  1. I'm not convinced that's what's going on here at all. The ACLU whined about it being on the speakers so the school stopped. Problem solved. If the cheerleaders want to do their thing, then there is no problem. If everyone else wants to join in, that's cool too. Even if some of those people are school employees. So long as there is no coercion from school officials, I don't see anything other than people expressing their 1st Amendment rights. Now, if some Muslim kid wants to use that moment to pray, that's cool too. If other Muslims want to join in, by all means. But I'm calling BS on the notion that since so many people are participating, it is exclusionary to other faiths and non-believers. Being in a majority doesn't negate the 1st Amendment anymore than being in the minority. I interpret the reaction of those who take issue with this as being upset that others might "feel" excluded or uncomfortable. That doesn't trump ANYONE'S right to exercise the 1st Amendment. I've spent many years in several Muslim countries too. I've also spent more time than I care to admit in the northeast part of the country. So I've been to my share of Catholic and Muslim weddings and funerals. Almost all of those involved religious ritual amongst the followers. Anyone who has been to a Catholic wedding knows what I'm talking about with all the standing and kneeling. Muslims have their own rituals, especially at funerals. I may have felt out of place in those crowds, but never excluded or uncomfortable. They believe what they believe, and I believe what I believe. Now, before you tear me apart by pointing out that these were religious events which I willingly attended, my point is simply that a person's feeling of being excluded due to another person practicing a belief has nothing to do with the person practicing their belief; it has to do with the person who feels excluded. Anyone who is firm in their beliefs should not be concerned with another person practicing theirs. That's just silly. On another note, is anyone going to point out the skirts these cheerleaders are wearing? Maybe the community I went to school in was more religious, but there is no way Jesus approves the length of those skirts. Is this the norm now? Not to be a prude, but no way would I be cool with my daughter going anywhere dressed like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I still check around on Armslist every so often looking for a unicorn, and the ARs are still listing for more than they're worth. Not sure if they're actually selling at those prices or if they're just hoping for a sucker. I've built several ARs this past year for friends, and have walked them through selecting which parts they want to have on there and it has never been cheaper. Hell, it's cheaper now to get whole and parted ARs on the commercial market than it was to buy a garbage neutered AR15 over 15 years ago. Trust me.... I bought an Oly Arms during the ban in the late 90s. With the deals running nonstop online, it is stupid cheap to buy an entry level AR, or build one with all the bells and whistles. Commercial sales can't possibly get lower. As far as bubba goes, I think we've seen the end of the great purge. Whatever bubba went and put on his credit card during early 2013 is long been sold. I don't see the civilian market going down with the exception of the occasional desperate seller. I can still build a new rifle for cheaper than 90% of the used ones I've seen listed (which are entry level). The rest which folks have kitted out with expensive to fast items are a different story. There are probably a lot of good deals on those types of rifles, since they're having to compete in a market where many buyers just want a basic AR, and may be willing to pony up a few extra dollars for gimmick gadgets, but not break the bank. As for the elections, you'll see those prices start to climb well before November '16, especially if the Hillary is looking like she might win. I'm surprised we haven't seen a slow rise right now so close to midterm, but I'm sure there will be a run in November, then a huge spike in January if the Dems take the House. If not, folks may enjoy another year and a half of these low prices on ARs/AKs and standard capacity mags. My suggestion to everyone I talk to who wants an AR but can't afford one is to buy up several lowers. They'll be grandfathered, most likely, if there is a ban, which means you can hang on to it and build it later. It's what I've been doing, but they keep turning into rifles. It'll be nice to have later on down the road so my kids can still get their own ARs. Plus, if you get a stack of lowers, they will skyrocket in value later if a ban goes into effect. Don't know how much a pre ban lower goes for in California, but I know they ain't cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I keep saying it, but I'm gonna have to cull the gun locker to get what I want.
  4.   Ugh, tell me about it.  I've been wanting for so long to get a Yugo underfolder, but I just dropped some serious bank buying a house, moving and upgrades to the old house for tenants.  I can't get away with spending another dime without the wife slapping me around.  I'd dip into the vacation fund, but she's been putting away for the better part of a decade for a Med cruise, and if take from that for a Yugo she will shoot me with it.
  5.   I can get on board with that.  I think he might be in some grey area as an administrator, so "asking" may be interpreted at "ordering".  I still don't have a problem with it being conducted, and the ACLU has no purpose here unless there are kids being forced to participate in religious activities against their will.  If a bunch of kids in the band whip out prayer rugs and start praying towards Mecca, I wouldn't feel uncomfortable or excluded.  That's their thing.  Folks just need to chill and not be so offended by other people expressing their beliefs.
