did register him to be adopted through the human society, and he found a wonderful family. The previous owners did not deserve this dog. I will say, I've had several strays that had kicked dog syndrome when taking them in, almost to where I felt they might not be adoptable. There was one in particular, a pit bull mix, who was so skiddish I couldn't get him to eat for almost two days. Once he warmed up he was an amazing dog. So affectionate and happy. It's like he understood. We found a great home for him out in Cadiz with a lovely older couple. I would recommend registering this dog with the humane society and foster her until they find a new home, if you can. Otherwise, put her up on craigslist or a local classified and SCREEN potential families. Don't be afraid to say no to scuzzy people. I've adopted out a whole buncha dogs this way. Some times it takes a little while, but it's better than knowing they're gonna be out to sleep.
8. No, all my dogs are chipped and don't have tattoos.
9. That sounds like way too much aluminum powder. 95-5 sounds about right. You have to blow it where you mix it, just like tannerite.
10. Go back to your original statement. You make claims as if they were fact. Only someone who was there could make such claims. So I ask again, were you there? And don't tell me what to do. How about you stop passing judgment on someone's actions when you have no earthly idea what they were going through or what the circumstances were? How about you do that?
11. You're making claims about something that should of happened based on incomplete information. That irritates me and is the reason why an innocent officer may have his life ruined. You weren't there. How on earth could you speculate as to what the officer should or shouldn't have done? I don't get that at all.
12. So you were there? You know exactly what the officer was capable of doing and the EXACT distance? I tell you what, would you bet your life that you can holster a weapon and draw plus accurately fire a taser in the amount of time it takes me to run 30 feet? I wouldn't if I were you.
13.   Why don't you time yourself on how long it takes you to holster your sidearm, unholster a taser, aim, then fire accurately.  Now, with that time, add that a 6 ft 4 in 300lb man who intends you great bodily harm or death is bearing down on you.  Take these things into consideration before assuming that there was another course of action available to him at the time.
14. No, I was referring to the streets belonging to hard working, armed Americans. I assume these thugs must know which streets those are, because there'd be a lot of dead thugs otherwise. Having close family friends who endured a devastating hurricane and the looting that followed, the looters learned quickly which areas to stay away from. They killed looters there frequently in the beginning.
15. Maybe they know better than to wander down certain streets.
16. I'm very surprised that armed citizens are killing these idiots. I can't imagine leaving my home or business to be looted by the mob. I'd stay and fire on whoever tried to force entry into my property. Seems like all the good people of this town just fled and hoped the cops would watch their stuff?
17. I will have one of these built by Christmas.
18. My wife just found some kinda new bug spray which electrocutes them on contact. Don't ask me how it works because I don't know, but I used it on a hornet nest two weeks ago and it drops them INSTANTLY, and then they do the kickin chicken for a few seconds.
19. I would caveat by saying the biggest threat of damage to an AR is unrelated to shooting it. In a survival scenario the likelihood of catastrophic damage to the weapon is going to be at the buffer tube or the gas tube. This is the only reason I don't like the plastic lowers. They can break off the buffer way easier than an aluminum gun.
20.
And I also found it ironic that Panther's were there OCing rifles to protest the Ocing of guns.
Shouldn't be surprised though. The panthers are a hate group and the only thing they hate more than white people are white people with guns.
21.
what I think of in terms of those #s is over time. Decades of hunting & survival, not a big shootout. The biggest use of ammo would, realistically, be blind spray from cover at a hostile group to drive them off/escape; cover fire type stuff, likely to stop being an issue within a couple of months after "the event". And you will note that my ars are cheap -- not too worried about it.
I think that the amount of use an AR would see over the lifetime would be marginal for a person who was: A. Using primarily as a survival weapon to kill food and defend from aggressors, and B. Had a finite amount of ammunition as there was no more being manufactured, therefore use of said weapon would not include high volumes of ammo used for training. One should be able to put thousands upon thousands of rounds through reputable factory AR with no issues. Of course there are lemons out there which are exceptions to the rule, but having experienced putting 10-15k rounds through an issued M4 in a couple weeks time with little cleaning, and having no malfunction of a weapon built by the lowest bidder, I have confidence that a base model AR will do everything a person needs it to do in any scenario.
22.
I hate to say it but it really depends on the part of town the wal-mart is in. I live in a smaller town outside Orlando and I'm on a first name basis with the sporting goods clerks. Both are good guys. When I attempt to buy ammo at the urban store near my work the results are always horrible.
This is true, but I would add that the management team sets the tone as well. But yes, a Walmart which exists in an area where 99% of their customers are Walmartians will have employees who have given up on life.
23. I would say that they're working against their own interests, but I think their own interests are just to get on tv and internets.
24. These guys should lose weight and get girlfriends.
