? The a-hole in the corner lot if that's what you're referring to. Not sure if that's what you meant.

If you need to offload some firearms I know a whole website full of folks who will buy 'em. -
I'm already there! No incumbent will get my vote until the country is back on track. I would love for a national movement to abolish the two parties via voting power to get some momentum.

That lawyer needs to be punched in the mouth. Hard.

+1 Always talk man to man before calling the law. It's the grown up man thing to do. When you do it don't be at all inflammatory. A lot can be avoided in terms of a$$ pain and neighborly relationships. Of course, if he decides to be an a-hole about it wait until the dog is carrying on in the middle of the night and then call the law. Trust me, a few times of being woke up at 2 am by a police officer knocking on his door, he's gonna get tired of it and do the right thing. We had a similar situation at my house only the reverse. We were dog sitting for friends (only had the dog for a day) and it had been carrying on a little while my wife was outside with it mowing the yard. The neighbor hurls a boulder at the dog (injuring it) which resulted in police being called, charges being filed against him and a subsequent deferred sentence for animal cruelty. This could have all been avoided if he simply came next door and let us know that the dog was bothering him. We would have explained we were watching him for a few days and that we would do our best to keep him quiet. I would have been receptive so long as he was a man about it.

Haha, sorry I just couldn't resist.

Even at the Walmarts in quiet little Clarksville we've had regular violent crimes to include murder, attempted kidnappings (armed), armed robbery and so on. I was actually in one when a gang fight broke out at the Exit 4 Walmart. My wife and I fled to the other side of the store because I figured the bullets would start flying soon. If I couldn't carry at Walmart I wouldn't go.

Smyrna Jewelry store clerk shotguns passenger side of robbers getaway car

Looks like they're not pursuing charges at this point. Something similar happened to an Uncle of mine back in the '90s. Long story short, he shot a man 3 times in the stomach and groin in a self defense shooting. The individual survived (with some much deserved permanent health issues). The police investigated and found no wrongdoing. Shortly afterward the DA starts pursuing charges for unlawful discharge of a firearm or something of the like. No charges were pending in regards to actually shooting the individual. This went on for almost a year until the DA decided it wasn't worth it because my Uncle wasn't going to plead out. It disgusts me that in situations such as this there isn't some degree of leniency due to the circumstances. Sure, the store owner wasn't justified in the shooting, but he had just been tied up and robbed. If the store owner found himself in front of a jury he probably would have been fine. These pro-crime DAs are just looking for a quick plead out. -
Long before I had a toolkit to use for builds (about 8 years ago) I used a pair of needlenose pliers to hold the roll pin in place and used a small mallet to set it in about a millimeter. Once set I just used a regular punch that I had in the tool box. This process took some time, but with a roll pin punch it takes about 15 seconds to get it in. I just did a build last month and it was a breeze since I had all the right tools. I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a roll pin punch of the appropriate size at a hardware store for a couple of bucks.

The rule I lived by when I was downrange is that if I spent more than 10 minutes cleaning my weapon I was wasting my time. It doesn't matter if there's dust dirt in the little grooves and cracks on the outside. I just run the barrel, clean the chamber, break down the bolt and scrub with toothbrush and oil, spray and wipe the inside of the upper. The only time I spent a while was when the rifle was going back to the states. I treat my home weapons the same. Every so often (year or two) I'll go through and GI all my guns, but this is for anal purposes only. A spotless gun doesn't perform any better than a gun that was given a quick wipe down and relube.

It helps a lot to have a few armorer's tools to make the job easier and not damage your rifle while building. For the roll pin, just using a roll pin punch can save you an hour of a$$ pain trying to get it to go in. There's a little tit on the end of the punch to hold the roll pin in place so you can easily tap it in with a small mallet. This is exceptionally helpful for the gas tube since that part is a little trickier than the trigger guard.

Definitely prefer the SAW/FN grip over the standard AK grip.

"You do not have to inform an officer you are armed, but if requested you must show your permit to the officer. He can also disarm you if he feels it is “reasonablly necessary†for his safety, your safety or the safety of others." Not that I'm going to argue with a police officer if he asks to disarm me, but I am going to inform him of my rights and let him know that I intend to file a formal complaint if he still insists on disarming me. I don't think it's appropriate to be treated as if I'm a danger simply because I'm legally carrying.

Instead of giving them money we shoulda air dropped pallets of crack and pallets of machetes. The problem would have solved itself inside of a week.

Exactly... and always wonder: "to what end?" Follow the money. Budgets are getting schwacked all over the federal government. The TSA has to look like they're innovative and relavant. They are neither.

+1 Pick something innocuous so as not to allow your opinion to cloud your hard work; especially if that opinion isn't popular with everyone. Also, pick something arbitrary that you don't know much about. It gives you the opportunity to learn something new.

There are so many more expenses than when I was a bachelor. I pay more per month now between health/auto/home owners/life insurance alone than I even made when I was single. Growing up is expensive and it ain't exactly as easy as living in a camper van. More power to this guy if plans on staying single all his life, but this isn't an example for the majority of adults who have families... it just isn't.

For sure. Al Sadr adopted this policy to the point of hunting down and killing some of his subordinates for continuing attacks against us during the surge. But does it make a difference in the long run? Eventually we have to leave. Most Americans don't support our involvement, so matter what Military and policy strategists recommend it's public perception which is going to dictate what we do (folks got to get re-elected). The fact is no matter when we leave or how long we stay the people of Iraq are weak minded sheep and will be unable to find their a$$ with both hands. They will be subject to influence from their neighbors and will most likely devolve into civil war in about 5 to 10 years when the Kurds secede and take Kirkuk with them. Iran will manipulate the Shia government and fund a war to take Kurdistan and end up with the North's oil industry, with a significant percentage of production going east to Iran. With the problems Syria has been having it's not likely that they will be able to provide much support for Sunnis living in the west, which will allow the Shias to dominate politics and take over the government (much in the way the Sunnis did when Saddam was in power). It is what it is. Was Saddam one of the most evil people of our time? Most certainly yes. Was there ever any hope of the Iraqis making it on their own? From what I saw, no.

Welcome to the club. I got a CDP II Compact. I love it, although it took me about 150 rds to get it broke in enough to stop the FTF. Runs great now.

Definitely depends on the optic (M68/Eotech/CMORE). On another note, I'm digging that Chairborne Badge. I've never seen that before and I think I'm gonna have to steal it. I'm googling right now to look for an actual pin. Awesome.

I have to say, I have all the self defense pistols that I want/need, but for fun, someday I'm gonna pick up a Keltec PMR 30 once they work out the kinks and come down on the price. A 30 rd capacity pistol sounds like a good time.