  6. I don't think the market can get any lower than it is right now and there still be profit from manufacturers.  If folks want an AR, now is the time to get one.  Lotta people are gonna be kicking themselves in the butt here soon.
  7. If a person or group of people want to pray they have every right to. If a Jewish or Muslim wants to pray, that's fine too. What I will never, ever understand are people who say, "You can't/shouldn't do that." None of your business. Just because these kids are at a public school sporting event they don't suddenly lose their right to practice their religion. A person, or group of people praying has no effect on the rights of others. The reason people have a problem is because they "feel" excluded. Just like carrying a firearm makes people "feel" uncomfortable. Laws formed because of "feelings" are bad laws. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. This is why when I buy these lowers I do several at a time, as it reduces the cost of transfer. Every place I've been charges one transfer fee regardless of quantity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10.   Sorry you got offended because we were talking bad about your boyfriend.
  11. Meh, I collected a lot of Ba'ath/Saddam stuff from my time in Icrack.  Plan on passing that stuff down to my boy or his first son someday.  Doesn't mean I'm a Ba'athist or supported gassing of Kurds.  Historical stuff is neat.  In fact, I had two Eagle/Swasticker stamped Mausers when I was in Iraq.  Hadn't been stamped over by the Turks, like most of the ones we came by.  I tried bringing them back the right way but the Jagoff wouldn't let my paperwork go forward, because he was a sackless weasel.  Would have loved to have that piece of history in my collection, right along side my hammer/sickle stamped Mosin and an M1.
  12.   I look forward to seeing it.  I like being inspired.
  13.   For someone who has a degree in communications you still can't seem to read.  Good luck in your career.
  14. As much as I get emotional about putting tacticool crap on an AK, you made that look good.  What is the side folding adapter you're waiting on?  Can you link it for us?  Are you doing a side folding buffer tube for that with the Sig Brace?  I assume that adapter you put on the back just has threads that you screw the buffer tube into?
  15. I still can't seem to figure out the search function here, but about once a month there's a thread posted about PSA shipping.  Seems like it's standard that they ship 2 weeks after order, regardless of whether it's in stock, time of year or if it's high volume time.  Almost to the day, every time I order, it takes two weeks before it's shipped.  I'm pretty sure it says that on their site too.  I'm beginning to think that this is some kind of SOP which allows them to stay small even when there is a big run after Obama starts picking up pens and phones.
  16.   Work on your reading comprehension skills buddy.
  17.   Oh give me a break.  The hyperbole is strong with you.

  19. I'm popping off the 5.56 barrel on my TGO rifle and going 300blk for hog hunts in late November. Been looking hard at barrels and ammo lately. Looks like there are a lot of good deals on barrels out there; I've never seen them so cheap. Seems like 5 years ago you'd drop $250 for a crap barrel that wasn't even chrome lined. I'm seeing deals on melonite barrels for $150 right now. Ammo still sucks. The reason I didn't commit to 300blk earlier is because I didn't have time to reload for it and it's too expensive to feed. For its purpose, I'm just getting enough ammo to zero and kill a few pigs, and that's at ~ 1.25 a round. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. They sure are. I have no problem intimidating or beating the sh** outa someone who intimidates women and children. Those are called principles. I don't need a law to dictate that to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My principles? You have no idea what those are. I absolutely believe in this douchebag's right to be armed as well as his right to free speech. There is no law against him walking with an unloaded rifle and body armor only feet from a school full of children. There's also no law against dressing up in a barely there speedo, a light coat of oil and a sign that says "Free Candy", and hang out right in front of an elementary school. I believe that the first amendment guarantees that. But if it's the school I drop my kid off at, I'm gonna bounce that dudes head off the pavement while I wait for the cops to get there. I believe that any man has the right to speak freely, to the point that I believe the 1st amendment protects the speech of any man to call my wife vulgar names. Doesn't mean I won't knock that person's teeth down their throat. This guy has taken what is legal to do, and he is using it as a tool of intimidation on innocent kids and parents. I don't need the Constitution or a bunch of laws to tell me what is right and wrong. I know what that is. When a grown man intimidates innocent women and children he needs to have his ass curb stomped. Those are my principles, sir. I mean exactly what I say here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
